I saw the Toadies last week in Denver and I was totally blown away. Rubberneck is one of my favorite albums of all time and it continues to grow on me 25 years later.
Yep, remember when we used to make physical connections and bonds with people instead of staring at these screens all day? Makes me wanna fkin go live in the mountains .
I was way into grunge rock radio during the 90's, but it wasn't until I moved to Texas and I heard this amazing band getting heavy rotation.. It was the Toadies and they have remained one of my favorite bands since. I have seen them like 10 times and am proud of their representation as THE Texas grunge band.

My first concert was in the early 90’s and I’ve been going to their show here in Houston a couple of days after Christmas for the past 10+ years They never disappoint!!! I’ll go till I cannot!! Toadies ROCK!!!
Wow, totally forgot about this song, but I basically listened to the radio do I could hear this song back in the 90’s. I should have just bought the album. The chorus is so good.
@@shreever9473 idk about those two. was not a fan at all. the only reason i think we know them is because they where weird. like cheap primus. the toadies where a very polished and distinct sound as was hum which is why i mentioned them.
Been rocking the Toadies since the mid 90s right here in Indiana. Best concert Union Station ever seen 💯 was in 1996. Most of the crowd was from Whiteland Indiana high school...lol. There was at least 60 of us and most likely the biggest alternative fans at the time. Freshman in 98 changed everything there, as they all looked like Eminem....lol.
Man it's when their bassist left the band that they were never the same again because they literally disbanded...and a little piece of me died. Fuck I'd die if I saw one of their reunion shows.
I’m leaving Texas soon and this band in particular is a weird thing and place in my heart and life. From sneaking into Dia de los Toadies as a underage kid to being in the middle of downtown Dallas trying to be apart of a zombie walk and hearing “the toadies are playing!?!” and having an amazing experience Thank you all
This album was out for a while before radio decided to play that song. Mr Love was the song being pushed as a single. I interviewed them before they were a big thing and they were quiet and friendly folks. The second guitar is what set them apart...not a bad song on the album. Still holds up more than plenty of 90s rock. They fed us their backstage beers and blew away home towners goo goo dolls that day. I blame Interscope for not pushing them more.
Best times of my life! 94’-95’ I was 21 yrs old experiencing Love, Drugs, Legal Drinking, & some of the best music of this Generation!#🎸#🎼#🤘🏻#TOADIES#Don’tF$CKwithTexas!#RubberNeck
Just discovered this song through Apple Music, I don’t know how I never heard this in the 90s great song. I wanna go back to 90s for 2 reasons: music and fashion. 🙌🏼👏🏼👋🏼👍🏼💜🇨🇦
Its too bad that the guitarist that did all of the recordings for their debut album didn’t write any it. Smdh... Charles Mooney III is the correct guitarist to credit and it’s a real pleasure to be able to call him my friend. In fact, on 8/3/18 the original guitarist(Charles Mooney III), drummer (Madison Winchell III) and bass guitarist (Lisa Umbarger) all got together for a reunion show at the Ridglea Room in Fort Worth and played “Away”, “Backslider” and “Tyler” with Madison’s fiancée, who sings in his band Urban Gypsy, on the vocals. It was amazing and went so well that I even think that it might have sparked some motivation for them continue playing together some more, but I don’t know any more details other than that so look it up and follow them yourself for updates
