The best version of this song is probably from the Tokyo Dome show because it was performed complete with tales of the destinies. It's a truly epic performance.
Let me add the performance at Wembley. Crowds raising the flags of their own countries and the screen showing the live streaming of the crowds from Tokyo. I was in Tokyo venue, at 3 or 4 in the morning, watching the "live viewing" of the Wembley show. It was the moment everyone got into one.

I have a friend whose daughter passed from COVID last week. I can't even imagine what he, and you, have gone through because it's just too horrid a thought to consider. A series of songs you may want to check out is "The Trilogy of Light" from Babymetal's 2019 Album "Metal Galaxy." In 2018, one of their guitarists passed away from an accident (fell off of an observation platform while stargazing). The three songs, "Starlight", "Shine", and "Arcadia", are thought to be in memory of him, covering the emotions of grief. Starlight being shock and grief, Shine being sadness, and Arcadia being final acceptance and the realization life continues on. In true Babymetal fashion, it's all covered in an uplifting manner.

Its pretty impressive, especially with the story that Su's inears weren't working in the beginning, so she literally had to Play it by ear ... Yeah, this song is pretty much a love letter to fans. 🤘🦊🤘
Excellent content Dean, thank you. This was the official video, so the audio was from the album - specifically the Japanese domestic version, so it was the half and half English/Japanese version. The international release had the full English version. They have switched it up as well, there is an "unfinished" version (basically acoustic, just vocals and piano ... it is beautiful) and in most live shows when they play it they will start with the "unfinished" version but half way through the Kami Band and Moametal will join in to finish with the full version. I expect you have already been told, but as they toured the world they realised their foreign fans must have been studying and learning Japanese to sing along with them. As a mark of their love and respect they decided they must reciprocate and return the compliment by learning a song completely in English. 'The One' is that song - it is dedicated to the fans (who they also named The One) and is effectively their love letter to the fans.
I know this is a somewhat of a long note but please please read this all the way through. I'm a rather new fan. I listened to Karate, Headbanger, and Shanti Shanti about a hundred times in the last 8 weeks. I gave this song a shot about three days ago. It hit me hard just a little earlier in the song than the guy here. And 20 minutes later the tears were still flowing. One aspect of the song that is just so sweet is Su's accent that comes through in her singing. I love her voice when she's simply talking. But aside from that, the combination of lyrics and the melody just completely floored me. I purposely stayed away from listening to this song until I came across this video. So just now was the 2nd time I heard it and, just as I assumed, it totally choked me up again. I was just kinda getting over it until I read your note. Blown away again. I mean this is nothing less than a complete love affair between a band and their fans.
@@fizzy4149 Welcome to the One 🦊and yeah, don't worry, you're not the only one they can do that to ... it is usually (but not always) Su's vocals but it isn't always the same song for everybody. Music effects you emotionally if it is good music - you will get the full range of emotions the more you see and hear from them. Give 'Awadama Fever' a listen with a live performance, that will make you smile again - its about bubblegum with special properties "its a mint flavoured time machine".
@@Grington300 -- Thanks Grington for the note. I forgot to mention in my last note that I also listen to Doki Doki Morning. You're right, it's not always Su's vocals. The dance choreographies are just adorable. I love when they wave in Doki Doki Morning. But my favorite dancing is in Shanti Shanti. Those girls are so so beautiful when they dance.
This song and R.O.R usually are the ones that get people emotional. But it can happen with the guitar solos from 暁 (spoilers). But I think that some just get emotional after they've heard 4-6 songs and realize that Babymetal aren't just some flash-in-the-pan gimmick.
I cry each time I listen to this song. lol Her voice is very special and their backing band (Kami Band) sounds amazing. Thanks for the great reaction. I too love all the LPs decorating the background wall.
