Kathleen and the LoadingReadyRun crew prepare for the Born of the Gods Prerelease. Will Kathleen's unique strategy pay off in the end? Will others bend to her suggestion?
I played Mono Red at Pre-release, but I had enough good Green and Blue pulls that I just built an entire second Green and Blue Deck that was much more effective. So pretty much every round played the first game with Red, and then the second game I'd just sideboard in a completely separate deck, often after my opponent sided in things to fight Mono-red and just won a lot. I went 3 - 1 - 1 at the Pre-release, made top 8, and brought home 7 packs.
I half-agree with Kathleen. Black is definitely the best color, hands down. But monoblack is just limiting yourself. Go for Dimir or Golgari or even Rakdos. If you're feeling adventurous? Jund or Grixis! As long as there's some black in the party, it's a good party :)

7:30 I can testify to what Cam said here about 'Surprise Centaurs'. I played it at prerelease today and my opponents were never happy to see 6-power suddenly hit the field (also pulled a nice foil Temple of Plenty!)
I am still unsure what to pick. Black has been my jam since i first played in guildpact and blue is amazing, white cards are equally awesome and red is somewhere in that spectrum, but green i will not touch.
...Aaaaand under goes the Erebos's Emissary. Eww. Anyway, great one yet again! I'm absolutely torn between blue and green, they've got the promo cards that fit me the best, but black has so much good removal and Pseudo-Bob!
I also picked white (unwillingly I must say) and ended up pulling the red promo card and splashed for Medomai the Ageless and, while I didn't win any packs or anything, this was my first tournament of any kind and I went 2/3 :D
Actually, I have had asphodel wanderer do work. I just got to the finals of a draft last night with a deck running 3 of them. It wrecked my foe's voltron without trample, not to mention when I put baleful eidolon on it.

Just a quick note, you should say in the "About" section whether or not they will be talking about spoilers. I began watching the video, extremely excited for a new Friday Nights video, only to see that one of the first images is the crew looking at the "Born of the Gods" spoiler, and talking about one of the abilities in the set. Luckily I stopped the video in time before hearing anything important, but just barely. I like going to pre-releases not knowing anything at all about the set. It's just how I like to play. I am not saying you shouldn't make videos about the new sets with information on those sets. But maybe you should put a more obvious disclaimer in "About" section if you plan on doing that. Just a thought :P

Clockwork_Bard I have prepared for and talked about many prereleases before going to them or seeing cards from the set that the prerelease was for. It's vague, and could literally entail anything. If they decide to not do it, then fine, I'll just have to deal with it, because something so minor would never make me stop watching their stuff. But a suggestion is never a bad thing. That's all I was doing, no need to be rude.
I haven't fully decided which colours I'm going to be playing. Sadly I won't be delving into Red/Blue this time, since Red/Blue is still not a thing, so that leaves either Red/Black or Blue/Black.

I won my last prerelease with 10 1 and 2 drops plus a couple 3 drops, three 4 drops and a 6 drop. I went undefeated with 78% of the cards being common

I went to my midnight pre release and mad a black red minotaur's removal burn I got top 20 out of 68 people darn those fast aggro decks
Played black/red minotaurs went 3-2 u can get some sick combos off with some of the new minotaur cards.
Only Graham gets to be a Planeswalker.

I'm sure you can, but the prerelease has an "open dueling" format with intro packs you play single games of, intended for beginners you might try out.
