Bagabug the Stormbringer is the G.O.A.T. when it comes to 1 v 1 pit fighting. Give him a crew of hunters and they will usually break guard for you against other shield bearers.

Hunters do not I repeat DO NOT break sheilds maybe your right but I am sure as ummmm well as someone who's favourite orc was a hunter and they got killed twice by a defender

Hunters and archers take Argo from the defender and hit him from back. If you have an Olog they destroy hunters tho

You can recruit orcs before act 2 by sucking the soul of a rat before it starts to burrow. Idk how but if your lucky your soul suck will lock onto a captain no matter how much health and you go to the recruitment thing. Note that you cant shame them but only recruit or fight.
