So I took my 6.0 apart to fix a oil leak and put in a new steering box truck was all over the garage. Lol somethings came up. Then the Covid-19 BS. I had to work during the dam thing. So the truck sat everywhere. About three weeks ago I got some time to get it back together. I went to RUclips for help. Found Ron’s videos and watched them. He was helpful and detailed on everything. I clicked on his channel to see if I could thank him. Then I saw his son did a video. I watched it and my jaw dropped. I am sorry for your loss. He was a Great man. I hope his family is doing ok. Sorry again!!
When I jumped from gas to diesel years back on a consistent basis, Ron bailed me out so many times that I feel I owe a debt of gratitude. Thank You, Ron. R.I.P
Used this video to get back on the road. The gasket did swell and I had to pull twice as I was not getting fuel to the upper bowl. I ordered a new $70 gasket (unbelievable the price) but had to wait 2 days for it. I am impatient when my truck is down so I put petroleum jelly on the gasket to hold it in place. Worked like a charm. Hope sharing the tip helps others.
He was absolutely right about taking the fuel pump out to do it. I ended up having to take it out after trying to replace the cover while the pump was still mounted the plunger and spring came out had to comb through the grass looking for it.
Ron you were such a blessing to the community of powerstroke owners. We all appreciated you very much and still sucks to know your gone. But we know your in a better place!
This man saved ALL of us tons of time and money. If you are a Tech and you do this for a living well then face it HE Saved you time and you made money because of that. Donate to his family! They have lost a father, husband and provider. We cant bring him back but we can help the family. Pay that Karma back, pay it forward. Someday your family might need help. You can find the donation tab in DieselTechRons last video.
thanks. I may have to get to the cleaning part of the wif device, this is encouraging. I later found out he died on a car accident, a tragic event and huge loss. I donated a small amount just to pay my respect. Rest In Peace, Ron.
I was having the same issue.with my 2004 f250.. and when I drained the water separater maybe get a drop of water out. every few drains but was getting junk out with the fuel that came out. so before I seen this video I changed the filters but they where clean. so I looked on here and. I seen this video and did as Ron said to do. OMG the crap that was in the housing was unreal. thanks for this video rod u saved me a lot of money. cause my next step was to have this tank sent out to get completely cleaned out. cause the cost of a new fuel tank is $1,100 thinking fairway Ford in Bradford PA think there tanks are made of gold or something....RIP Ron
Hey Ron do you have a video on testing an IPR on a 6.0? Last week on the scangauge II it only gets to 7.89 (so not even trying) and actually starts at 7.11. Also, the ICP doesn't build past 2lbs. I cleaned the IPR (hardly had any contamination) and now I don't even get a reading on either. Don't know what to make of this?
Thanks Ron for all ur videos, have a 05 e350 6.0,bought new in 2010 with a delayed factory warrantee until 2015.Van has 40,600 0n it today, replaced coolant.trans fluid n filter, oil n fuel filters is their some thing I should b watching for or more preventive maintenance coming up thanks!
ok so I'm having a hard start. I have no oil pressure on the dash with check gages. I have changed the oil sensor it work and showed pressure but after a quick drive it went flat once more. the truck does start just takes it sweet time to get up to or over 500psi on the icp. would this be a icp issue or IPR. I checked the lpop plenty it's good. also when I have it under a load and foot down to the floor I lose psi in the icp according to my sct live wire. kinda lost on this one
I bought a new pump from the dealership and it not longer has the sensor. They sold me another connector to use with the new pump. Does that mean i no longer will have the water in fuel warning?
Can anyone answer help with in lue of Ron? Hello, I recently purchased a 2006 F350 with the 6.0 and the water in fuel light continues to stay on. how long should you keep the water separator valve open for? does the system have a separate tank to store the water? If you leave the water separator valve open long enough, will you eventually be draining straight diesel? I only ask because I left my valve open for 1.5 hours and it was still draining at the same rate as when I initially opened it. Thanks!
Ron can you help me out, My son just replaced the Fuel Pump on his 2005 F350 Super Duty 6.0 and now we are not getting any fuel from the tank. Any ideas as to what we have to due to get it working. When we cycle the pump we hear it running but after cycling it 10 times or more we get nothing. We took the whole assembly off the frame rail and took it apart and cleaned out a whole bunch of rust and sediment from the housing. We even went as far as putting the old pump back in which was working and now we get nothing with that. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Have you ever done a video on a P115a code ? Had one the other day , scanned it with a one of those pocket scanners and it said no codes, but it was running rough, lack of power so I scanned it with our shop scanner Snap-on solus and got P115a. What are your thoughts on this?
I wish one day I would get a video update from @ #DieselTechRon and then hear it was a mix up and he didn’t pass. I know it’s true though. My favorite mechanic ever!
Mechanic Dave Oh wow... I wish that would happen too. I wish it wasn’t true! It seems so unreal, and I have constant nightmares, even after 2 1/2 years. He will always be my favorite mechanic, husband, father, and man. Thank you for your kind words.-Sonya Huxell, Ron’s wife
DieselTechRon oh my!! Thank you for your reply. My condolences, I seriously own my own business and when I explain diesel issues I always say “DieselTechRon does it this way or uses these parts etc. I really do admire him. Best wishes for you folks these holidays.
@@DieselTechRon thank you for leaving all his videos up. They sure help us all when we are in a pickle. Many thanks for sharing such a special person with the world.
Yes Thanks so much for all your husbands videos. He has just become a big part of my life as I just bought my first diesel and my wife would have divorced me if not for his help. I was so excited to find him and use his videos and when I learned what had happened I was truly sad as if I had lost my best friend of many years. (I have just found him on RUclips a week or so and started learning from him)seems like someone I would have been good friends with...so sorry for your loss.
Any common issues you see. Have you seen any issues with the I believe it's a p04db crank case disconnected. Stock 2014 And any fuel pressure regulator problems I have a random crank no start condition. Sets code of p0001 p0091 p0090 all for fuel regulator low circuit open and just the circuit but let truck sit for 30 seconds starts fine no check engine light and and code disappear after one key cycle. Very random once a month give or take. Thank and your videos are always so informative. Thanks again
even from Heaven you are still helping me fix my truck. R.I.P. Ron.
Jim Wright Yes, he was the best help for my 6.0. Still helping me out even after he's passed. Now that's a legacy! RIP, my brother.

Hey Ron thanks my 6.0 has this problem
If you re sitting in the truck with the door open, and turn the key on, is it normal to hear the fuel pump running in the frame rail? Under the cab?
You are our heavenly diesel guardian angel.
Thank you Sr for all your videos! I gotta get to work!

Dios te bendiga RON,
God bless you RON.
Thankyou for everything Ron #rip
which of the 4 fuel lines are the high pressure
Seems to have been the problem.. thank you sir!
Very helpful. Thank you.
Living on a ranch, I have to pressure wash that whole area just to change out the filter. Why the heck did they put it there is beyond reasoning!!
Very Good!... Thank you!... RIP!...
Would this cause the water in fuel light to stay on and cause a crank but no start?
I bought a new pump from the dealership and it not longer has the sensor. They sold me another connector to use with the new pump. Does that mean i no longer will have the water in fuel warning?
