    Fascinating. While you see a fair bit of work in this flexible timbre space in some recent VST's (e.g., Straylight, Slate+Ash's Cycles and Landforms) and the whole MPE space, this is a much more extreme take, exploiting what a custom hardware timbre controller can do. Can't wait!

    Beautiful, Vlad!!! :-)
    Also, One day I would love to see an analog device like this that was hooked to my head and uses my brain waves to modulate what I was playing with my hands via CV (not just convert to midi). Kind of like Enner for your brain.

    Interesting, but clearly the development has a long ways to go yet. Btw, OSMOSE is able to use its multiple sensors to directly control enough of its sound engines parameters to fulfill the same concept of playing timbres with the keys instead of or besides playing just notes with simple modifiers like filter cutoff or lfo rates, etc.

But since you're using your one hand dedicated here for initial pitch selection already, the ability to combine the Reflex's realtime architecture with e.g. individual note bending and vibrato on a per-finger basis would be awesome.

    I sure hope that there is at least a 10k resistor between that huge ground plane and actual mains earth - otherwise you're risking electrocution in case the instrument being played by the right hand is at potential. It might make a lot of sense to make the whole left hand circuit transformer-isolated.

    • @somasynths
      @somasynths  3 года назад +10

    Do you need a midi controller to control the pitch of Reflex? It looks like the sound is controlled with the left hand, but for notes would it be possible to have a touch / pressure keyboard device the right hand?

    • @snailtoe

    • @snailtoe
