Nastia Liukin's Olympics AA beam stuck dismount is always satisfying to watch after a long day. Same with all of Komova's landings in her Olympics AA floor.
I know things must evolve and grow, but I feel like gymnastics has moved forward in difficulty and totally sacrificed the standard of execution. I suppose it's been heading this way since they took away the 'perfect 10' scoring system and pre-determined the maximum possible points based on difficulty. Don't get me wrong, I will ALWAYS love gymnastics, but I don't see why a difficult routine performed sloppily should be worth more than a simpler routine performed near perfect. It used to be about mastering the moves and striving to be faultless and that was the difference between those who were good and those who were great! I don't want to become public enemy number 1 with this comment, but it needed to be said.
MsEvieBee You nailed it. Not the landing, but the evolution of gymnastics. Just like the Stradivarius violin was an absolute peak, gymnastics had Nadia aged 14. Now acrobatics is a domineering element in gymnastics, at the price of artistry. The audience's gasp of 1976 is now a cheer.
That's right, gymnastics years ago was more about looking beautiful and all the gymnasts were slim and graceful. That's what I think it should still be like. Now, all the gymnasts are really just muscle and focus more on twists and height, rather than beauty. I prefer gymnastics back in the day by far
Bc sticking a dismount doesn't matter anymore. It's pretty sad how few stuck dismounts you see nowadays. Back then if you wanted to medal you absolutely had to stick it or no medal.
YOU ROCK! Yolu caught all my personal favs!!! Zmeskal, Miller, Gogean, Bo, Li, Lysenko, Khorkina, Yanhong, Dobre, Patterson, Johnson, Lieukin, etc.... I can't believe you added Bontas, that was my fav of all time!!!!!
This expertise is mind-blowing! Some of them look like they're not even sure they've stuck the landing, as they kinda take a millisecond to re-balance themselves. I don't blame them - I'D doubt the world was in the upright position myself after all those twists and turns contra gravity. Sensational!
Nice one: I can't bear to watch the 'falls and fails' montages! It's interesting how many of the gymnasts seem genuinely surprised when they stick their landing: some seem to almost go into 'recovery' mode (minimise the imperfect landing) even when they've 'stuck it'!
Very nice. I'd say you did a great job finding more stuck than "questionable" landings. Only maybe one or two that I saw were questionable, so good job. Certainly something we don't see much of anymore.
Jp.Girl Often gymnasts will salute quickly to cover up the fact that they're off balance. They just wanted to show that they'd actually stuck it with perfect balance.
I think the key to a TRULY stuck landing is stable body posture. There should be a "hold" rule (like the men have on rings), where the gymnast must hold their stick for 2 seconds before turning to the judges to get credit for it. That way if they land with a leaning body posture (like Khorkina on her vault in the 2004 AA comp), they can't try and mask it by turning to the judges really quickly. A few of these gymnasts do this and it makes for a better-looking stick.
Best stuck landing ever? McKayla Maroney's vault at the 2012 Olympic team finals.. Amanar stuck landing❤ Or Aliya Mustafina's landing at the 2012 Olympic uneven bars final❤
K Dunc hahaha lol I know, because they only included routines from 2008 olympics, but I was just saying which I think was the best stuck landing.. well at least for me :)
Jordyn Wieber double double 2012 team final floor. Ivana Hong double front tuck at 2008 olympic trials. Catalina ponor double layout 2012 Olympics floor event finals.
Actually, both the dismount of Shawn Johnson on uneven bars in Beijing 2008 women all around final and the dismount of Li Shanshan on balance beam in Beijing 2008 team final can be counted.
@@ersatzproductions753 also Inga Shkarupa from Ukraine used this music back in 1999. She was great but she wasn't selected to compete in Sidney Olympics
Yang Yun's vault is just so perfect. I only wish Raisman's Patterson from 2009 was in this montage. And who is the Chinese girl at 2:28 with the really cheated but stuck triple full off beam?
Ahh! Thesse girls are soo too much amazing~! I do tumbling and it is so hard to stick your landing with all that momentum. I do tumbling and I am a level 8 and i try so hard to stick the landing it is a challenge and it sso amazing because these girls are doing way more complicatred tricks than i am....so i am a little jealous! :)
if they emedietly salite to the judges it doesnt count as a stick at least a few seconds in the landing position with no hops or wobbles to be counted, at least in my meets.
That Must Be HARD Getting Aa Stuck Landing . EVEN With Those Stuck Landings They Prabably Didnt Get Aa 10 ! Probably Like Aa 9.8 Because Its Soooo Hard 2 Get Aa Solid 10 .
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 No she doesn't. She must have her feet in front of one another so it looks like it, and her toes are pointed slightly to her left. Not even CLOSE to a 1/4 rotation...
Are you fucking kidding me?! Are you really thinking of making one of the hardest sports in the world even harder?! How many stuck landings have you done this week?
That's how they have to end, they have to present. They land then present, if they don't they loose points for each step they make after. they don't have to swing their head but some prefer to do so
Nastia Liukin's Olympics AA beam stuck dismount is always satisfying to watch after a long day. Same with all of Komova's landings in her Olympics AA floor.
ThaliaGrace15 Totally
and nastia's olympics AA vault that day. it just set the tone for the whole day and everyone knew she was gonna take a gold home
So satisfying and idk why 😂😂
Omg same.
dreaming lizard same
dreaming lizard ikr
dreaming lizard ikr idk either
2:25 is absolutely beautiful

