I was looking through the comments to see if anyone else mentioned we like the little video to follow along 😅 so thank you for looking into this feature.
I think one of THE most badass things about Reputation as a whole was that she opened the tour with actual snippets of the media tearing her down and then invited those same people to watch her show live. Those were actual words spoken by real life "journalists" and she took them and turned it around. They called her a snake and she said I'm gonna be the baddest damn cobra you've ever seen. What an empowering message to all the girlies who love her. Must have been so hard to do but she did it so brilliantly.
My absolute favourite line in this song is "You can be my jailor, Burton to this Taylor" and then goes on to reference Elizabeth Taylor's role in The Taming of The Shrew when she says "I'm so very tame now". Richard Burton was Elizabeth Taylor's intense and tumultuous relationship that endured their whole adult life almost. They were on again, off again but it was a dramatic love story. I love love LOVE her references to plays (Romeo and Juliet in Love Story) and movies (Machiavellian - I Care A Lot movie, in Mastermind).
Everyone’s second recommendation is gonna be I Did Something Bad - Rep Tour. 10000%. But if yall are at all interested in any Eras tour concert film performance, I GOT THE LINKS 😇

Taylor really seems to love performing. She loves it when the audience is having a good time. She doesn't put on airs while performing either. She's really relatable and the seems to truly connect with the audience, even in a stadium of 70 thousand people. It's crazy. She loves music. Loves creating music. Loves performing music. She's also very empathic, which helps with music. And she's pretty open with her emotions. She doesn't feel like they should be hidden.
@@EbonyandIvory1213 - I haven't. I don't think I ever will, either. But that's okay. I wouldn't be able to handle the crowds. I live vicariously through others. lol
To give the intro comments some context, Reputation was a “comeback” album/tour for Swift after a severe backlash (after which she disappeared from public view for around a year.) Knowing that is helpful in understanding Reputation as a whole - and for several songs/lyrics in particular. “Let the games begin” and “Ready for it?” work within the context of the song but are also part of the larger context of Swift’s comeback and reinvention. Prior to this, she had very much tried to maintain the “good girl” image. After the backlash, she was like f*^#k it, embraced the caricature of herself that had been created by the media, etc. and used it as part of the image/aesthetic of the Reputation era. A fair amount of Rep is a middle finger at the backlash and the message, “Fine. You’re going paint me as a cunning, manipulative, bitch? Then I’ll play the cunning, manipulative bitch.” If you read this far, good for you. 😉
@@brucebrown3837 that's the beauty of the album. she found love even in her worst time. she didn't just make a comeback but said "hey while you all painted me out to be such a terrible person, i was spending time with a guy who saw through all of it, saw the real me."
Let’s not underestimate the impact that Kenya West and Kim Kardashian had on trying to control a false narrative about Taylor…Using their platforms to go after her..disgusting..But guess who got the last laugh!
Very few songwriters would even be capable of that 🙆 Song lyrics that have the ability to shape shift...that have multiple possible meanings, often of completely unrelated situations, but she's able to make the lyrics work for both situations 🤯 using clear, simple, but brilliant metaphors that can resonate with anyone. People that think her music is simple are simply missing the point. The melodies are always beautiful, her bridges can build and hit so damn hard ("Death By A Thousand Cuts" 😩), she can change the entire meaning of a song on the last couple words. Does it in countless songs. Getaway Car metaphor? For when she was unhappily at the tail end of a relationship with DJ Calvin Harris and a British actor, Tom Hiddleton, caught her eye on the red carpet. The whole song is about that being the moment that her relationship with Calvin was doomed and she kinda had a much-needed, short-lived whirlwind rebound romance with Tom. The whole song is about that VERY specific moment of meeting him at the Met Gala - not exactly a relatable situation for the average middle class listener. But she uses a getaway car as the metaphor and we suddenly all understand exactly the feeling and situation. Where you know the new thing is doomed to fail bc you met them when you were dating someone else and left them for you so 'don't be surprised, it's not a mystery, think about the place where you first yet me' 🤯😩 so good @@brucebrown3837

Taylor is talking about Joe Alwyn a British actor. He came into her life when many were swayed by a lie told by Kanye and Kim Kardasion. Joe even moved her to England to get away from the hate. They went together for 6 years but broke up this spring.