I'm a die hard Babymetal fan. I can't even listen to anything else right now but their music. I want you to know that us fans also wish they showed the band more. In the early days they were shown more often, but as time went by it seemed they showed less and less of them. The snippets of the new songs they are releasing give me a bit of hope though because they seem to be heavier sounding than their last album, so I'm hoping it will showcase the band members again.
I call it 'The Babymetal Effect'. That unexpected, explosion of deep emotions exposure to them brings out!! Whatever it is, it's truly special just like the band themselves. Long may they spellbind us! 💯🤟🏼🦊🦊🦊🤟🏼
This song is truly special. There is something magical about the interplay between SU’s voice, the guitar melodies and the whole prog/symphonic metal structure that works very well together and it Hits me every time. Also, stunning stage setting + production. Great reaction :)

Wait, you got it all wrong, I'm glad not to see my comment there 😅 They didn't performed this song only one time, actually this is performed in almost every show lol The song that was performed only once was "Tales Of The Destinies" live at Tokyo Dome 2016, of course this song follow up and hence it was the only time they played this special set dedicated to the their fans. together. _We are The One._ _Forever_ 🦊🤘
Su-Metal emotes really well. She started out doing Anime music around age 8, acting and music school, BabyMetal is her 4th band at age 12. She is a pro esp. for her age. She has a few more tear jerkers that hit you hard.
Now that the girls are gone, it's hard not to let the feelings flow. This song is our anthem. We were and will be The One. Good react again man. See you in the next, Kitsune 🤟🏻🦊🇯🇵🔥🔥🔥
As far as I can tell from the snippets of new songs in the Digital Gallery, the 4th album will go towards EDM. I distinctly heard the electronic trance rhythm. Many people may not like it, but I am delighted, because I am fond of EDM and I myself was a composer in one trance band (Neoris) .. I couldn't expect this from Babymetal, but why not. Metal + Trance..by the way, I had such an idea many years ago, but I'm not good at guitar to write quality guitar parts.
Its really bit proggy song. But not most proggy. Most prog-metal Babymetal song is Tales Of Destinies. Its practically 100% pure prog-metal. And this is proggy ALOT.
I love to see BABYMETAL bring forth such an emotional reaction. It surprised me a little, considering that you are (I assume) not even aware of the message behind it. Because that knowledge makes it even more powerful, I think. And it’s fantastic how brilliantly this song, the performance and the editing of the video work together to capture this emotional message.
I should have watched part 2 first. I see you have your own reasons for reacting so emotionally. I‘m very sorry to hear what you are going through! I wish you all the best! That being said, BABYMETAL is usually a great choice when you are feeling down. Try something like „Awadama Fever“. (replying to myself because for some reason RUclips on the iPad doesn’t allow me to edit my comments)
Babymetal regulars here always forget that 'Rondo of Nightmare' also is a heavily proggy song. I've recommended it before, and I'll do it again now. Find the live version from Budokan (Black Night) that includes the 'Mischief of the Metal Gods' intro, and you'll see more of the band, too.
Thanks so much for featuring this song. It is a wonderful experience to listen to this song with new acquaintances. I can't express in words the beauty of this song, paired with Tales of Destiny, and the emotions it evokes.I also remember when TOTO and Brian Eno were great.
That was a really nice reaction, thanks! This is an extremely beautiful and emotional song, dedicated to all of us, The ONE. You are right, in this music video we are not able to see the band... so another reason to pick the live performances. They actually tend to hide them a little but they also have some moments to shine. We will get there pretty soon 😊
I have not watched this MV for a long time. It's so epic, I don't watched it very often, lol. But your reaction is great. In Japan, when we see a figure like yours, and old men including me, sympathize with each other, like 'We are getting old, aren't we?' I never insulted you, hahaha. That's right we did, if we watched this girls, right?
