I hope this video will show you what to expect if you order a Shapeoko CNC router! It's just a general overview of how the assembly process goes, and how the software provided by carbide3d is used. I didn't mention it in the video, but the scrap piece of wood I do my first cut in is held in place with double sided mounting tape on the bottom. I would suggest getting a piece of plywood to place on top of the MDF board that comes with the Shapeoko just so that when you're cutting all the way through a material and the bit hits the work surface, it will mill into your plywood instead of the MDF. Also Emelie is my wife, for those who are wondering.

Man, I'm very glad for you, can't wait to see all staff you'll make with this piece of equipment... Congrats!!!
Great to see you getting new tools.
Looks like 2018 may be a very memorable year for you.
Awesome! Congratulations on the new tool.
Bad ass bro. Good job on the bench. I didn't see it move at all. Looks very sturdy. Can't wait to see the projects you come up with.
Wow man! Congrats on your new toy!
OMG...what an awesome bit of kit cannot wait to see it put to use in a mod build soon...please make sure we get to see it in action again soon mate
Oh you certainly will ;)
I expect to see some intense mods now man! Congratulations on the new piece of equipment!
Yay, a new video!
I would suggest (especially for European customers) to get the version with the Makita router. This router is reasonably easy to get in Europe from my experience and moreover it is also a router that is quite useful outside of the CNC machine if you order some of the router bases that go with it.
The dewalt has router bases too but the makita has 4 different ones that could come in handy if you also dabble with wood (or even plastics with the right bit).
Just my 2 cents, both routers are very good so it's only a difference in availability and accessories.
pretty sick man. Youre gonna have fun with that.
I'm excited to see what projects you come up with using your new router, keep up the awesome mods!
Awesome video, thanks!
Great Tutorial!!
Love it man, have the xcarve 500mm...i think shapeoko with carbide create software is great! Great vid
Nice work man, should be able to come up with some pretty sweet mods with that bad boy
omg it is amazing
Nice video dude
Looking forward to seeing what you'll be able to to with her!
Great concise vid, thanks......
What was the run time to make your cut ?
Which one is good? Openbuilds lead 1010 machine or shapeoko XXL
Which size do you recommend ? Just pc modding
I'm thinking about getting the Shapeoko xxl , would you reccomend it? Thanks. That was a good video.
Good video my friend...
What tape do you use?
nice video
How setting the speed amigo
Can fusion 360 be used with a MacBook ?
Do you have one for sale?
What are the dimensions of the work table your Cnc is sitting on? Would you make it the same size if you had to do it again?
Yeah the table is fine. It's like 3.5' square I think
Great 👍🏼
Hey Dietec, I'm wondering if you found the need to square your cnc head and table as suggested by Winston Moy. He suggests a Universal adjustment gauge or a dial indicator with a magnetic base.
I will be using the latter. Will be getting the 3XL right after my co2 laser engraver ~ approx 2-6 weeks. I do mostly computer mods. Did you find the Shapeoko can quickly knock off cuts and basic simple etches and engravings on 3mm to 12mm acrylic opposed to a laser ?
Love your videos and your amazing talent with your artistic mods esp the clay built Game of Thrones Mask !! Keep up the killer work Bro
Thanks dude :D
I've only done cuts so far and not engraving, but it's worked exactly as intended. I imagine engraving would be pretty much the same thing
How did you go about level table/cutter
Looks good mate, can you get a dust shoe for shapeoko machine ? Cheers
Yeah absolutely
Can it make holes in alluminum for case modding ?
Yes!
Why did you choose the Shapeoko vs say the X Carve or another brand? Any regrets so far?
Just looked good to me and no regrets :)
Congratulations. Looks like it was hard to assemble. Lots of parts
Do you think you could do a video on an acrylic motherboard cover/shield sorta thing?
Sure, why not
Wow that's great, can't wait! Only acrylic mod I can think of that you haven't shown yet.
Does it work on acrylic or aluminum?
Oh yeah! You'll see :)
i have got a case moding related problem witch is that i have paintet with acrylic based clear lacker over acrylic and on the places where there wan't any paint between the acrylic and the lacker there starts to form some pattern that kinga looks like mold or smething does anybody know how to fix this
Not sure what you mean but, sometimes if your coats are too thick the paint job doesn't turn out as good
i am shure the paint wasn't too thick because both the black and the clear coat where only one layer well the problem is proberbly caused ba the generic no name paint i've used also i have fixed the ishue i had with the light shining through the plack paint by putting electrical tape behind the black parts
*lacquer
So did you just put double sided tape on the piece of wood ?
Yep, easy
So what the total build time. I just one and should be here in a couple days. I have never work with cnc but looks like a cool hobby and maybe can make a little side money with projects?
It'll take a few hours to set up, and a few years to get good at :P
You can definitely make some side money with it but first there's a lot of research and practice that goes into learning to use it properly
@@DIYTechTube Thank you for your response... I am looking forward to learning and having fun with it. it may take me a while to understand the function and use of the programs but I will get there....eventually. Thanks for the video. Any help this old man can get is greatly appreciated...haha
Download fusion 360. It's free for hobbyists (meaning you make less than 100k/year from using it), and is excellent for designing your projects. I really like it.
Copyright music??

Yoo amazing videos love them.🔥 Can you mod something as small like a Xbox one s controller?
Already did! Lol
I belong from India I want purchase Shapeoko XXL
Will u selling on Amazon
Please let me
What do you do with all these builds ? Do you sell them ?
I have a few sitting in my workshop in boxes, but the newer ones have been client builds. One of them is my editing rig too
Ok because I always dreamed of a themed PC inspired by the "Treasure Planet" ships from the Disney Movie (Look at some pictures by googling "treasure planet ships")
I thought about putting sails on top of the case and use fans to make them "move" like real wind, but I can't come with anything else, I just wanted your opinion and if maybe you had ideas that come to your mind ? If you're busy it's fine I understand.
I'm considering every options at the moment to *build* or *buy* a Treasure Planet themed PC. :)
For what you will be using this CNC ?
Case modding, I'd like to get to custom watercooling when I get good at using it
Nice. I'll be watching...
Llamas are pretty cool tbh
Man you do awesome job with videos but i think one big reason your channel isnt blown is poor lighting in your videos which make them look more amateur ... cant wait for the meshify c mod
Good point, I do need to work on that huh?
Awesome diet
Great song choices, man! Like always! Can I get some names here?
Also, who's Emilie?
Wife :p
Dietec oh, cool.
You got married? Cool beans. Oh, and ya, nice tool. Shiny.
you face like peter parker (spider man) ^^
whats a Llama XD
It's like a Pushmi-Pullyu.
Hamas? xD
…again…quick simple description but skip the tunes..!
lose the tunes.
Sorry… but the music drove me crazy…
why you lying this is your first time , look you know every step
wish you would have taken the time talk actually talk during the assembly process instead of playing gay ass music like that