Hi Guys, just saw your channel for the first time now. Will go back and watch "Is it Over Now" and see if you've put out any other Taylor videos. Taylor is a great place to start if you want to grow and channel. It will be all love from the Swifties as they find you since you're obviously not the type of Brad's, Dad's and Chad's that are just reacting to bash her (if you know, you know) or are only picking Taylor to grow your channel and aren't really vibing to it (those people become obvious in a hurry). Agree with the others about putting up some form of a video even if it's blurred or copyright stamped so that we can see which version of a video you are watching. And the inset doesn't have to be large - most of us have seen the originals zillions of times and it's your reactions and impressions that we're interested in. Some songs are definitely best watch live, others the lyric video is great, and for certain other ones you need to see the official music video. People will guide you along the way. I suggest also pausing the video every minute or so to make a quick observation or comment; this also helps with avoiding the copyright blocks. If we want to see the original video we will just go watch it. One more thing that is very helpful in exploring Taylor - have the lyrics up on a second screen or on your iPad and Google what or who the song is about ahead of time; this will help you in your understanding of it when you view it. Even if you're familiar with some of her songs, the lyrics are everything. Good luck with the Channel. I'm subscribing now and look forward catching more of to your journey.
Wow! This was soooooo helpful! Thanks so much! We will definitely make the adjustments listed. Thanks for giving your time by responding and also big thanks for subscribing!
Very well said, indeed! Love how you covered everything to steer these guys right! @EbonyAndIvory1213 One more thing: While watching/ reacting to Taylor’s music videos (of which there are a ton!), please keep your eyes open for all the Easter eggs, clues & cues she embeds within them. Going down your Swift rabbit hole knowing more & more about the who, what, where, when, why & how will make your journey & reactions all the more of a blast, and we’re all here for it!! Thank you very much for everything & welcome to the Swiftdom, guys! This 55-yr old male Swiftie thinks you’re great! Keep it up!! Lastly, if you want to see/ hear more of Taylor’s darker, edgier side, then I recommend the lyric video to No Body, No Crime, the lyric video to Vigilante Sh*t, then the Eras Tour performance of that latter track (in that order). @Hey_Jamie has everything you’ll need. Hello. Enjoyed this reaction as well (new subscriber) 😊. Good place to start. While you’re on the Rep Tour, I Did Something Bad and Don’t Blame Me are great. Some folks might recommend the Eras Tour performance of Don’t Blame Me but, IMO, the Rep Tour version is iconic. While you’re on Rep Tour, a couple others work checking out (even if you don’t react to them) are All Too Well and Getaway Car. Getaway Car is just a lot of fun and the performance is great. All Too Well is considered by many to be one of Swift’s best songs (possibly THE best so far). The performance here will also give you a taste of a stripped-down version of a Swift song. It’s just her and an acoustic guitar. Have a great afternoon!
With Taylor you have to do Lyrics, Live and Videos. She does it all! Oh the people that said all that stuff at the beginning were invited to her concert LOL Do not know who showed up.

Great reaction! Another layer is her music videos (she has one for this song)- I think that is another area that drew in her fanbase- especially the int'l market. She has always been hands on for the vision, design direction & presentation of her tours, music videos, album packaging. The era of her Rep music was very traumatic turbulent professionally & personally. Occasionally it's interesting to see covers of her songs by diverse artists in different styles. It shows how versatile the music is in many genres. For example, I Did Something Bad was covered by a couple of Broadway actresses- both played Elphaba from Wicked- one in the past on stage, the other in the future on film. It's funny to see - considering the lyrics. ruclips.net/video/44W9qstI8H8/видео.htmlsi=n4R403XFd2f2El2v Swift did the song on an awards show also. ruclips.net/video/uQS1GWJHJ-Y/видео.htmlsi=EKzizoEUh9ye2ury Tour version is good also.
She has only recorded a handful of covers- her are a few I thought were good. Early & later- for a contrast. This is a 2011 interview that came just a few years before she fully transitioned to pop. It covers a range of topics. ruclips.net/video/OOPFMrF7v4Q/видео.htmlsi=Urd1T7DL0gQ5eXnw 2019 cover of one of Phil Collins hits- the 80s inspired her 1989 album. ruclips.net/video/O6FXmdoGut8/видео.htmlsi=qav5Z38xikgoYw_3 2010 cover of Run by George Strait, she opened for him on tour ruclips.net/video/Aly41-rpd6M/видео.htmlsi=eOwjSHWy6I6z8glv 2011 Live tour cover of Nashville by David Mead ruclips.net/video/TYSvaVUmZGk/видео.htmlsi=wzZ8XBB4QONsbKea

