God the beer throwing is the most energetic that I’ve seen nats park in my life
Agreed. The fans are usually dead
Because we’re used to choking and underperforming in playoffs. This teams different and all of Nats Park can feel it
Exactly what I thought.
@@ben_cross21 you guys park was mostly empty the last week+ if it was "different" wouldn't the fans have sold out those games? Plus what seems typical for you guys is to lose the NLDS, so until you get past that hurdle don't know how you can it's "different".
The Redskins is the answer why, usually they delude themselves into believing the Skins will be good, but this year they can't pretend so all in on losing the NLDS they are.
Say what you want about baseball being boring but there's nothing like playoff baseball!
"Baseball is dull only to dull minds."

I'm a big baseball fan fun low-key playoff hockey might be bigger
But*
Christopher Miller I feel sorry for people who don’t like baseball... they’re missing out on a lot!
Yes, but a large majority of this game was a total snoozefest. You could have literally slept from the 3rd to the 8th, and you wouldn't have missed anything important.
"They had us in the first 7 1/2 innings, not gonna lie"

@@allenmobley9858 😉
I remember leaving the game in the 7th and when I got home heard we had won!
The real Clutch was strausburg keeping them at 3 the whole game
Richard Harryman forrrreeal
Yes he was the unsung hero of the game, who knows if he gives up 1 or 2 more runs they probably go quietly into the night.
In 1924 WS aging super Great Walter Johnson pitched 5 relief innings to the 12th unscore upon by Pittsburg and Senators won WS.Kind of similar to Strass relief job in modern era? I feel something great coming from a woe begone previous DC baseball history !
And Zimmerman for setting everything up
What a huge ab by Taylor, Zim and Rendon. I loved the way they never quit. It would have been easy to go up there trying to play hero ball and have terrible swings. Hader couldn't throw the slider for a strike, then the booted ball in right. Everything happened just right. It was a terrific game...I love it!
Haven’t heard a Washington stadium that loud since the caps won the cup
This team feels like that caps that year they won the cup. Very resilient group who’s hot yet under the radar
They'll choke like always
Agreed, Redskins are highkey terrible and Wizards haven’t gotten past the first round in a few years.
@@oboh-nc9os MYSTICS!!! Della Donna!! Lol.

6:42 imagine Bryce in street clothes coming out of nowhere also running to the mound to celebrate
This is the most funniest comment ive ever seen in my life😂
That is classic!! 👍

"We want bring a title back to D.C." 2019 Love ya Bryce
@wrestling with principalitieslol, or like a jaded ex-lover he gets hauled away from the mound by security cursing and drunk lol
Had it not been for this, the World Series could've been entirely different.
Yep. Dodgers - Nationals was super close, could’ve ended differently but the Nationals were clutch and were great when it mattered most. Same with Astros - Nationals. Both very close series and had the other team won in one of those 3 examples, history would’ve been much different. As a Padres fan, I’m really happy for the Nats, especially for Strasburg. Hopefully we get our long awaited championship ring in 2020.
Joey Simon in a shorter answer that’s Sports just look at the UVA national championship March madness run
It was a crazy playoff run
@@shanepleasants6280, Yeah, who was that guy who had his putback layup roll off the rim at the buzzer?
When u realize the nats made the playoffs and won a winner take all wild-card game at home without harper lol
And they came back from being down 3-0 at one point.
Craig Webb and they became the only team to win 4 on the road in history. This team doesn’t quit.
Grandal: I'm gonna send my team to the NLDS
Soto: Hold my Pepsi
To be fair, Grisham's the one holding the pepsi on sending the Nats to the NLDS on this one 😂
Yes, Grisham deserves some blame, but more so on Hader. He's the one that blew the save and got the loss.
@@EvanEscher you're pretty much right on, but do people remember Bob Stanley and Calvin Schiraldi, or Bill Buckner?
right. Wasn't the game tied when Buckner missed the ball?
Same situation here.
@@EvanEscher
Wrong. The game WAS NOT tied. Brewers was up 2 when Grisham committed his costly error.
Dont the Nats seem much more likeable without Harper?
Running Down a Dream and outfield is young with Robles Soto
Good riddance.Bryce seemed inside to believe he was something special.Propaganda by sports writers about him since he was sixteen didnt help.He had two above average years as a National. If the Phillies are happy thats fine.Take More than Harper to improve Their dismal performances the last 7 years.
Go Nats
This Nats team was one of my favorite teams in a long time. I love all the individual storylines for a lot of the NATS players. A lot of vets on that team got some well deserved rings. Beating the Astros was awesome too given the circumstances.
Harper got hate for no reason
Felt like the Nats went and stole this game much like how their last 3 postseason series were stolen by other teams from them.
Well, the Brewers have only themselves to blame. 2 run homer from Yasmani, a solo shot from Thames, and bankrupt after that. They had several RISP, but lacked that clutch hit.
Sooooo true
Bill Buckner? (RIP)
Lol! They didn’t steal it. They were outplayed for 7 1/2 innings, and then the Brewers absolutely gave it away on a silver platter. 😂🤣
They won on an error. Still not a STATE. MAGA
I'm glad Bryce took that losing mentality to Philly with him