Great reaction! For me, this song epitomises all that is great about BABYMETAL, and our absolutely amazing community... Whether it be individual Kitsunes, or the collective "The One". You are definitely not alone in being hit in the feels... BABYMETAL can have a tendency to elicit such emotions. If you want to Kami Band shine, then maybe check out "Rondo Of Nightmare" from the Budokan Black Night performance. Thank you for the reaction. 🦊🤘🔥❤️
This is as magnificent a song as Seal's "Kissed By a Rose" but executed with more layers and Su-Metal's ultra clear voice. A prog masterpiece with Rush or Yes style instrumentals.
I thought I was the only one that cries when listening to Babymetal?! My wife doesn’t understand it. Either you get it or you dont. ….I think the crying is due to the shear perfection of the performance
This song is perfect. The guitar, choreography even the mix of Japanese and English just flow so well. The instrumental solo has always been funny to me because I picture su-metal as a mad scientist staring down with an evil plan while her two "henchmen" are smiling knowing the secret.
Below is a link to an alternate version of the song, they released it last year to end the 10 yr chapter of the band. They've been teasing new music recently and you can hear it has prog elements to itruclips.net/video/WHphfTnJj90/видео.html
I'm with you brother... this song is so beautiful and intense it brings tears to my eyes. I've seen BM in concert 5 times now (sadly all after Yui departed); what I would give to see and hear them perform this at a show...
I'm a very new bm fan and only heard this song for the first time about three days ago. I think it hit me a little bit earlier in the song than you. The song finished and my app simply continued to play whatever was next on the list. I could not pay one bit of attention to the songs that came next. And about 5 or so songs later tears were still flowing from this one. I love Su's voice even when she's just talking especially when she's speaking English. To hear her sing in English, and to hear that innocent and sweet accent through her singing just really charmed me. That's the best that I can explain it. I purposely avoided listening to that song until today. So hearing this with you was only the 2nd time hearing it. It hit me again. I'm sitting in the parking lot of my apartment typing this out. Just wanted to share my experience too. Thanks for the video. I thought the guitar was a little Steve Vai ish. Does anyone else think that?
This band the girls and kami have hit me like a ton of lead, wow! I cried when the interlude vocals hit like angels, which in my declining health made me feel well. Now when I’m feeling really bad their music soothes my heart and soul, truly makes me feel better! Unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be alive when the new tour comes to the USA however things go it’s nice to a part of “the one.” Thank you BabyMetal ❤
Songs are SUPPOSED to move you (sorry on your loss). "The One" is guaranteed to make me cry every time. Probably the most emotional song for fans as as others have said this is their tribute to their fans (The One refers to both the fans and BM - 'for together we are The One').. This song is usually performed at most concerts now and you see grown metal heads aroud your crying. (The Tales of Destiny is the original first part that has only been done once). I am not a fan of this video compiliation as it uses to much video from songs other than The One. It is at its most powerful when Su just stands and sings it solo with just a piano then half way through the band and Moa join her. On the band - much as fans love the Kami Band as they are known, they are simply hired backing musicans for the concerts. BM solely consists now of SU-METAL and MOAMETAL (YUIMETAL having left in 2017/18 due to undisclosed health reasons. Her third spot is now filled by a backing dancer known as an Avenger). Of course we all acknowledge just how good the Kami band guys are and many fans follow them and their own careers and they are much loved.
You wished they'd show the band more... IMO, the best video that showcases the band is their performance of Gimme Chocolate on the Stephen Colbert show. Sure other songs give the kami band a dedicated intro, but the Colbert Show performance features the band and the girls on a tiny stage. They're all in the shot most of the time and the all of them seem to be having so much fun! Check it out even if you don't react to it. It's a fun watch.
My reaction was the same as yours Dean, like the prolonged ending are all the preborn children wailing to the One, the individual one womb body and the one collective dismissiveness hiding behind each other, away from responsibility.
Beautiful melody, beautiful singing, beautiful staging, beautiful emotional tribute. As much as I love East/West Kami bands, I think seeing them in god-paint or demon masks would have killed the mood some.
