Vertical GPU is a great mod! I've used the V1 and have a V2 here waiting on the right project. Had to buy PCIE4.0 riser which was crazy money on its own!
Nice video. I was worried because the picture didn't show the mounting holes. I have a question about your AIO though why do you have your cooler lines against your exhaust fan? Couldn't you rotate the AIO 90 degrees so that your lines run to the right so they are hidden and away from the fan blades?
I could certainly give it a go. However, being able to control the ambient temperature to keep the tests fair is currently beyond my current setup, maybe once I get a dedicated studio, that will be possible.
Hey man I'm currently getting a PC now and I'm quite tight in budget so I only bought the Ryzen 5 5600g which GPU is good for gaming that isn't that super expensive
@@WnDTechI see thanks for the answer im probably guessing it's not good for graphic demanding games like warzone might as well stick to mobile since warzone is coming out in mobile too but will it run fine on roblox valorant etc etc that's not graphics demanding?
Making it work in such a narrow case is awesome. Have you by any chance checked your GPU temps after installing it vertically? I wonder if this setup makes GPU run a bit cooler.
@@WnDTechSorry to hear that. So is the mount bracket broken or the riser cable or something else unrelated? Would you recommend this vertical mount based on your experience?
@californiaballer the riser cable was possibly the issue, Honestly, I would still recommend it, however, only when it's on a discount. Not at full price.
My gigabyte 4070ti came with a bracket to stop it from sagging You use the motherboard brass supports and screw in the supports and the card slides under and you screw it in Looks really nice
Have a corsair 5000x rgb case & has a vertical mount already but it's too close to the side panel for the GPU (7900xtx magnetic air) to vent properly.. Just my luck:/ Looking into this as it seems a perfect solution to my problem. A bit concerned on cable quality but if there's any issues I can pick up a Corsair 4.0 cable. Thanks for making the vid:) Edit: I had to get a 1000 watt psu as well.. on the bright side I won't have to worry about retraining the psu cables:p & my GPU doesn't have any rbg either but the case more than makes up for it with x10 120mm rgb elite fans.
I found this vertical mount and pm9a1 512gb SSD which still has 2.5 years for like just 64 dollars :) The mount alone in my country costs like 70 bucks and you know the price of the ssds going crazy. Can't wait to mount my 4070 ti super aorus master :D
Picked up one of these the other day. It was a little tricky to mount becuase I use an air cooler not an aio, and my gpu is a 7900xt. So far it works pretty good with no issues with temps or loss of performance
First of all thank you!very nice video! I want to ask you, with this vertical mount it's impossible to have one pci slot free? For example, i have asus z790 hero and i want to have one free pci slot to install Rog hyper M.2 card, can i?
You can move the mount up or down the 7 pcie slots, so as long as you m.2 card fits under the bracket, and there is room I don't see why not? You might have to move you rear fan upwards like I did to allow mounting the bracket on the very top pcie slot. How thick is your m.2 ?
Hi thanks very much for the video you've made this whole process a bit less confusing lol . I've just brought a gamerock 3080ti. I have a corsair 465x case. Like yours it has 2 vertical expansion slots but I'm not wanting to mount there because of how close the gpu would be to the glass and the worry of overheating. Like your case my horizontal slots have the metal lines in between and I'm not wanting to cut them but want the gpu to be further back for airflow . This seems like a great solution but after just shelling out on the gpu 65 to 80 isn't a option for me atm . Would you know are there any cheaper alternatives please?
I would wait for a discount if I were you. I cant speak for reliability of other similar holders so wouldn't want to give advice for a inferior alternative product
Just info, the rgb of your motherboard still on, thats mean there is still electric power run on your system, did you unplug your power cable? If you did, better to wait till all electricity gone before you take out the gpu
I'm honestly not sure that's even possible. I've don't know if any case that supports duel vertical brackets because they usual need to use the pcie slots. Some use all 7, some don't. At least not without modding. Only full size tower I've ever had my hands on is the Thermaltake x71
If it's something small enough to fit behind the riser bracket, yeah sure. Like a slim m.2 card or something. But no. Nothing full size unfortunately. That's the only downside really.
I also bought this gpu mount and I noticed that my gpu leans forward. The further towards the end of the gpu the more it will come forward. Do you also have this problem? Thanks in advance for the help!
@@WnDTech thanks for replying! the gpu is actually skewed but not in the sense that it drops vertically because of the weight, but it is skewed horizontally. It's hard to describe, but if you stand in front of the gpu, the right side will be more forward than the left side. In other words if you look at the end of the gpu it will be closer to the front panel of the case compared to the beginning of the gpu. I have the h9 case from nxzt which makes this noticeable since the side is glass. Other people are also experiencing this problem but they all have the same computer case as me. either it is because of the mount itself or it just has to do with the pc case. With that i wanted to see if you are also experiencing the problem. Thanks in advance for your time!😃
I tried to use this on a 7900 xtx TUF, its pathetic and way too small. Cooler Master needed to make a longer, bigger version, with better bottom support.
@@WnDTech good video on how its used, but I forgot how small graphics cards used to be and the 7900 xtx tuf is like 2.5x times larger and it easily cleared 7 slots and couldn't even fit under an air cooler.
Why would you want the gpu so high like you've condensed all that heat and reduced airflow to the top of the case. If you want to access the ram it's now impossible, looks terrible as well. You've got no airflow to the back of the gpu which is now cooking your motherboard and probably the nvme drive. Good way to reduce the life of your pc I guess. Sorry to be harsh 😂. Lower it to the bottom bring the gpu forward so you have good airflow in front and behind gpu.
@@WnDTech you've got no airflow behind that GPU which is cooking a lot of passively cooled components behind it. I'd want it to be at the bottom half way forward between the front and motherboard behind but it looks like this doesn't go low enough to me which is a big shame.

I'll be honest, most GPUs are over priced right now, even 2nd hand ones. But it depends on what games you play.
That being said the G means it's got graphics. It will play most things you chuck at it if you dial back your expectations.

Providing it has 4 pcie shots on the back of the case, it should be fine.

How much does it add to the total GPU assembly length?
Put it this way, the GPU is longer than the universal bracket.