From down by 2 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning of a wild card game to world series champs?? Are you kidding me!!? Nats fans, cheers to all yall. Live this up, cause this is iconic
All started with Robles cheering with the towel and ended with Robles with the ball for the last out.
You Got It!
Nationals radio announcer: BANG ZOOM GO THE FIREWORKS!
Mary Jo Savulich I’ve heard that a lot
I knew it was a blunder for Davey to start Scherzer, he's just not ready yet - but it was brilliance to have Strasburg pitch in relief
I got no problem with two of our best pitchers taking the mound to start the game.
I was LIVID when I heard Scherzer was going to start this one. I swore they would have gone with Strasburg for the very reasons you just mentioned. Martinez should have known better. But it doesn't matter.
I still think Scherzer was underrated, most pitchers would have crumbled if the game was 2-0 before getting an out and 3-0 to start the second
That hit by Soto was one of the most consequential in MLB history. It was the big hit the Nationals could never get in the postseason for so many years. Changed the franchise from a perennial playoff choker to a World Series champion.
Before that, the Nationals never won a series even when favored.
And now look at them.
@@danejurus69 True enough - but they have a World Series title which a lot of other teams would kill to have.

The brewers are a legacy of failure. After this year will the nats still be? Or will they go all the way? We’ll see.

I was rooting for the Brewers, but I've seen too much baseball to not know what was going to happen in the 8th. That HBP was big, the broken bat dunker, a walk - it was going off the rails before Soto stepped to the plate. Grisham's error in right just insured I was getting to bed on time. Either way, Milwaukee just wasn't in a good spot to make a deep October run. Better luck next year. Going forward, I'm hoping the Nationals play a good series against the Dodgers and sour their chance at winning another pennant.
Who's here after the Nationals won the Series
Soto>Harper
For way less money too 🤷🏻♂️
Harper Who?
4:20 Choking Hazard
5:40 was the biggest choke of the night, could have held the lead if not for that mistake.
Now that's the way you start the MLB playoffs... Congrats to the Nats! What a game.
From this to World Champions...
This game was AMAZING 🔥
All 3 players involved in that Grisham error are now on the Padres. Grisham, then Hader, now Soto
If the Brewers get their guys back and healthy, they are a 100+ win team. Re-sign Grandal and Moose.

Great game, Love post season baseball.
Best reliever in the NL? Who? Way to go Nationals you just defined what coming up in the clutch actually means. I'm not a Nationals fan but loved seeing the Brewers choke to death like that. Awesome game.
I wish people would stop with the choke nonsense. This isnt the NBA. This isnt the NFL. Choking in baseball is not a thing. A guy drawing a walk or getting a hit off a talented reliever is not because the reliever choked. The hitter was just better.
@@Korijenkins1414 They did choke. Blowing a 2 run lead in the 8th inning with the so called best reliever on the mound is the epitome of choking.
Kori Jenkins it depends on what happens. This was a choke when you consider they had 2 outs runner on first in the 8th with a lead and their best reliever, gives up a hit and then the right fielder cracks under the pressure too by mishandling it
@Jay Hernandez who cares my team is already out of the tournament 🤣🤣 just want the Cards to lose against the Braves and I'm good

As a Nats fan the first 7 1/2 innings felt like 2012, 2014, and 2016. The rally in the 8th felt a lot like what other teams did to the Nationals most specifically the cardinals I believe in 2012 when the Nats had a 6-0 lead in thr nlds game 5 at home and lost.

Yup for years it was the Nats giving up leads late but now it’s the opposite we’re fighting back and getting wins. Maybe being the underdog is better for this team rather than being favorites

Even the Brewers’ radio guys got it right: so close that either call on the field would’ve stood...and if they do call it a foul, Hader gets him out and Milwaukee ends up winning, “Ball 4 hits Taylor’s bat in the 8th” is probably the #1 Same Old Nats play of the game.
There are so many things that if were done differently the Nationals would not be in the World Series. Strausberg relief, zimmermans awkward swing and the error that scored the third run. Plus more that happened
