I've had an 821 for 2 years, what a fantastic bike , absolutely love it. But it's not really a starter bike unless you are in urban mode all the time. Learn to ride on a smaller bike it'll save your life. Ride on.
S velluso I bought a 797 a month ago as my first big bike. I passed my full test on an MT07 and to be honest I find the MT07 easier to ride, especially in traffic. The Ducati feels so lumpy in traffic and has quite a short turning circle. Once I get out of the city I love the bike, though It feels quirky and not as predictable as the MT07.
Great video, but I don't know how long you can ride like that and not get killed! ONE lane change of a car with no signal.... But maybe it's different in your country. I'd trust zero drivers in the US to let me ride like that.
The difference between false neutrals is knowing how to shift fully and not pretending you're some kind of racing hero. You're gonna end up a stain riding like that.

My first was a duke 390 and I think that's the way to go. Secondly you didn't mention the right fan blast your right thigh with engine heat in traffic. Thirdly the vibrations in the handles are ridiculous. My duke 390 is single cylinder and feels a lot smoother. I agree with everything else you said though. PS was racing my monster against an RS3 the other day and hit 233 kph before backing off.

I am currently thinking about buying it as my first own machine, I rode several bikes before including monster, but only as a test drive and didn't have any problems with it. After all it has different modes with lowered bhp and throttle response, making it more timid.

821 is the modern version of our 796...The 797 is a downgrade. 821 has single swing arm.

My first bike not had any issues. You can put in rain mode to reduce the power delivery.
