Thanks for the video, I ended up getting the Onyx as there is a sale from DVO on this model + 20% off making it $499 ... which seamed like a steal. So I splurged for their custom tune.
So this is the Onyx SC D1? If so, it's the fork I run. Love it. People sleep on this brand. But for me, it does everything I ask of it. Easy to adjust with the recommended settings that worked for me the first time.
I have a DVO 36 Onyx SC E1 on my 150/160mm travel BRAZN e-bike (it's a pre-production bike), and it's a STUNNING fork - stiff, responsive, and just super well behaved. I'm just over 300lb in old testament, and it isn't fazed by my weight one bit. As you state, it's GREAT as a Trail/All Mtn fork, though when I tried to jump it, I have to say that I LOVED it in conjunction with the Topaz 3 on the rear. Re your weight comparison, I do wonder how much of that (vs the Fox 36) comes down to the coil etc on the inside, rather than the chassis weight of the thing? Still, great video, keep up the good work!
Hi Otter! Greatings from Norway! Greatstuff you are putting out. I have this fork in combination with a FOX DHX coil shock on RM Altitude 2021. Not fully digging this combo (Onyx 36+ DHX). In your opinion, which coil shock would you recommend pairing this fork with? Cheers!
Marching the fork is easy bet. I have power play Rocky Mountain, so he is a concern. Shocks like Fox and dvo are linear so it makes the pedal strike problem worse. Ext ohlins have a bit more stand up in their travel less pedal strikes.
IT is short cage Linkglide with 11-48 Cues casstte.. The rear mech is rated for 11-42, but the 11-48 fits under it non problem ruclips.net/video/DLZMnDT7c48/видео.html made a vidoe for it.
I have an Onyx D1 on my analog bike and it feels pretty good in motion on the trail, but setting sag is super difficult as it takes a ton of force to get it to break free. I just had it serviced professionally as I thought that would solve it, but it made no difference. As I said, in motion it feels completely fine. Anyone else notice crazy stiction that disappears on the trail?

I’m large too 300lb with bike. I kinda prefer the 36 seems to turn faster than the bigger forks.

Hi can you add extra oil to the air side to work like tokens?
I do not think so, go way up in pressure is what I did. And add compression.
It feels different than a conventional air spring
I'm 275lbs on a cube stereo hybrid and struggling to get it tuned, do you think I'm too heavy for it
What range cassette you using with a short cage derailleur? Im thinking of doing exactly the same thing but using 10s Deore Linkglide.

@@OtterMTBtech Fantastic!! Definitely ordering them now (After I get back from holiday though)
The link glide cassette is strong. The chain is basically the same thing as anything else

1 of 2 things, first it is normal, 2nd the bushing's are to tight and they make a tool to make them bigger.