MsEvieBee ,...... that was a great explanation.
Thank you :)
The perfect 10 system was broken because it did not reward gymnasts who did strive for the difficulty in their routines
That's right, gymnastics years ago was more about looking beautiful and all the gymnasts were slim and graceful. That's what I think it should still be like. Now, all the gymnasts are really just muscle and focus more on twists and height, rather than beauty. I prefer gymnastics back in the day by far
When Lysenko nailed that beam dismount, I knew she secured gold
Ugh, that whip to double arabian at 4:40 is just perfect. I miss Myzdrikova :(.
You just do not see that kind of tuck form anymore.
can somebody tell me why like 93% gymnastics videos were recorded in like 1659
Ikr
Because that's when gymnastics was the best
True
Bc sticking a dismount doesn't matter anymore. It's pretty sad how few stuck dismounts you see nowadays. Back then if you wanted to medal you absolutely had to stick it or no medal.
Actually getting a deduction for taking a step or a hop is a fairly new rule. Not like it was made 20 years ago but it wasn' t made that long ago
I proudly recognize most of the gymnast! Incredible.

Idk why this is so satisfying
I’m surprised to not see Mo Huilan’s VT from the 95 World’s Team Finals. AWESOME video, btw!! :-)

Perfect song to a perfect video..🙂
Dang I'm diggin' this music
0:08 wow you can tell saluting is her favorite part 😂
Petra Ražov IKR,😂

That was a joy to watch
Stuck landings make me so happy. Thank you for putting this together!
satisfaction in one video
2:04 This is one of my favorite dismounts ever, It's so beautiful.
I love the way they just stand in landing as if they weren't sure they stuck it then presented :D
Jp.Girl Often gymnasts will salute quickly to cover up the fact that they're off balance. They just wanted to show that they'd actually stuck it with perfect balance.
Remus Lupin Ah I see
Jp.Girl well some of these are blind landing so you don't really take it in until after a few seconds
Yeah I'm aware of that. I just like it
This is the most satisfying thing i have ever seen.
This was satisfying to watch, thank you!
l think they haven't met Simone Biles yet
Paola Pancic well this vid was made in 2011
LarissaRoseXO that's also why jordyn weiber's double-double from 2012 TF isn't here either.
LarissaRoseXO how did they get jordyns beam dismount from 2012
Wolf._.Playz Games if yore talking about 0:48, that is the 2011 American cup.
schumi246 oh thank you
Idk why this is so satisfying but I love it
0:22 WOW PERFECT
Perfect music for a perfect video...thank you.
I would love an updated version, because sticks are just too beautiful.
Excellent montage! You included some of my favorite "sticks."

