This was on BBC 2. BBC Four had a one off special in 2018 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the show. BBC Four launched in 2002

Thank you, looks good, there isn't a lot of live video footage of Skynyrd in concert, before days of MTV, & people usually didn't video tape things, the music they put out is so raw, real & just kick ass southern rock. I never had pleasure of seeing them live so U tube is it for me, as good as they were, they were 10 times better live. I wish someone would take on restoring some of the concerts, I am sure it is a lot of work. The band just put out Live at Knebworth, not sure why they didn't hire someone to upgrade the video if possible to make it crisper like this is, in uptempo Free Bird up tempo jam they played at sundown so there is a glare on some footage that would be amazing, disappointed they didn't, maybe not even possible.
But thank so much for this

Thanks for your comment. Yeah honestly it's all very new technology that's only now really getting to a good state worth using, but that's mainly what this channel is about is to restore these live performances that myself and others didn't get to witness and bring them to modern times. I've been trying to crank these videos out but it's straining putting hours into this process with virtually nothing in return so I give my free time when I can. You're the second person who's requested more Skynyrd so I'll definitely try to upload more. And Knebworth was actually a concert I had planned but literally as I was researching it they had just put out the new live dvd and I figured any attempt to upload footage from that concert will probably just get blocked/striked. Ideally I would love to work with a publisher to upscale an entire concert and get it put on DVD which is part of why I'm learning this skill and trying to build up a good portfolio on the channel, but monetization isn't really one of my goals. It would just be nice to get support from a publisher and not worrying about my channel getting striked and terminated overnight. Which is probably inevitable at this point which is the scary part of my foreseen growth in the future with the channel, it will take some great luck. Anyway sorry for ranting, thanks.

@@MusicUpscaleArchive No problem I get it, don't know much abt it but I have heard Skynyrd hardly ever gets blocked, some are infamous like the Eagles, as if the Eagles need money!.
To me this whole platform is a gold mine for new generations to hear their music who might never have heard of The Eagles before where as a ton of people doing Lynyrd Skynrd reaction videos which I find mezmorizing. Not sure why except it is so fun to see people's reaction to them for the 1st time, esp Free Bird because of it's structure, ballad then uptempo. I want others to appreciate their music because they never got the recognition they really deserved individually & as a band.
I have seen comments from 13 yr old, 15 yr old fans, it is crazy the power of U tube. Since I never got to see them it means everything & just abt every day I see something new, an interview or song. Good luck!

@@MusicUpscaleArchive This is absolutely incredible . Thank you for doing this. I would wonder if it would be possible to do the same for the 1977 Asbury Pk. NJ performance from July 13, 1977 ? there is a version that is colorized . Npt sure if it was done or original . That is the only concert footage that features the Street Surviviors tour material . It was like an early showcase .

Omigosh! What a fantastic video for the year 1976!! Sure do wish I could see Leon and more of Billy on piano! Ronnie puts his heart and soul into every syllable he sings. After listening to all of their songs, I Ain't The One has become my favorite. It was one of their standards way before they ever had their first album in 1973. 🙌

It's one of the best songs ever written . I think they had ohers like it like Whiskey Rock a roller and definitelty recaptured the magic with "You got that right " . That song will be eternally devastating . It was in some ways a peak for LS.

Keep in mind Ronnie was strugglimg with his voice here . Also . Ed king was gone & Steve hadn't been discovered yet . It was a 2 Guitar affair . Would have been more devastating with EK and Ronnie's regular voice .

True but still fantastic - because Lynyrd Skynyrd!! :-) I've seen several videos where fellow band members and roadies say Ronnie talked about having to stop singing b/c of his voice and that he might manage the band and his younger brother, Johnnie, would sing. Thankful for the recordings we have of this amazing band!! 🙂

@@PatriciaLen66 Totally true. I have heard that depending how bad Ronnie's voice was on a given night , would detrmine how long the Freebird solo would go on . While Ronnie rested the hell out of his voice , maybe chugged some jack, smoked a butt, gargled salt water ,who the hell knows. I did hear that about him maybe letting JVZ take over but we all see what a disaster that turned out to be. I'm sure Johnny is a really cool blitzer , but he just doesn't command 1/1000th the stage presence that Ronnie did . Almost no one in history ever did. Very ,very few were in his calibur . He literally was a field General . You can really hear how tor his voice was this OGWT night during their performance of Sweet Home Alalbama. It is brutal .

I really think RVZ might have actually had a real head cold here from the chilly European weather & running around barefoot !!!!!

@MusicUpscaleArchive: You need to change the year. This wasn't filmed in 1976. It was filmed on July 19, 1975.