Taylor is talking about Joe Alwyn a British actor. He came into her life when many were swayed by a lie told by Kanye and Kim Kardasion. Joe even moved her to England to get away from the hate. They went together for 6 years but broke up this spring.
Woahhh you’ve got the inside scoop! Thank you for the context on this one
Pretty sure in the times interview, Taylor said she moved to England due to what was happening with Kim and Kanye not because of Joe Alwynn but i could be wrong
Fun fact Red Blood White Snow is a reference to the snowmobile accident H. Style's had while on vacay also mentioned in out of the woods along with the blue dress
She has a way with words for real!
Very well said lol
She’s truly our Taylor ambassador here on RUclips & a goddess!! ❤

I’m a new Swiftie subscriber! Great reactions!

Yall are doing a good job for such a new channel. I wish you all the best!
Thank you! Goal is to take all of your guys advice and make this channel better with each reaction video. Hope you subscribed!
This was filmed over two night at Dallas cowboys stadiums It’s was sold out. This final stop on reputation tour playing soldout out stadiums Currently she playing 6 soldout shows in Singapore. Singapore has turned the city into Taylor fest,, Hosting singalongs, taylorgating. They have a fountain show playing her music. And thousands have flown in from around Asia for shows
Oh to experience her in Singapore. Added to the bucket list! 🤞🏾😁
All 2 are SWIFTIES HELL YEAH
Let’s gooooooooooo!!!! 🙌
T has always been herself I think she was 16 or 17 with her first alblum. Mad respect for her being herself and standing up for what she believes in.😊❤❤
Agreed! Speaks volumes in so many ways
all to well 10 minute version plsssss
Noted! Thanks for the rec 🙌
Taylor's boyfriend Joe Alwyn a British actor through Reputation, Lover, folklore, evermore, Midnights/3AMs. Sadly they broke up before she started the Eras Tour.
Thank you for that info! It’s important for us to get that insight as new swifties.. if you liked our reaction please subscribe if you haven’t already 😊

