    Next time dont use logs more than two weeks old, make sure you wax any holes you drill after placing in your dowel spawn. and to retain moisture use the wax at the ends too. old wood was already inoculated w something that had already been growing wherever that log came from, the second one was too old as well. when you have logs older than about two weeks you will have mycelium grown already that your mycelium will have to compete with.

      @@gerardguevarra2742 we didn’t get the mushrooms to grow this time so off experience idk how long they would have took. we will be trying some new methods.

      Thank you! They can take 1 year to bear fruit. But they will last for up to 5 years after that!

    this wont work for chicken of the woods, the logs have to be pasterized first, innoculated than incubated for months inside a onclave bag.

      I harvested 35+ pounds of Chicken of the Woods last year from one dead oak. I'm trying to understand how this doesn't work. Could you please explain why it doesn't work? Thank you for your time with my question.

      or too young?
