    Thank you for your time and posting. Just sold my Gearbox Pro Elongated. I had it for two months and it just wasn't for me. I'm going to get either the Infinity DBD or the Volair Mach 2 Forza.

    Great review! The PPE has been my go to paddle for the past 3 months. It is even better when you had about 5-6 inches of 1 gram per inch lead on each side of the throat and add 2 overgrips since the handle is extremely thin at 4’. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the control elongated. Also, the next sleeper paddle will be from a company called Lunar. Remember where you heard it first!

    Another great review! In your “Best of 2023,” you gave the “Power Award” to the Hyperion C2 (which I am STRONGLY considering to replace my Hyperion CFS 16mm Swift)-pending review of this incoming Gearbox paddle. Now that you’ve had time with both, what is your assessment? Of these two paddles, which is the best for power without sacrificing control? For singles and doubles? Thanks again!

    • @RacketsandRunnersPickleball
      @RacketsandRunnersPickleball  4 месяца назад +1

      Thank you! It's a very good question and I'll say the Pro Power certainly has more power, but which has a better power to control ratio will depend on your preference. The Pro Powers have that unique flexy feel which will give nice control in the long run but the C2 will be more traditional, and still has a large sweet spot, just not much softness.

    • @dannymcneal
      @dannymcneal 4 месяца назад

      @@RacketsandRunnersPickleball - Thanks for the quick reply! Now leaning more heavily toward the C2 due to your original review and the larger sweet spot.

      I like luca a lot but no. Pickleball studio and john kew both have higher production quality and supply more numbers around spin, pop, and power. They are more detailed in their assessments and do a better job differentiating between when they are talking about paddles of different thicknesses. Plus luca comparatively is not as good as some other reviewers and so lacks a bit of nuance when it comes to talking about shots like resets and speed ups. Dont get me wrong I like luca but its just false imo to call him the best reviewer

      Agree with wolf. Another knock is his reviews are only from the perspective of singles when the vast majority of rec players are doubles only which is vastly different. His court play looks more like tennis than pickleball. I do have to give him props for playing on snow/ice! WTH bro! Are there NO indoor courts in your area!?!?!?

    Hi. I need some guidance. I come from a Tennis background. I recently moved up to 4.0 pickleball level. I’ve been playing with a P Apes Proline Energy and I really like that paddle, but feel I need more power and pop at higher levels. What paddle would you recommend?

    • @RacketsandRunnersPickleball
      @RacketsandRunnersPickleball  4 месяца назад

      That's a great paddle but the Pro Power Elongated would also be great for yourself. You could also try the Body Helix X-3 Pro which has very tennis-like properties.

      The thing with the Fusion is that it's shorter and narrower. The Mach 2 is shorter and wider so while it may have a shorter sweetspot, it's also noticeably wider.

    If you are one of the many who paid a premium for this paddle and got a dud. And Gearbox won't stand behind the warranty. Simply file a claim in your community small claims court to hold them accountable. Not sure what is worse their quality control or their customer service.

    Pickleball paddle reviews.
    How to write better reviews.
    I wished you would have spoken more about the pro power elongated paddle instead of the fusion Paddle. My suggestion would be. Just make video's from now on of a single paddle only. without comparing it to any other paddle So that your focus is on how the playability, the feel and what you found good about the pad and what you did not like about the paddle. Don't be like all of the other reviewers.
    I wish you would do a video another video on the pro power elongated paddle only and don't compare to any other paddle because that does no one any good if they have not used the other paddles that you are comparing it to
    Tell us what your impression of using the paddle only was by telling us how it feels, did you like it, it's strong and weak points, how did it fell did you like it yes or no and why and what you thought about it and what you were able to do with it and how you liked it? Did it make you a better player or do you think it could make you a better player and why or why not. Basically intangibles that matter to a person playing pickleball. This way it is all about the paddle you are playing with and reviewing only?
    This is Just a thought on how you could improve you reviews. Do not be like all of the other reviewers who spew out stats and the same content who do the same types of review.

    Most overrated paddle on the market. Several of the guys in my area have sent them back to the company or sold them on Ebay because they had very little power. I played with the power pro elongated for 2 days and was very disappointed. Not a good paddle and every reviewer is saying the opposite.

      Sounds like you/other guys in your are may have given up too soon. I've read similar comments to yours (lack of power) but apparently there's a break-in period for the full power potential to be achieved.

    • @evk3593
      @evk3593 5 месяцев назад +2

      @@seanwilson512 Correct. The carbon fiber rods need about 3 weeks of solid play to loosen up for the trampoline effect to take place. Without the break in period, it's stiff and dull.

    • @user-wh1cv5vh5n
      @user-wh1cv5vh5n 5 месяцев назад

      Yes I heard about this "break in period" and I think it's hilarious because it makes no sense that anyone would pay $300 for a paddle that needs to be "broken in" first. Gearbox handled my case horribly and didn't even answer my many emails. Shout out to Just Paddles who did offer me a credit for the paddle though. I am to the point now where I am probably going to make a video about this because I have a lot of people on my side now. Maybe you got one of the "good ones". lol @@seanwilson512

    These paddles are like a box of chocolates!! Gearbox quality control is horrible!! Everyone they make is different. They send the best ones to the reviewers. I predict Gearbox will not be in business in a year. The cost of all their warranty claims is burying them. They went all in on these Pro paddles. This crap company now barely has a heartbeat.
