Couple things I forgot to mention. These are not waterproof but yet the leather is thick enough to get you some resistance for a bit. They’re not warm in winter, yet I had ZERO issues walking in freezing temps for hours with decent socks. And I must say, 90% of my use in these was outside. Very little indoors walking. No actual work.

I've worn mine almost every single day for the past 5.5 years. Still going strong.

I have the Beckman black cherry featherstone for over 10 years and the 1907 Moc toe for over 10 years. Wore them extensively for office work and outside leisure time. Only had to resole the 1907's. The leather on both boots have aged wonderfully with very little maintenance., Just recently started using Red Wings care products to prepare and deal with this cold winter.

I thought about buying the Beckman’s for Christmas, but the newer versions are a little more streamlined and thin compared to the older models like you have. I like the older ones better. Looked into eBay but people know how sought after they are and used pairs are going for $400-$600 (in good condition). Love those things! Just bought a pair of Thursday Captains Storm Kings. $200. I’ll give those a try next

11 months on my 8111s. Pretty much the same experience. Bent one speed hook and they have worn a hole on both sides of the tongues. I had to put on some kilties and prefer the fit a bit better with them. Nicks 1964 Mahoghany Work leather was a good match in color to my 8111s. The only problem, the right kiltie will slide to the right. Thanks for the update.

Wow, so I actually will wear a hole right through the tongue. Good to know. I’ll do something about it sooner rather than later. Thanks for the update. Love these boots though!

I put some hockey tape on the inside behind the speed hooks and that solved the problem, they do however leave a black mark on the tongue! Cheers

@ That’s not a bad idea! I think I have some flex tape lying around, might cut some up and give that a try. I haven’t had my hands on hockey tape in 30 years…god I miss playing hockey.

@@doublebase6509@BabakPA It's been closer to 40 years since I've played. I still remember that tape. Too funny.
