I am a tennis player. Friends are encouraging me to try pickleball. I’ve watched various videos that say paddles also go by grip size…like a tennis racket. Similar type measurement. However, when I check paddle websites, there are not various grip sizes. There is one size grip for the paddle. Most of which are nowhere near my 4 1/2. Are we supposed to pay even more to get to a higher grip size? Paddles are expensive enough. Too many add on overgrips change it to more circular grip in my opinion. Help,

I also play tennis and I've never worried much about grip size on pickleball paddle. It's so much lighter that the differences in size won't effect your experience nearly as much. Also, be careful with what brands advertise as different grip sizes. Selkirk, for example, simply changes out the replacement grip to a thicker one, or removes it and goes straight overgrip on handle to make it smaller. The key thing to take away though is, it's not too important on a paddle, and generally you want to use something much smaller than you would on a tennis racket.

Badminton shoes are way lighter and offer the lateral protection.

They are also great, the reason I prefer tennis shoes is for the outsole's durability benefits on hard courts compared to the gum rubber on Badminton shoes.

In addition to what you carry, I have various sizes of Bandaids, ankle wrap, ibuprofen, anti acids, and EMT scissors. I’ve had to use them all on others. Also I now carry a knee compression sleeve (for those occasional tweaks), sun sleeves, and wrist sweat bands. Finally a sunscreen stick and Two Toms sweat prevention for summer months.

Very good point. The first aid kit will come in very handy at times and the sunscreen I'll add to my bag soon as the sun is finally coming out in Vancouver.