Unfortunately, you can't find it for free anywhere unless you buy the dvd(too expensive) or buy it through youtube music(which I did). Concert is well worth it even though Yuimetal quit BM because of health reasons before the concert. Concert features one of the best openings (In the Name of) and 2 song endings ("BabyMetal Death" - Crucifixion of SuMetal and "The One"-Resurrection of SuMetal) of any concert you've ever seen.
I think you may be mixed up a little. They've performed this live a hundred times. Tales of the destinies is the crazy prog song that they may have only performed once
" The One" has been performed multiple times on tours by BabyMetal. HOWEVER, this production using the flying cage was only used for 2 nights in Tokyo for the filming of their Blu-Ray release.
Damn, I love this song so much. I always feel I am carried into the sky with it as well. I really prefer this version for some reason. I guess it's the sense of "togetherness" that the combined English & Japanese makes me feel.
The girls and the Kami Band are a perfect match. Here's a link to another song that shows how great they were/are together ruclips.net/video/LNFiDWJh2FA/видео.html
Ah, the trash bag costumes are back... "Tales of the Destinies" and "The One" were conceived together and when you hear them together you get an even greater emotional impact than with "The One" on it's own. I bought the Tokyo Dome DVD just for the live perofrmance of "Tales of the Destinies" and "The One". It's 20 mins of brilliant emotional manipulation. "The One" has a great melody and it reminds me of those epic prog rock productions of the 70s and 80s - it could be Yes and the comparison is high praise for BM's producer, Kei Kobayashi, the song writers, BM and the Kamis. Su, Moa and Yui sing it beautifully, but the English lyrics are a bit clunky, IMO, and I prefer the version you reviewed that has some Japanese. This song it a gift from BM to their fans and it has an amazing emotional impact. BM are a real contradiction. Kobayashi is famously careful not to allow any publicity with the girls outside of their BM personas, but he does try to "bridge the gap" to the fans with the flying pyramid and also with various thrust stages in other concerts. Many fans feel a deep connection with BM and its members, particularly if they have followed the group from their start with Sakura Gakuin. Kobayashi has build on the connection with lore and emotional songs and the fans have created their own sub-culture, lore and memes, involving tomatoes, Deloreans, frogs etc. However, when a fanbase identifies so strongly with a group change can be difficult and that was shown when Yui left. Many fans still miss Yui and BM have not yet replaced what she brought to the performances or moved beyond that.
I'M AN ELECTRONIC MUSIC PRODUCER AND DJ...BUT WHEN I MET BABYMETAL...IT CHANGED MY LIFE...IT'S DIFFICULT TO EXPLAIN...IT'S MAGIC

Well said very well said
I know this is a somewhat of a long note but please please read this all the way through.
@@Grington300 -- And I'll certainly give Awadama Fever a listen.
I too love all the LPs decorating the background wall.
thanks

Thanks, take care! 🤗
yeeees👍️I also cried. The best! BABYMETAL ❤️🤘fox 🤘
I'm a die hard Babymetal fan. I can't even listen to anything else right now but their music. I want you to know that us fans also wish they showed the band more. In the early days they were shown more often, but as time went by it seemed they showed less and less of them. The snippets of the new songs they are releasing give me a bit of hope though because they seem to be heavier sounding than their last album, so I'm hoping it will showcase the band members again.
the same as what i think…
Great reaction. Welcome to The ONE.
They bring out the feels in all of us every time.
BABYMETAL FOREVER
🤘🤘🤘
thanks
I call it 'The Babymetal Effect'. That unexpected, explosion of deep emotions exposure to them brings out!! Whatever it is, it's truly special just like the band themselves. Long may they spellbind us! 💯🤟🏼🦊🦊🦊🤟🏼
This song is truly special. There is something magical about the interplay between SU’s voice, the guitar melodies and the whole prog/symphonic metal structure that works very well together and it Hits me every time. Also, stunning stage setting + production. Great reaction :)
Name as many metal songs as you can that make you tear up.
They're all Babymetal.
Kitsune up!
