CHON live is just as good as their recordings. That’s from constant practice together. That’s way more work than people can imagine. But it sure shows in live performances.
@@metalheadblues they literally have ONE song ft. Matt Garstka and you can actually hear the difference as soon as Matt starts playing!! How does one come to the conclusion that Matt records all or even some (as in an entire song or more) of their songs?
They addressed this on interview with fuji rock, where they like to add "musical jokes" like erick's solo in puddle they put a bit of super mario theme lol
I absolutely love his kit. I know it's a Tama, I assume it's a Starclassic Hyperdrive but can anybody confirm and tell me the exact model, specs and finish? Thank you in advance.
Jos Budon I haven't seen anything from either bands recently live, this is the first so I may be wrong. Still don't like the direction that polyphia has gone though...
I didn't at first honestly, but i still gave it a chance. by my second listen through of their new EP, i fell in love with the sound. not for everyone, bu maybe give it another try with an open mind.
Jos Budon yeah maybe, I've only listened to it partially once (like 4 of the songs) I'll definitely give it another try. I'm just so in love with the renaissance album, that album jams so hard haha
this audio is so clear. you can hear the guitars so clear. dude do they ever make any mistakes? holy shit dude...i am trash at guitar. edit: never mind. beginning of the solo he fucks up bad lol
i feel like the chon dudes are extremely talented, coordinated, and sensitive to beauty in music, but they dont sound like theyre conveying anything through their music..
They convey quite a happy feeling, an upbeat feeling you don’t see much these days, they kinda make music to vibe too through weird time signatures, fun melodies and crazy rhythm. To simply put it they’re music isn’t deep, but that doesn’t mean they’re not necessarily conveying anything if that makes sense.
When you get to where he is, you can tune your floor toms to your hearts content. You can even tune your floor tom to your hearts content now. It's his sound, that's all.
Drumming in a hoodie, under stage lights. What a madman
LEDs don't get hot mate.
Sarcastic?
soft much?
anything for the drip
every comment here beside the original is braindead in origin. apple banana blorange

Especially with mathematic technical tempos, chromatic phrasing, and ever changing time signatures like these!
That floor tom is thunder
Sleep dep in a weird way ha
Sounds good to me...
i was thinking the same thing
floor tom is naaaaht good
To each their own. It sounds great but then sustains weird. I'm sure it sounds good front of house. Awesome playing, who cares about how it sounds!
"Anti Polyphia Polyphia Club" lol
ha.ha.
is that true? or just a joke between bands?
guitar antihero polyphia's merch x]
+guitar antihero it's a polyphia hoodie that polyphia sold as merch for awhile. Not sure if you cams still get one though.
@@nathandrums0 I think you can still get an Anti Polyphia Polyphia Club T shirt
.. mother of ghost notes
Mathew Montanari wait till you see Matt Gartska
dude i know him better than you
Mathew Montanari Todd Sucherman is way better.
The same old boring discussion
M & B Jacome C i agree man, isnt it sad when everyone makes music a competition?
You have the best looking and sounding drum videos on RUclips. I am sincerely blown away every time!
Thanks man! :) I just checked out your videos of Eric Moore. I could watch him play all day.
super tight playing. This dude is a huge influence for me. Great video
I always wondered how the drummer performs compared to the album for CHON. And well, seeing is believing. Holy hell.
Heard the dude from animals as leaders records drums for the studio albums with Chon.
@@metalheadblues some of the songs in grow have matt featured as the drummer
@@metalheadblues they literally have ONE song ft. Matt Garstka and you can actually hear the difference as soon as Matt starts playing!! How does one come to the conclusion that Matt records all or even some (as in an entire song or more) of their songs?
@@tobymcguinness6478 actually it's two, Book and But are performed by Matt Garstka himself.
Brian Evans was the other studio drummer
Dude’s fills are out of this world
Did anyone else see that dude in the front that was just like WAY into Nathan's Playing? That's literally me at shows lol
Guest solo from Nick Jonas at 2:21
Braedon Avants the funny thing is that thats exactly how its written studio version lol little gag there maybe?
i am dead. i was just thinking how perfect they sounded and then the beginning of the solo hit. LOL
Yeah that is how the original goes. It’s a joke between the band.
Lil Wayne's
They addressed this on interview with fuji rock, where they like to add "musical jokes" like erick's solo in puddle they put a bit of super mario theme lol
I just want to cry it's so good.
Ive noticed this guy improves each album by leaps and bounds.
I think he was legit 12 when they recorded their first demo… im also decently sure 2-3 of the members are bothers in this band
sorry to break it to you but nathan wasn't their studio drummer, that would be brian evans
@@Vida24322 oh damn. Thanks for the info.
I know this a drum video but Erick killed his solo on this
This has a better mix than many live DVD’s I own. i e. Bullet for my valentine and coheed and cambria
that hoodie, lit
I can't wait to see them live
those perfectly placed 16th notes at 1:03 tho
Those are a good sounding toms! Great tunning, unlike every standard core drummer who tune their toms like cardboard boxes LOL
so beautiful
Their father raised them well. Alex Camerano, their dad, is a brilliant drummer.
Ishmam Ahmed I
Their dad is called Mario
@@Bayo106 mario is the brother of the bassist and the drummer, Esiah Camarena and Nathan Camarena respectively
I thought their father was Isaac Camarena
That floor tom sounds like he's hitting a black hole
love love love I'll say it again I love chon
I love your god damn sweater Nathan. Polyphia is awesome, saw them live at Chain Reaction.
too perfect to headbanging . i do heartbanging !! awesome live
Great sounding set and good playing sir.
one of the best
that collective headbang at 1:44 is too dope haha
Jon Chacko please check Painful By kisses from indonesia, they have fanatic fans there, collective headbanging than this
I absolutely love his kit. I know it's a Tama, I assume it's a Starclassic Hyperdrive but can anybody confirm and tell me the exact model, specs and finish? Thank you in advance.

