- In this video, I show you how to find the saved password for any Wifi SSID that's stored on your Windows computer using the command prompt. This method will work whether you're connected to the wifi network or not, and will work for Windows 10 (as well as Windows 7 and 8). I'll use a built-in Windows utility called NetShell (netsh) from the command prompt to reveal the passwords for any and all SSID's to which you've connected and for which you've saved passwords in the past.

excellent job, my family just changed the internet from one company to another, so I wanted to change the wifi on the new router to that of the old one, so it would just "roll over" for the other users on the network. Better this way then going to all 15 devices and setting up the new one on each device.
Thank you. Sometime the most elegant answer is the simplest :) - I probably haven't changed my SSID for 15 years through several routers.
Useful simple short to the point video. Nice and thanks

Thank you very much. my laptop would just stop logging on to the net. after following your steps I found that the "Connet automatically" was unticked. Thank you for saving me having to call a technician. They are not cheap.

When i try to find the saved password, it works only on single word Wifi SSID, but doesn't work on multiple words SSID with spacing.
It shows like this "netsh wlan show profile Redmi Note 8 key=clear One or more parameters for the command are not correct or missing".
Please help

Thank you.

Is it possible to find out the most recent date the wifi connection was made?
I'm not sure if this is stored anywhere in Windows. Your best bet would be the event logs - it may log that information there.
Does this work if the password is changed ?
Unfortunately, no. It will simply retrieve passwords that have been previously saved on your computer.
