Wow! This made me remember an idea that I had about putting a lot of simple and low powered speakers in a restaurant, but the different thing is that I would put on every table a volume knob that act like a mediator for the main volume, so if everyone didn't like the SPL of the music in the restaurant, the volume would go very low.But if only 10% of the people didn't like, the volume would go only 10% lower. And of course, the speaker in the table that the people didn't like the music would had no sound at all if they want it.
Why not use an RCA balun and CAT 5/6 instead of a long XLR cable for the DJ hook up? CaT 5/6 is way cheaper than quality XLR cable and less chance of getting noise/EMI in the line. Don't know if you have RCA inputs on that processor though.
Looks amazing.. Only concern is Volume controls in public spaces that "Customers" have access to and can easily touch.. ex.) the outdoor speakers. Maybe add outlet cover minus the outlet.. decor style. Good luck, looks great..
Good stuff! May want to put a quality surge protector on that sub, possibly with AVR. Last thing you want is it to get fried by the electric company or some other other equipment on the panel.
I personally don't like the sound from elevated subs unless they're stacked from the bottom floor, but if it works fine for you and the patrons at the venue everything's copacetic. I love the PRX sub though, they bang at parties.
That sub is a beast I just bought a pair of 618’s I imagine a pair of these how it sounds Nov 7 I’m playing for my best friend b day party I’m gonna hook both of them with 2 615’s Planning on blowing the house down
Question, so with these pendant speakers, would they be good for a marquis style tent venue? We’re looking for ways to keep the sound to a minimum outside the venue space, while still letting guests keep the volume turned up after 11pm. By pointing the speakers towards the ground, I’m guessing that would keep the sound sort of contained to where we want it to be? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I’m new to all of this lol.
Sound is semi directional. Bass travels in all directions, your mids and highs are directional. So by pointing the speakers down you will contain the highs and mids. The bass or lows will still travel out from the tent. But overall this will be a way better solution for nosie pollution control as I call it.
The Venue is Dope, but why are they not installing sound dampening material to the facility? When Sound Bounces around it sounds like crap, like an echo chamber, especially if people want to socialize and talk to each other. Why No sub at the front? The people in the upstairs area are gonna hate sitting up there with that loud sub...lol
The walls are covered in white foam sound insulation. It doesn't echo much at all with the down firing array. The sub also is not overwhelming upstairs the dance floor will be right below the balcony by the bar at most weddings here.
Cool vid, nice place, the outside area looks awesome. Not sure about the floor though..looks great, but it seems slippery as hell, worst thing for dancing..
this was pasted from your July 27th Video....Hi Rick love to see the building, is there a video on it and where did the owner purchase the building...????
In the first video you said you use 12 gauge wire is it 12/2 copper wire or 12 gauge straded wire? Thank you for any and all help. I am starting my own venue and want to have a better sound system than just two monitors on a stand with a sub. Also besides the zone pro what do you use to mix the sound and does it reside where the other components are?
Is classed a temporary property? Whats company that did this looks good? What about lighting could make that very nice with up lighting...maybe show him them ape lights 👌🏻
Also, why do retail sound systems play the same songs over and over again?? The only interesting thing about retail sound systems is how they interface their phone system into the audio.
Probably so. The newer stores targeting the younger crowd are learning the social factors of high quality sound and playing newer music to keep them in there longer. Every been to American eagle. There sound system normally is amazing with solid bass.
@DJ Rick Web, the PRX sub works well for lows reaching the downstairs area? Thought it will result in the lows "stuck" at the top area and not reach the bottom area due to not being "Flown".
have them run power outside on the deck just in case situations & a leg of power down to ceremony area just in case you need power for something like lights or band....
@@DJRickWeb nah you didn’t, I don’t doubt you did allot of it but you had experienced engineers come in with cherry pickers to run the cables and the speakers. When you talk about the dsp you don’t mention delay which would be necessary and also you messed up at that section by saying “they, I need to finish off” It’s clear by the mixing 15” and 18” subs without a crossover video that you are not quite as skilled as you make out, but you don’t have to be, you’re a good enough business man and can get things done, I just don’t like it when people pretend they do every single thing without help or extra expertise
ruclips.net/video/9U0U-yy1fPk/видео.html I made a whole video on it.... I fished wire for a whole day, did all the programming too, with a lift. There was a seprate contractor running cat 6 for the projectors and tvs.
0 help from anyone. Spend 7 days in total getting the whole system in. It was April/May of 2020 nothing else to do. Expertise wise I did have help specing / sourcing the correct equipment though from canal sound and light in NYC. Good friends of mine
you are incredibly lucky you are able to still make money, not to mention become a resident dj during a pandemic when DJs are not able to even get work...
This man is not your average dj he's loaded pal and he will get work and make plenty of money this place is still currently being built that blatantly obvious
@@JGilly-cp1tk My company still has several places "still being built" however, we are not working because no one is hiring djs, and our clients are not making money either so they have haulted their projects
Assuming they're gonna charge guests a fortune (like most places) to rent the venue....they really went cheap on the sound system. Could have gotten better sound quality better coverage, and used fewer speakers if they spent more $$$.
I would highly doubt that. If anything more speakers. You also should not judge someone else on their financial decisions. Investing this kind of money in the middle of a financial crisis was a bold move to start with. They went super far over budge and there's always room for upgrades in the future
Believe it or not, there are speakers that provide great coverage area, awesome pattern control and better intelligibility without needing a million speakers cabinets for the venue. Brands that come to mind are, Danley Sound Labs, JTR Speakers and Bassboss just to name a few. I don't mean to judge their financial decisions at all. However, many rental venues, clubs, bars, etc across the country charge and make a fortune off of their clients yet refuse to purchase a decent sound system for their clients to listen to.
Those brands would not work in this venue because of the room acoustic profile. More speakers with tighter patterns at lower individual speaker spl work best at reducing echo and reverb. Thus why i went with this solution. If you would have used less speakers you would need higher spl per cabinet and would lead to a reverb night mare. Its also why I only used one sub. There is so much reverb that two subs to reduce overall reverb. This wasn't a cheap sound install by any means..... just in equipment alone before labor looking at almost 6 grand.

