Ornament 8 is a creative and inspiration powerhouse, even though it may look intimidating. One thing to mention is that you can sync it with an external clock so you can use it as part of a larger setup with a separate master clock. The 8 part tutorial series that Soma put out goes into detail on it (Video 5 I think?) I would definitely say that this is a must have Soma device that doesn't get the love it deserves. Thanks for putting this video out! It seems not many people have much on this sequencer so it's great to see people making content with it!
@@PhilippeGiron Super easy! Just plug a 3.5mm cable from an external clock into one of the 3.5mm converters, then use the corresponding alligator clip and connect to the trig in. You now have an external clock. You just don't do the trigger loop like before. You can also use the pulsar clock alligator clip and just patch that directly to a trig in if you want to use the Pulsar as a master instead of a different clock source. Let me know if you have any issues with getting it work. :)
Great point on the master clock synch. That's something I suspected should be possible in theory, but hadn't tested out specifically yet. Glad to hear that it's straightforward!
@@StephenMcLeod Yup! Super straight forward. You'll notice a little difference in how certain patches work since you're no longer looping, but with a little tweaking on the patch, you can get it back to how it was originally working.
Does anyone know anywhere to get music gear on layaway.. as I can't afford to pay all the cash up front is there any companies that let u pay it up ...I really want an MPC ... I'm actually trying to get a korg micro sampler they seem perfect for what I'm wanting to do
@@StephenMcLeod Pretty much. I tell my barber his haircuts are so good they last for months. I pointed out that if he cut off less, I'd have to pay him more often.
Brilliant! Only Soma would make a sequencer without a master clock. I love Vlad's unconventional approach to gear.
They do make some amazing things.
Wild sequencer along with a mad jumper😂 great vid!
Gotta match the energy of the gear!!
This kind of a demo for Ornament was so badly needed. Thanks for doing it!
Thanks! It took me a while to figure out what on earth I was doing as well.
This thing seems truly incredible! I love how it works and sounds with your Rample!!! 🎧🤩🐀
Thanks man!

I've watched the Vadim tutorials, but he totally lost me in parts, and one of those parts was the external sync part

Did not really understand whats Ornament-8 all about but certainly felt the beauty of the whole concept, thanks for sharing!
It took me a bit of time to get it as well! Thanks for watching.
Great explanation and demo. Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
I got the Pulsar-23 in the match sales and not I kind of want the ornament and Lyra as well.. looks amazing and sounds absolutely great together 😄
The Ornament is nuts!
Great sequencer! What sampler do you used with it?
The Squarp Rample. :)
I liked this video, thanks! When you have something where you share patches with the x2 and pass functions, please share!
Will do!
Cool sequencer!
Cool hair!
❤
Thank you!!
Thank you!!
Wow, they are really unique! I have ordered Soma Cosmos, next purchase will be the Lyra 8. They definitely do some insane stuff!
Nice one! Hope you love it. They definitely make some of the most interesting stuff about
I’d like to see the utilities module if you can get your hands on it.
Ohhh what one? I've seen one for the Pulsar but not for this!
@@StephenMcLeod that would be the one. Sorry for the confusion.
Aha! I'll keep my eye out :)

Don’t most pro audio retailers offer finance?
I am definitely not the person to ask financial advice!
The thing looks like a giant pocket operator with the buttons
Looks can be deceiving!
E.P. of this stuff when?
Never!
did you LITERALLY CHANGE the name of your channel, stephen?!?
It's all in your head.
@@StephenMcLeod bwahahaha!! I KNEW shouldn't have quit using drugs, dammit!!
I see you got your annual haircut. Me too.
Did you get a Bob

@@jeffryarchambeau5441 Haha I agree with that.
Bro, take some advice. Want your channel to pop off? Talk less. Jesus Christ.
Luckily I don't give a fuck
@@StephenMcLeod Clearly. Lol.