Bro, you're crazy 🔥
Hahaha, anti polyphia in his Hoodie
Mc Sandy you do know that is polyphias merch right
It's a knock off of Anti Social Social Club lol...he's not anti polyphia
I really admire his music chon and polyphia..
I prefer chons style, IMO. Polyphia is still good though.

no ones gonna talk about that 🔥 hoodie?
Hes so good
Is this the brother of Alex Camarena or so? Just wondering, the ghost note playing style is a bit similar. And of course the last name...
best hoodie
Woooow!
Much better than the direction polyphia went in. Chon seems tighter live as well.
completely disagree. might've been tighter live 2 years ago, seen em both then and now.

dude same, but also try to find some live performances of it, they did a few in Japan, shit's dope.
How many extra sticks do you need dude
I personally carry 5 pairs, including the pair I have in hand so that's 4 extra.. You just never know haha
Dj Hamlin better to have and not need, than to not have and need.
His sponsors probably send him bundles, so he just fill sup his stick bag for the whole tour.
I personally had 2 pairs break in one set because of defects in the wood. It never hurts to have more than you think you need.
Record his right foot please
Beast
What size sticks does he use?
Is that mapex hammered snare??
What snare is that?
You're still in the club right?
That ending 😜
What ride is that? Just the byzance trad. medium ride?
I was wondering the same thing, I think it might be the transition ride but I'm not sure
Byzance Medium Traditional Ride.
Massive floor tom.
I always thought Chon was like Polyphia if they were more tasteful and less flashy. Respect to Polyphia doe someone's gotta fill that space
i hate when you cant hear the singer in a live recording
nice hoodie
That hoodie 😆
can someone explain the hoodie
Polyphia merch
@@AnarcoPostPunK69 Stupid question lmao thought it was a diss or something
polyphia hoodie and chillin at the drums, idk what u can do better

lmao that's in the studio recording too
It's supposed to be played that way haha, gives us mortals a good scare.
He wrote it that way as a gag towards nick jonas
im wearin that jacket unironically
the most baffling thing to me about nathan is that hes always performing in hoodies or windbreakers
Dat hoodie though lmao
Nice Polyphia hoodie
sound like some naruto shit
Whut? That sweater Brand Indonesia?:v
what are u talking about?
That crowd tho
Wtf the drummer's hoodie
That's Polyphia's merch

Anti polyphia polyphia club im deaddddd 💀
Man that Atlanta crowd looks lame af compared to the show i was at. They all just standing there lmaoo
The energy level was much higher the last few songs. People were just in that chon trance at first.
2:30
I feel bad for Nathan. Barely anyone pays attention or even looks at his direction. They're all so stuck on Mario and eric
Besides that painful left hand technique at 0:40, I'd say everything went smoothly.
his hands look really stiff to me actually
Joe Lackey Why's it painful?
anti polyphia club? lol
Is it just me or do the guitar harmonies sound slightly out of tune?
Tune that floor tom, jesus christ.
Cameron Young I think he knows what he likes.
I'm not talking about what he likes nicholas