"Don't think, feel" Yeah, Su-Metal word is true, it's touching when the power of music evoke emotion in someone.
dude this is my FAV Babymetal song ❤❤ its so powerful musically and lyrically
Dont worry it gets me too. Im not even a fan of Babymetal but something about this song and video, its too epic and too much for my emotions.
This is the magic of BabyMetal... Or the power of Fox God. Nothing left to say, only two songs and you already feel it. Hope you can come back with more of them.
May the Fox God bless you 🦊🤘
-NotACult-
Wait, you got it all wrong, I'm glad not to see my comment there 😅
They didn't performed this song only one time, actually this is performed in almost every show lol
The song that was performed only once was "Tales Of The Destinies" live at Tokyo Dome 2016, of course this song follow up and hence it was the only time they played this special set dedicated to the their fans. together.
_We are The One._
_Forever_

Not a cult 😂
Su-Metal emotes really well. She started out doing Anime music around age 8, acting and music school, BabyMetal is her 4th band at age 12. She is a pro esp. for her age. She has a few more tear jerkers that hit you hard.
Forever THE ONE ❤️🤘🦊🤘
If there is emotion you need to get out BabyMetal will do it 🤘🦊❤❤❤
Now that the girls are gone, it's hard not to let the feelings flow. This song is our anthem. We were and will be The One. Good react again man. See you in the next, Kitsune 🤟🏻🦊🇯🇵🔥🔥🔥
They already starting to come back! Are u reading news? 4 album will be released. Now its 100% info.
> "Now that the girls are gone"
We won't start a little rumor, won't we?
@@rexeros8825 The Other One lives 🦊
And this is proggy ALOT.
thank you for your reaction from Japan.
i believe …
whenever your sweet angel Natalie is on your side.
forever.
😊thank you
I love to see BABYMETAL bring forth such an emotional reaction.
(replying to myself because for some reason RUclips on the iPad doesn’t allow me to edit my comments)
thanks so much.
good choice,good reaction of Babymetal.
We are Babymetal.
Babymetal regulars here always forget that 'Rondo of Nightmare' also is a heavily proggy song. I've recommended it before, and I'll do it again now. Find the live version from Budokan (Black Night) that includes the 'Mischief of the Metal Gods' intro, and you'll see more of the band, too.
ok👍
i started listen to that song the one that yui metal just leave the band, i almost cried
Yea
Me to brother. They recently released a new version. Stripped down. Piano and strings. Very cool. Rock on!😊😎🤘
excellent content Dean-Metal

Together forever, we are all one.
yes, thanks
So, did you just become a Proud Uncle?
Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!
You are not alone! When I saw the Wembley show on DVD, on the last song My Tears was flooding of happiness!
Wembley 😁🤘🦊
@@martinmetal7481 Autospelling sucks. Changing.....
@@davidornberg you telling me hslf my edits are through auto spelling 🤣🤘🦊
rondo is next
It was a wonderful reaction video this time as well.
I could feel your love for BABYMETAL from this video.
Thank you
🦊🤘
This is as magnificent a song as Seal's "Kissed By a Rose" but executed with more layers and Su-Metal's ultra clear voice. A prog masterpiece with Rush or Yes style instrumentals.
You're far from the first grown man brought to tears by this powerful music. It's a great thing!
good reaction man , so emotional
I love them so much!
nice reaction❗Its great❗ Thank you‼️
I thought I was the only one that cries when listening to Babymetal?! My wife doesn’t understand it. Either you get it or you dont. ….I think the crying is due to the shear perfection of the performance
I am a member of the One, I truly love that this song is written for there fans.
I'm planning a trip to see them live in Japan can't wait.
Awesome, enjoy it!
They've been teasing new music recently and you can hear it has prog elements to itruclips.net/video/WHphfTnJj90/видео.html

damn it, watched this again 6 months later and you and the girls made me cry again, thx i needed that.
