I had a restaurant interview that I bombed yesterday so bad that the interviewer literally handed me back my resume after the interview. Thank you for making this advice interview. I am hoping to get a job as a server for the next 6-12 months while looking for a job as a server. I'm only about 3 minutes into the video but I definitely can't wait to watch the rest.
@@kristinbeck6659 hahaha unfortunately not due to lack of experience. But I did get a different job that I’m coming up to 3 years now. Sales/Shop manager at professional skate service.
2:45 actually a really good tip, wear a watch and constantly check the time if you feel the need to check your phone or the time or something, it makes you look a little bit more formal and professional and also doesnt come off as you are bored and focusing your attention elsewhere, instead you look like a sophisticated individual on a time limit who maybe has other interviews after this one and your interviewer could very well take that into consideration.
I was at an interview the other day, and I fully agree to not get on your phone. But- I feel creepy just sitting there watching people walk by. I know that’s stupid because I guess we’re just all used to people staring at a phone?? But I checked it once and answered a text because I literally felt like a creeper
I totally get this, I think the point was more so not to be consumed by your phone. Looking comfortable is just as important as looking present. It doesn’t take that much attention to send a quick reply. To avoid the creeper feeling Ill look at things like layout of the restaurant, where the computers are located, what does the bar look like, the colors of the walls. Counting glassware or some part of the wall design can be helpful for easing the anxiety of waiting, while giving you something at eye level to focus on so you don’t get/look bored as well.
little bit of both, dont go in lying and then get a position you have no clue how to operate. but just sugar up the truth is all.. reword things to make them sound better.@@maraysiabrewer2381
Hello! Is it good to text after the interview (if that’s the way the contacted you) letting them know you enjoyed the interview and you really like the place, menu, vibe etc? And that you are excited about the next steps. Advice?

A fast food restaurant is a real restaurant. The word you're looking for is full-service restaurant.
