There's a really good article in the Washington Post about how the Nationals made their signs ridiculously complicated and had multiple sets of signs they could rotate through. You can see the little set card on Gomes and Suzuki's wrists in several shots throughout the series when they were catching. Even if the Astros saw the sign, they had no idea which one they were stealing or the Nationals were using at that given moment. Kudos to the Nationals pitching staff for creating that and catching Strasburg's slight pitch tips and fixing that as well. Nationals did everything right to counter the Astros trying to cheat.

I had heard, on a Washington radio show, that each pitcher worked with the catchers on their own signs. So, it differed from game to game. Not even sure if any of the coaches knew what the signes where. My guess, and this was never talked about, the only commonalities would have been from the bull pen and they probably changed from game to game as well. Now, new reports have come out that certain Astros players may have been wired during the playoffs. If proven, we may see lifetime banishment of players for the first time since the 1919 White Sox scandel.

It's crazy how bad Patrick Corbin's contract has become. But he was a key piece to that World series. We couldn't have done it without him out of the bullpen. Remember the Nats were basically 3 starters deep that whole postseason with Corbin the long reliever. Hudson was a great pickup as well.

I'm an Astros fan, and still VERY proud of our Astros. I was not aware that the Nationals had never won a World Series title. Although I feel just a bit sad that our Astros didn't win this year's title, we did win the WS in 2017, therefore, am happy for the Nationals that they finally did get their first win also. Great job to both teams! Had everyone walking on eggshells (nervous of the outcome) until the final two innings when the Nats scored more runs. Congratulations Washington Nationals!!! You now know how it feels to win that title also!👍😁⚾🏆

People give Strasburg credit for fixing his tips and throwing so many dominant starts in October, but man, Howie Kendrick saving the Nats twice in one postseason with clutch homers is what I'll always remember. Such a fun set of playoffs across the board.

As a Nats fan, this has been a moment loooong coming. I had to watch other teams make history at the Nats expense like the Braves 10,000th win and watch as fans of other teams (phillies) crowded the stadium and drown us out. But now, now the the Nats have their time to shine and it was glorious. I don't know if they win again, I hope they will but this was the big one I will remember for the rest of my life.

As an Orioles fan, the Nats have always been my 2nd favorite team. So glad that they won it, especially without Harper!!! I think what's even more impressive that they went 4-0 in a stadium whose team cheats in. When Howie hit that homer, I was jumping for joy. So proud of my beltway "rivals"

Like my Red Sox last year, Nats were this year's team of destiny. You could see it in the eyes of the opposing team. It's like an avalanche that just can't be stopped. These guys were down FIVE times in elimination games and came back each time. Congrats Nats
It wasn’t really that much like the Red Sox last year. They steamrolled all year, including the playoffs. This team struggled all year, fought as hard as they could and came up on top. They had less than 1% chances of even getting to the WS at one point this year. Dave Martinez did a damn good job managing them during the post season