👍🙏
I'm with you brother... this song is so beautiful and intense it brings tears to my eyes. I've seen BM in concert 5 times now (sadly all after Yui departed); what I would give to see and hear them perform this at a show...
The one☝️
What makes it more emotional is that not long after Yui could no longer perform due to health issues and the trio became a duo. We miss you Yui
Best way I can put it: Su's voice is proof that angels exist. And I don't even believe in that sort of thing 🤘
This band the girls and kami have hit me like a ton of lead, wow! I cried when the interlude vocals hit like angels, which in my declining health made me feel well. Now when I’m feeling really bad their music soothes my heart and soul, truly makes me feel better! Unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be alive when the new tour comes to the USA however things go it’s nice to a part of “the one.” Thank you BabyMetal ❤
thanks Lawrence, hang in there
Songs are SUPPOSED to move you (sorry on your loss).
Thank you
If you had told me that this was Howe and Squire on guitar and bass, I would have believed it.
I feel you man.
amazing !!
🤘🦊🤘
My fav song man. Hit me in the feels as well
リードギターの演奏が雄大で、スーの美しい声を強力に盛り上げてる
You wished they'd show the band more... IMO, the best video that showcases the band is their performance of Gimme Chocolate on the Stephen Colbert show. Sure other songs give the kami band a dedicated intro, but the Colbert Show performance features the band and the girls on a tiny stage. They're all in the shot most of the time and the all of them seem to be having so much fun! Check it out even if you don't react to it. It's a fun watch.
Don't know why, but some parts of the song remain me of Angels Have Fallen from Kansas, the album Monolith. Never the less The one is a brilliant song
Dood, The Wake on vinyl and love the Roll the Bones flyer! Voivod the Wake is amazing.
We are the one.
Those girls got nerves of steel floating out over the crowd like that rotating through the air has to be nerve rackimg
Ijime dame zettai is another good song with a message
My reaction was the same as yours Dean, like the prolonged ending are all the preborn children wailing to the One, the individual one womb body and the one collective dismissiveness hiding behind each other, away from responsibility.
Beautiful melody, beautiful singing, beautiful staging, beautiful emotional tribute. As much as I love East/West Kami bands, I think seeing them in god-paint or demon masks would have killed the mood some.
Excellent reaction. If you like emotional Babymetal, you can try Babymetal - Karate live at Budokan.
Dont feel bad my man they even choked up David Heretic twice

The best live version of " The One" is from the Legend S Baptism XX concert. 100 times more emotional
hmm, I may want to check this out, thanks for the link
Unfortunately, you can't find it for free anywhere unless you buy the dvd(too expensive) or buy it through youtube music(which I did). Concert is well worth it even though Yuimetal quit BM because of health reasons before the concert. Concert features one of the best openings (In the Name of) and 2 song endings ("BabyMetal Death" - Crucifixion of SuMetal and "The One"-Resurrection of SuMetal) of any concert you've ever seen.
Seeing moa cry :’(
I think you may be mixed up a little. They've performed this live a hundred times. Tales of the destinies is the crazy prog song that they may have only performed once
Damn, I love Dream Theater.
私この録画される前の日に行ったんですよね・・・。その日は一曲目がこの曲で・・・世界初公開だったからぶったまげて号泣したのは覚えてます。
いいね。共有してくれてありがとう。
" The One" has been performed multiple times on tours by BabyMetal. HOWEVER, this production using the flying cage was only used for 2 nights in Tokyo for the filming of their Blu-Ray release.
Damn, I love this song so much. I always feel I am carried into the sky with it as well. I really prefer this version for some reason. I guess it's the sense of "togetherness" that the combined English & Japanese makes me feel.
The girls and the Kami Band are a perfect match. Here's a link to another song that shows how great they were/are together

Been there, done that 😢
😩
I just don’t understand it, but sometimes I have the same exact reaction.
They have played The One more than once in concert, I saw them in Orlando in 2019 and they played it...
Miss Yui!
