Releasing this a day early because we have to delay Oshi no Ko because of appointments today. Also, check out the outtakes after the outro video! Christine's idea!

The thing is, Shirou knows how hypocritical his actions are but can't stop himself because he doesn't know any other way to cope with the disaster of the last grail war. Like you said, he lost literally everything in the fire, even himself. Many people were dying; he blamed himself for abandoning them and selfishly choosing his own life in the fire, even though it was not his fault. The only emotion he felt was when he was rescued by Kiritsugu. So he kept clinging to that emotion as a coping mechanism; the only way he thought he could atone for and free himself of this survivor guilt was to save everyone like Kiritsugu. He feels for every person; he turned a blind eye during the fire; he had to save as many and more people; otherwise, he will fall apart from his guilt.
Yeah, he is idealist, stubborn, and sometimes makes stupid decisions, but he also acknowledges how hypocritical his actions are. FSN never portrays his actions as heroic and criticizes them through different situations and characters. 10:32 His decision to still cling to this way of living even after being called out is not because he knows everything and his wishes are above all and doesn't want others to tell him that, but because he understands and acknowledges what the other person is saying and why it is harmful for him by putting himself below others.

IIRC, if Shirou stayed silent in last episode, Lancer wouldn't come here, considering him as coward

@@TheGenreVersesince the dude feel unreliable when he just making a statement without any source. I'm just gonna say it for him, the source is the visual novel.

22:20 you mean Cu Chulain. Not sure if I even wrote that right, and I won't try to spell it out loud.
Some people even call him "Irish Hercules", and even if it mostly a joke, it has some truth in it. Dude is a beast

There are rumors that Shinji from Extra is almost tolerable, but who will believe in that kind of heresy?)

The visual novel at some point gives you 3 options:
      1- Punch Shinji
      2- Punch Shinji
      3- Punch Shinji
      I'm not even joking.

      @@someoneelse4939 Nah it's:
      1)punch shinji
      2)restrain yourself
There is a similar choice in the vn you are reffering actually:
      1)bring illya back
      2)bring illya back
      3)bring illya back
      Do your research first

If 2nd pendant would be just fake, it would be strange, but wouldn`t be really a big problem. But if you have 2 real ones, when it`s only one should exist, it`s not just a problem, it`s a paradox

So kuzuki is a mysterious character even in the visual novel but after reading witch on the holy night you got some more insight as to why he is the way he is being raised in a village with no form of electricity. Being trained to be a assassin while if another person died in the village there was no big fuss everyone moved on like nothing happened he like everyone else were just living for the sake of living that's why he's so desensitized to pretty much everything.

You were right, Gil really DO hold the lesser Grail this time.
This is the episode with the clearest look into Shirou's questionable decision-making so far. Of course, many people have talked about how he doesn't consider himself worthy of happiness, that he's broken and traumatized and mentally ill... He ALSO is very dense and stubborn and stupid sometimes (yes, in the novel too), even though it's become kind of a myth in the fandom that he's not. An overcorrection because of the DEEN adaptation perhaps?

Stubborness and stupidness are different things tho.....the biggest difference is that he knows that it's stupid but he proceed's to do it anyway because he can't help himself......the entire Shirou characterization isn't that he's stupid but him being a hypocrite. The novel also often uses the trick called "unreliable narrator" in whitch even the state of mind hides from us and reveal's itself in subtle way's when character's points out Shirou's bullshit or in a life and death situation's......if you take Shirou and Archer's dialouge's for example in the novel he doesn't like what Archer say's but he can't disagree with anything he say's.Shirou's action's are meant to keep intact his incredibly shaky value sustem,he's biggest compromise is his own life or when the life of his close one are in danger he's ready to compromise it.

@@алексейпугачев-л9й Shirou is not an unreliable narrator in any capacity. His problems and thoughts get told to you directly a lot. Shirou is always stubborn, and is stupid sometimes, when he trusts people who are obviously evil or when he says stupid shit because he couldn't think or when he can't tell the obvious about people around him... Sakura is an example. It just seems that outside of fighting, he's not that good at critical thinking.

@@nadoghost146 if by bad people you mean Shinji then yes,Shirou DOESN'T LIKE to think critically because as i said it shatter him and his value sustem.....he believes that Sakura is unrelated because it's convenient for him ,he also doesn't want to believe that Shinji is capable of such things because he was his friend for so long so he want's to see good heart in him even if it's not there and because of that he was eager to believe that there was another master in school besides him ,Shinji and Rin and he was setting boundry phield.Obviously he's not the smartest person around but when he supposedly finds out certain things last he abmit's it wasn't because he couldn't figure it out,but because he didn't wanted to find out in the first place.....
