The way I found best when it's just yourself, install the riser cable to the mobo first, then the case bracket and then install the riser cable to the GPU bracket and then mount to case bracket.
The extra room towards the front also does another trick: if your case has bars between the slot covers you normally get into trubble inserting the HDMI/dp cables since the connectirs are upright now. By sliding the vertical stand a few cms, you can thread the cables between the slot bars and connect them without having to cut the slot bars.
JUST FYI. the card doesn't need to hang awkwardly at the final stage, you can slide that bracket forward as instructed and then place the card into the bracket and secure in place with the quick release tabs. once the card is supported, finish plugging into the slot.
Man you gotta show us this in a mATX case because I think people going for this one are really looking to put it in a smaller case because it's literally the only Vertical GPU mount that fits in a mATX case. A define 7 mini or Meshify 2 mini would be greatly appreciated to see this in.
yeah u r definitely right about that. Why would bother having this piece for e-atx cases already when i can give 50 € more and buy a totally new e-atx case? They should have used a m-atx case as you said.
Somewhat agree. In my matx, the 3080ti sits less than a bottle cap from the psu and hdd shroud in a cooler master mb320L case. But in my atx, the space between the shroud and the gpu is so much that the case looks empty with the horizontally installed
Worse than that for me. The only place selling it is Amazon third party and they charge 33 EURO for postage (stealth charge) so it ends up being EUR 114,80 at least!!
I thought the purple was kinda cool. Figured he ordered that one. Not sure why they’d do that unless you asked for it. The cable is grey/white on the white mount that I just got
Don't get this if you're using an aftermarket air cooler, it won't fit and even if it does the heatsink will be sitting on the gpu's metal backplate which will most likely melt the casting over time... Funny how no reviewers mention this and I had to find it the hard way, useless reviewers...
Is it possible to have a NIC or something plugged into the second or third PCI-E slots behind this bracket? Only thing holding me back from getting one right now
You can slide the GPU a good distance away from the mobo. As long as you have enough room in your case. Also depends on how tall the pci-e slot item is
The only issue i have with this mount is that it slides forward when you try to plug in display port cable or HDMI cable. It looks like those two closing clips are not tight enough. At first i thought there are some extra screws that i forgot but i didn't see anything in instructions.
How far over does the mount push the gpu? I've got a rog strix 2070 super that i am trying to fit into my fractal define c mini. The case has a max length of of 340mm for the gpu, and the gpu is about 300mm already. So I've been trying to find out how much it moves it over. This seems to be the only mount that works in matx cases so i hope it'll work! Its just alot of money to spend without being 100% sure it will work!
I just got one in white because it was on sale for Cyber Monday. It would be my first time vertically mounting a GPU as well I was originally going to get the Lian li one too. But I like that you can move this one.
I just paid over 600 EURO for latest Coolermaster 700EVO case and it ONLY INCLUDED THE V2 VERTICAL BRACKET and that is absolutely shit bracket for the 4080 card I have. Will not hold straight and ribbon absolutely straining the slots on motherboard and GPU... it needed the forward/back movement to move GPU out from motherboard. Sickening that they only include V2 mount in a 600+ EURO case that I only got this month in December.
not this one, I bought it and now I have to get slim 140mm fans for the bottom part of the case because this mount can fit in otherwise, and I cant move it up because then it will hit the cpu cooler
Seams with the accessory rendering your pcie expansion slots unusable, It would make more sense to use an ITX or micro ATX motherboard with this GPU holder
I'm 100% upgrading for this i have Cooler Master V2 PCIE 4.0 because of this vertical mount rat can easily enter inside of my PC because of the single opening under the vertical mount im so angry about this v2 thats why im upgrading to V3
Just putting this out there that this mount is NOT compatible with the NZXT H510i. I learned this the hard way and people suggested to cut off the metal bars at the back which block access to the Display and HDMI Ports on the GPU. Seriously, why should I essentially destroy part my case with power tools to install the product? I found no mention of this when looking around the reviews for the product so you can imagine my annoyance after spending £75 on it. Looks like I can either return it or buy a compatible case which will cost me at least £200+. Not happy at all.
It definitely seems crooked toward the bottom of where the two pieces meet at the back, on mine. Seems like yours fits similarly. Card seems level, though. Very odd.
Is there ANY vertical mounts that don't kill the ability for you to use some of your PCI slots for OTHER devices if the case doesn't have some dedicated opening for the GPU above?
For some reason mine doesn't sit perfectly straight. It angles slightly towards the glass which is annoying. Also increased temps while gaming from around 50C to around 60C but its still within acceptable levels. If i had a choice i wouldn't of vertically mounted it but because of the Cablemod adapter recalled i had no choice. 40 series GPU's are way too big. I have a 011D XL and my Aorus Master 4080 makes the case looks small.
Hi Christopher, I hope this question find you Can you help answer where does the weight of GPU press down onto, is it the bracket that helps holding the GPU (usualy on the left with the metal plate of the GPU), or the PCI slot of the GPU (I heard Gigabyte PCI one is very flimsy and weak) that connects to the Riser cable (which I want to know before doing any vertical mount bcuz idk if it could also harm the GPU PCI slot or crack it due to the GPU's weight itself) I really appreciate any insight or experience about this, thank you ❤
can the vertical gpu bracket support 2 slot video and a 3 slot video card ,, i bought the new rtx 4080 super 3 slot video card , trying to side mount my video card
Will this fit in the top 6 expansion slots instead of the bottom 6? I have a bottom Fan that I'd like to keep if possible so extra slot higher should allow it to fit underneath.
The best vertical GPU kit I have used by far once I realized I need to slide bracket all the way out to side to allow cable to be plugged into motherboard
I have to say that this is a really clunky ugly solution. To have that raggy mish-mash looking contraption supporting your GPU is pure sacrilege - like having a nice lamp in the middle of your lounge room on a scaffold. There has to be a much more simplistic way than this. Step up designers.
I think this might also be a good solution for HTPC desktop cases that are not wide (high) enough to host these new behemoth graphic cards, I wish I did know about this solution prior to upgrading to a completely new case.
