Great video! That is a really nice “in one box” way to start enjoying records!

That just might be the best one stop solution you’ve reviewed on your channel. From the fit and finish to the performance it seems to tick all the boxes for enjoyable decent quality vinyl listening. And the AT3600L is the perfect cartridge for it. Nice one.

6:00 Maybe it only spins so shortly because the grease is still thick and becomes more liquid over time. If it has been shipped/stored in cold weather, the grease becomes thicker too.
You should check it after a few days of use.
10:40 A weight on a string like that is not by definition higher end. In fact, a lot of higher end tonearms use a spring, because if tuned well, the spring delivers dynamic anti-skating force that matches more closely with the position of the arm.
11:40 how is alignment done for this tonearm? Because I don't see slots at the end of the tonearm to move the screws of the cartridge.
12:30 I wonder how many newbies will mistake "phono" for "phone".

Turntable seems very similar to early Pro-Ject models, like the 1.2, which I had back in the early 2000s. Even some similarities to the current Juke Box all-in-one systems. You can get the flat spot out of the belt by putting it in boiling water for a minute or two. Great way to restore a belt, and is actually recommended by high-end turntable manufacturer VPI.

For some reason my player stops around 7 minutes into playing. Anyone have an idea why this is happening. The stylus is not worn and the player is fairly new

A great looking unit. I agree with you that the top end did seem a little lacking but perhaps listening over RUclips isn't a particulary good guide to sound quality.

3 points of contact only work well when something is in a stationary position though :) That's why they don't make three-wheelers anymore because they were much more unstable as opposed to the modern four-wheel atv. The British car, the Reliant Robin had the same trouble, though to a lesser extent since it did offer more protection than a trike. Wish they had this in a turntable only model as I'd get one for my Ma to hook up to her home stereo. By the same token though, I know she'd prefer an automatic so I'll probably wind up getting her the atlp60x.

Well, thankfully this is a turntable and not a car 😂. On a lighter note, he mentioned the speakers were optional, but I haven’t checked online yet 😊 There’s also a very nice Sony automatic turntable PS-LX310BT that looks way more stylish than the AT-LP60BT and it has the same features 😎

Another nice little system for a reasonable price. Would be awesome for a dorm room setup, especially as it has Bluetooth input so can play music from Bluetooth capable sources such as smartphones or CD players with Bluetooth output. It appears to NOT have Bluetooth out capabilities, though, but that is not needed for this type of setup, although would be nice it want to listen through headphones. As an aside, it does not appear to have a headphone jack. Do like the dark wood. Maybe it is just me or how it comes across in the video, but the speakers did sound a bit boxed-in. I would have to hear it in person to make a definitive opinion on its sound quality, so I would have to take your word for how it actually sounds here. At least those appear to be true two-way speakers and seem to be pretty well built. A quick way to tell if that is indeed a steel platter (as opposed to aluminum), is to simply get a magnet (the specs did say it is an iron platter).

I'd be curious how this compares to the Electrohome Montrose that you reviewed a couple of years ago. As memory serves that also came with the AT3600L but a plastic platter. At the time you reviewed the Montrose it was around $100, looking on Amazon now I see it over $200. Would this Fektik bundle be a better entry level setup for a bit less money?

  • @Martin4982

Nice review as always. Is it just me, or is the speaker outputs marked wrong. I saw the left output marked as right, and right marked as left. If you're facing the back of the unit, it may seem correct, but once you're facing the front, it is reversed. This could only be marked incorrectly and internally wired correct. Worst case, just place the speakers accordingly.

Surprised they used a steel platter rather than an aluminum one. It has to be steel as it was quite thin and aluminum would be light with that mass.

I feel perhaps there are some attempts on their part to copy Pro-Ject (or more appropriately rip off Pro-Ject's design). The platter looks like a smaller Pro-Ject Debut III platter as does the sub platter (apart from the fact that it does not spin the same) and the arm.

I was listening through a phone speaker, but it sounds pretty dang good for an one unit system. Perhaps a tad boxy, but I'm knit picking there. This would be a great system for a beginner that doesn't have space for a stereo setup but wants something better than those suitcase players.
As always, loving your cool reviews of these more out of the way items. A question though, since you review most of these cheaper things, I was just wondering whats your main system consisting of?

every thing looks great I like the look but to me the speed is too fast even with stylus on record it will not slow down speed I have tested this with eight turntanles eight !!!! it will not change or slow it down even when I increased tracking force to close to 7 grams thre TT I tried this with aBSR 610 but it does sound good I would go out of my way to fix speeds which I have done with all of the turntables I have but this is a great starter sorry to disprove the speed theory note you are not the only person to say this but I have seen a lot of reviewers saying same thing but its not true I even tried this on a TT with a very loose belt I raised the pitch and increased tracking force with loose belt it slowed a little but as it came up to speed it still would play fast until I fixed the pitch sorry again respectfully JRo

I have a Pioneer PLX-500 and 33 and 45 are both rock steady spot-on. 78 is a tiny bit fast but I can slow it with the pitch control if needed. I say if needed because not all "78's" were recorded at 78, some are 80 or more and some are lower than 78.

Another Chinese knockoff of a Pro-next Debut. Even the platter, sub platter, tonearm and weights are direct copies.