Zalma Sanchez this video was made in 2011 lol

Yao Jinnan's landing at the 2012 olympic games on bars
Jordyn Wieber double double 2012 team final floor. Ivana Hong double front tuck at 2008 olympic trials. Catalina ponor double layout 2012 Olympics floor event finals.
Pedro Hierro Martín you suck
That's Olesya Dudnik. She was a fantastic beamer!
Stuck landings are so beautiful :)
Perfect music tho
Actually, both the dismount of Shawn Johnson on uneven bars in Beijing 2008 women all around final and the dismount of Li Shanshan on balance beam in Beijing 2008 team final can be counted.
amazing landings!
That felt so good
Stuck landings are simply the best!!!^^
OMG stuck landings... I remember what they look like again after this. Since they are so rare these days... like seeing unicorns!
awesome
so that's what it's supposed to look like
I kinda wish you had included Shawn Johnson's bars dismount from the all around competition in the Olympics. Perfect double-double
That person at 0:08 literally look like she was about to do a backbend😂
nice!
her vault was stuck cold!
This video was uploaded a year before that vault was executed.
this is y i like gymnastics!!!!!!
@GAGALOVER347 Yes, she does. Dudnik's is much less severe. Iordache does it without any pre-rotation.
The Shawn Johnson one , her vault was on the movie The Gabby Douglas story
@GAGALOVER347 I realize that. Patterson and Bross do a full 1/4 however I said "almost 1/4 of a rotation" which clearly it is.
Kim Zmeskal
you forgot Shawn Johnson uneven bars dismount in the all around at the olympics. that was a pretty amazing stick
Lol the whole time i was waiting for simone biles
How come Mary Lou Rettons perfect 10 vault is not included???
@GAGALOVER347 She pre-rotates almost 1/4 of a rotation on the beam on her round-off.
When they pose when landed, it looks like got stabbed
What music is in the background?
Do you see the hop on zamolodchikova's vault
we barely see these today.. at least a small hop or step LOL
Ok, this is driving me bonkers, who used this music? It was a Ukie in late 90s? Inga Skharupa?
2:47 that coach was so happy
Krhodes02 that was Carly Patterson, I don't know if that was the AA or not though.
@kevimmorales the video was made before the olympic vault of mckayla maroney... Was made in 2011.. Just to make u realize
Look up Yang Yilin's, actually pretty emotional because it was in front of a home crowd.
@63viera Indeed it is
what's the music name. it's great with this vid. it would be good for the floor exercise :)
Actually, yumi izuka of Japan used this piece from 2011-12, and it is a great piece to use
@@ersatzproductions753 also Inga Shkarupa from Ukraine used this music back in 1999. She was great but she wasn't selected to compete in Sidney Olympics
@AureliaDobreFan I can't believen u didn't add the best stuck landing of all time, at leats on vault, Mckayla Maroney @ the Olympics.
What is the name of this music?
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 But you are implying that she twists before she takes off, of which she does not
I hope Shannon Miller's vault got a perfect 10
She got a 9.975 and silver medal in the all around
famous stuck landing nowadays is mckayla maroney on vault. simone on vault. yao jinan on uneven bar. nastia on balance beam n vault (2008)
@HollyRGfan2 Yes it was! I didn't notice that!
For video I liked! Lol
Yang Yun's vault is just so perfect. I only wish Raisman's Patterson from 2009 was in this montage. And who is the Chinese girl at 2:28 with the really cheated but stuck triple full off beam?
It was great in the air, but landed with low chest.
Stick it. Congrats to the Team USA
you need more Nastia
Julianne McNamara 1984 Event Finals on UB, greatest and first dramatic hit ever....Olympic Gold!!!!!
who is in 1.28 please ? she look really young
Who is the one at 0:22?
@AureliaDobreFan Can you make a montage of just Mckayla Maroney vaulting! So I can stop rewinding:) *please* LOL
if they emedietly salite to the judges it doesnt count as a stick at least a few seconds in the landing position with no hops or wobbles to be counted, at least in my meets.
where r the guys @???
Can’t even do a cartwheel ;C
That Must Be HARD Getting Aa Stuck Landing . EVEN With Those Stuck Landings They Prabably Didnt Get Aa 10 ! Probably Like Aa 9.8 Because Its Soooo Hard 2 Get Aa Solid 10 .
What about McKayla maroneys vault in London
Liked 0.43 what you call that
0:52 look at the guy in the background. He's like :0
@AureliaDobreFan Haha. In all honesty, I'm surprised that gaga's debating this so fervently.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 No she doesn't. She must have her feet in front of one another so it looks like it, and her toes are pointed slightly to her left. Not even CLOSE to a 1/4 rotation...
Then howcome it was uploaded may 1 2013!
@LaVoix555 Everything she does is fantastic ;)
Deng Linlin
wow
Are you fucking kidding me?! Are you really thinking of making one of the hardest sports in the world even harder?! How many stuck landings have you done this week?
This must be more satisfying if remove the music
They do a tenth
3:39 and 3:56 Sveta!
Why do these people swing their head so high when they land?
- Enderman5040 - gymnasts have to end like that but you don't necessarily have to swing your head up, that's just a preference.
That's how they have to end, they have to present.
They land then present, if they don't they loose points for each step they make after. they don't have to swing their head but some prefer to do so
Watch this on 0.5 or 0.25 speed (on mute)...WORTH IT! #NailedIt