So happy you will be doing more Taylor!!
We are too! Stay tuned 😁
Amazing reaction! Also listen to jamie she’s the holy grail of Taylor reactions
Oh we definitely have! She’s been like a mentor!
Great reaction
Thank you! Will keep them coming for you 😊 please subscribe if you haven’t already and let us know if you want to see something specific
Amazing! Thank you so much for subscribing 🥰 ok we will definitely add these to our list. Look out for it!
@@EbonyandIvory1213 Jamie or I have a link to the full unedited version of I Did Something Bad - the one on YT is not good. ☹
With Taylor you have to do Lyrics, Live and Videos. She does it all! Oh the people that said all that stuff at the beginning were invited to her concert LOL Do not know who showed up.
Oh really???? Didn’t know that. Bet they won’t be invited again 😆
The next to do is to react to
I DID SOMETHING BAD (reputation live)🤝😁
Coming up soon! Subscribe if you haven’t already and look out for it 😊 and let us know if you want to see anything else
Hey guys! Gen X here and new to the swifties, but my faves are endgame, so it goes, midnight rain, false god, dress and would’ve could’ve should’ve . Those are all different and i really think y’all will get a great response to all. There are videos, make sure you use the lyric video for would’ve could’ve should’ve…it’s a humdinger. You should probably listen to dear John first.
Oofffffd these all are good! Thanks so much for the generous recs! We have taken notes and are putting our lists together. Hope you like the next videos we put out 😁
@@EbonyandIvory1213 awww thank you! Not too bad for an old football GamGam lol. I CAN NOT WAIT TO WATCH!!!
Good video. Thanks. Wish you guys would embed the video you are reacting to your followers can watch it with you. That’s part of the enjoyment for those of us watching reaction videos. Please do All too well (10 min version w lyrics) and Exile (studio version). Excellent! Keep them coming please!
Thanks so much for your feedback! We are working on the video part, and have made notes for the music recs which we appreciate 🙏 All coming soon!
"DON'T BLAME ME" next pretty please!!!
We have been given an overwhelming amount of Taylors music (in a good way), so we are working on that list but yes Don’t Blame Me has been a popular one requested so we will def be On iittttttt. Stay tuned! 😄
❤
Thanks for all the love! 🫶
I have that 4.5 pound bag of gummy bears! Enjoyed your reaction. Subscribed.
It maybe a sweet addiction…and the bag may have been finished by the end of that day 🫢🫣 Thank you for subscribing!
Quick…. Interact with commenters so we can teach you how to RUclips lmao . If you’re gonna premiere a video, be in the chat, boys! That’s the whole point! :) Also, the audacity to not show the video while you’re reacting to it 😂😂 you have so much to learn… we will teach you if you’re willing hahah
Yes, please let us teach you The Way
❤❤❤ they know what they are talking about
@@randystalnaker6700 🤟🤟🤟
Yes please teach us!!! We honestly just wanted to get started. Totally forgot to include the actual video after we uploaded 🙈 we got too excited.
@@EbonyandIvory1213omg that’s so precious ahahaha. I know Ivy emailed you guys, do you have an instagram? I’m asking here but also I’m gonna check the video description
I highly recommend "False God " live on SNL..
Ohhhh 😮 We will def give this a watch. Thank you!
I wish you also showed the video you're watching/ reacting too as well as showing yourself, but keep the swiftie content coming!
Yess, we are working on figuring out how to do that 🫣 Not as tech savvy but learning as we go. Coming soooonnnn. Thanks for your patience ☺️
@@EbonyandIvory1213 from a fellow person over 35, I get it 😂
Haha we feel seen 😂
Oh wow…opening up our eyes to another portal to explore! Excited to do a deep dive here. Thanks for your recs!
do eras tour version ready for it and don't blame me
We did both already actually! Take a listen and let us know what you think 😁
She has only recorded a handful of covers- her are a few I thought were good. Early & later- for a contrast. This is a 2011 interview that came just a few years before she fully transitioned to pop. It covers a range of topics.

Been learning a lot about Joe as we travel down the rabbit hole

Yes we are working on doing that. We are learning a lot over here. Just made the leap and created this channel. Now to make it better for viewers like you to enjoy with us 😁 Thanks for your patience ☺️

Yes we put that in our pinned comment at the top! It was one of our first videos but if you check the newer ones on our playlist they are there! Thanks for watching

Poor sound, no video. Hmmm…
Working on it! This is our second upload and just wanted to get started haha thanks for the directness though. Anything else? Something positive maybe? Haha
@@EbonyandIvory1213Positive notes: you guys seem really into our girl! We are very protective of her ❤️. We are a very welcoming group if you are fair! Y’all seem great. I’m going to subscribe but please get video feed 🙏
Reaction sucks without the actual video.
Sorry, you guys are missing the boat on your analysis of her songs. I can only hope you research her lyrics. All of her songs are written by her alone with collaboration from her producer which might change a word or few. She is dubbed a songwriter genius and rightfully so.
I think once we started diving into more of her and her life the lyrics started speaking out more clear. She is a lyrical genius! Learning curve 😁
Liked and subscribed. Y’all are great!! Reputation Tour is one of the best albums ever b/c of the backstory. Thank you so much for taking time to watch and react. Haters gonna hate!! People were so awful to her. After Kanye and Kim lied about her and edited the phone call it was a terrible time for her. They called her a snake and she left for a year and came back and used the snake to throw it back in their face. Marketing genius. This is a great backstory if you haven’t seen it;