Good stuff! May want to put a quality surge protector on that sub, possibly with AVR. Last thing you want is it to get fried by the electric company or some other other equipment on the panel.
Best wishes to you bro! DJs will be your biggest critics...they’re either jealous or complaining. You inspire me to keep innovating my game!
1000% agreed
Not that is a sweet gig! No speakers to haul out and in. Pre installed! Sweet!

Why didn’t you build a media control center that controlled sound and media and in house dj and light booth
Budget
What ZonePro did you use? Also, how did you wire the speakers to the CDI 4|300 amp? Did you use spade lugs?
I dont remember off top of my head. Think it's 500?

did anyone see the AR in the corner 9:06

Question why not the jbl control 25 for outside
Like I mentioned the owner had these extra just laying at his house.
You should install em in the ceiling and add one jbl pendent as a centre
Got a pair of those prx818 subs they sound amazing .
Ever heard of Bruce Wilson? You are him
Lol

It is when wet. Need to work on that
Should use Driverack VENU360 and shure ULXD2 wireless mic systems. ULXD2's are not that expensive!
Venue 360 would be terrible for this install. You need zones thus why i used a zone pro.
Venue 360 is not for these type of configurations. It’s used mostly for pro audio installs or at venues
in the bridal room you should have put one set of polk audio speakers for them to listen to while getting ready
They have a sonos speaker system in there for them
Can you show the sonos in part 3
Looking fn awesome congrats. But are you going to install a set DJ booth upstairs or is going to be a multiple DJ area option?
Multiple.
Nice Venue but I wonder if one Sub is really enough 🤔
I think it would look fantastic with some Light Effects on the celing 🤩
Got to leave room in my upselling when we dj there

Do the JBL speakers come with a delay feature or do you have to add the delays from your rack? Congrats great video and build out.
You add it via the rack

No

can i have the link of the part one of this??
From one dj to another, glad your company is doing great. Best of luck to you in your future brother. 😎
Sounds great for a grocery store system made by jbl. 70 volt speakers are used for that application. Sounds good on video though.
Lol. Dont normally video JBL in grocery stores. Maybe restaurants. Not uncommon to use for loud systems like this either
