I was 12 and in Level 6. My state meet was in two weeks, I worked hard. The state meet came. I did everything. I stuck everything. I did it just the way I had practiced. Then beam came. I tried my back handspring stepout but missed my landing. My arm suddenly didn't feel apart of me. I screamed and I found out I broke my arm. Four months later, I got my cast out. I went back to doing gymnastics... thinking I was doing the right thing. I was thirteen and had to move back down to level 3. I had lost most of my skills, like backhandspring, mills and giants on bars, front handspring on vault and was just too scared to do anything on beam. I had a gym meet. I went on to vault. I aced it. I was proud. I went on to floor. I aced it. I was proud. I went on to bars. I failed it. My life shattered again. I did a squat on and tried to catch the high bar. I missed. I fell onto my KNEES, breaking a bone again. After my cast got out after six months, I went back to gymnastics. Right now I'm still 13 and am in Level 4. I am doing my level 5 exam in a few weeks.... but it hurts that I could already be in what...Level 8? If I wasn't so stupid and decided to take my cast out early the first time around. Even if I didn't take my cast out early, I know I still would've been stupid and not rested my arm for just a few days. This video brings back hope. Keep doing what you like, but remember things will never always Go your way.
    - Lots of love 🌷

    This is my story
I was a level 4 gymnast and was not caring about my goal , did not have my kips , and was scared to do bigger skills. Then summer practice came and I was working towards level 5.I knew that if I didn't work hard every single day of practice i would be held back to level 4.
I went to gymnastics everyday and worked the hardest I could everyday. I was serious about my gymnastics and didn't waste my time. At home I ate healthy foods and stretched. Days I didn't have gymnastics I would work on cardio and condition. I was the best in my class now and was the first to move up to level 5 . Two other girls who were my friends would goof of and play games during practice they didn't care. When they got held back level 4 I thought that I could've been held back with them. Now I am 12 and level 7 I am happy that when I was younger I realized that hardwork will pay off and if I say no to my goal it would set me back at least a week.

Silly Puppy sorry this is super late but my tips are to lift your legs in your glide then push down on the bar. It’s way easier to swing then to kinda muscle up the bar ( if that makes sense) what I mean is you have to stay super tight to make it and you will eventually swing up ! 🥰

    This is my story:
I was doing great. I was a level 7 when I was 12. I moved gyms and everything was just great. On October 23,2017 my life changed. I was on bars and I peeled off the back swing. I fell straight on my elbows. They were both dislocated and broken. Everyone had to get out of the gym. While I was laying on the ground screaming I apologized to my coach, I said “ I’m so sorry but I quit I can’t do this anymore.” And she said don’t say that because you will be back and I know it. And she was right. I was in the hospital for a week getting 2 surgeries on each arm. They put these things that look like bullets in my arms to keep the bones from braking again. I had a full arm cast on each arm. But that didn’t stop me. I still went to practice and everyone was so excited to see me! I even made peace with the bar. Everyone was holding a hands and I went over to the bar. I looked at it and I said “ I never thought this would happen but everything happens for a reason” I started crying. I joins the circle and we all prayed with each other. A few months later I got my casts off and got these braces. I went to pt everyday. And now, 11 months later I’m back at gymnastics. Getting back in bars! I never quit and I never gave up because I knew in my heart everything was going to be ok.

People tell me I’m a bad gymnast because I’m not a very high level (uk levels). But it’s not your skill level that determines how good you are, it’s how hard you try, not how many hours you train, but how hard you work during those hours, not what skill your learning, it’s how hard you work to get that skill, if you are one of the highest levels and train for 6 hours a day, but you don’t try very hard, and someone else is on a lower level and only do 3 hours a week but put 2000% into there training then they are a better gymnast than you. You have to try your best if you want to actually be the best, you have to work hard. People tell me I’m a bad gymnast but I tell them I put all my effort into training which makes me a good gymnast. People tell me to quit, but if I quit now I’ll never reach my goal
Edit: I had to quit because I hurt my back, I was hoping that they would let me compete and train disability levels (I’m considered disabled now) but even that was too much for me. Still tho, never give up and if you get injured make sure to take a break from doing gym, it doesnt have to be a long one though.

Tysm for that, I was called a non gymnast since I only go to rec center but I am having it and by Autumn (a year I will be at that gym) I will be on the team 😊 I have been moved up 3 times which is each term (our ranking system is confusing but I will explain in a bit.).
      Our system:
      Beginner girls
      Girls 2
Intermediate (which is what I am)
      The team I believe 😊
I worked hard all summer on getting everything I could and I put alot of effort when I'm at the gym for my hour so it lasts and when I go home I practice, practice and practice.
I can't wait to go to meets and have a team that I can rely on and share memories with ❤

When I was little I was a very talented gymnast, but then I decided to quit and do soccer and dance. I was out of practice for about 3 years. Then my little sister started doing gymnastics and made me want to go back to being in the gym twice a week. Then I went back to gymnastics and joined a team! I know that if I didn't quit I would be like a level 7! But I compete at a low level but I am one of the best on my team because I work so hard and always place at meets! There is this one girl at my gym ( level 5 ) and every time me or one of my teammates are trying to get a skill or struggling to get a skill she watches, giggles, and makes fun of us and it makes me and my teammates feel really bad. But when I watch this video it makes me proud to be the level I am and makes me proud of how hard I work every practice. 😊

I quit gymnastics when I was 9 because "it was to hard" I was doing gymnastics all my life I started when I was 3 I use to tumble everywhere even at school in kindergarten. A couple years later when I was 6 I was in level 7 when I was done with level 7 I was gonna go to the junior Olympics but I quit. I still regret it to this day. Im 11 now And my dream was to be a famous gymnast but I was scared. 😩🖤

You should try. I've never competed in gymnastics before because I was scared too, and my coaches were not letting me do skills that I had asked so many time to let me try but they kept saying "no". I have two years left of high school and people say I am too old for gymnastics, but I've chosen to prove them wrong. I'm going to be on a team and I will be proud of what I did. My opinion is to try, and don't give up. You family and teammates are behind you the whole way. And don't give in.

Everyday in gymnastics I have my ups I learn a new skill! I fail that skill after. While my down gets the best of me! But I get it and I get my ups, I miss my dreams sometimes, I had a meet one day I decided to miss my dream I had a change of getting a Olympic score. I knew that skill so well but I turned it down I just got to scared from falling off beam, And then after I took out that fear and let it go, I got that score this Motivated me.

    ok so here’s my story…
when i was i child, i dreamed of being a gymnast and going to the olympics but sadly my parents said no because they didn’t want me to have too many muscles. i’ve been begging forever and then they finally let me join gymnastics when i was about 10. at that time i was doing it just for fun. i worked so hard on getting noticed by competitive coaches so i could get an invitation to practice competitively. i finally did and was so happy! so when i went to level 1, i was in the 6th grade and was starting to think that i’m too old to be in level 1. i ignored those thoughts and kept on working and practicing. i then moved up to level 2. still kept going. i then moved to level 3 and was so happy because i could finally practice more advanced skills like round off backhand spring. later that year, i found out i had to get surgery in my back. i was scared and the first thing i thought about was gymnastics. if i got the surgery i would lose flexibility in my back but i kept practicing and competing until it came closer to surgery. i eventually changed my mind set and came back to reality. i would lose flexibility in my back, i would have to rest from gymnastics for 5 months, and i would be 14 in level 3. i decided that i was going to quit but it hurt me so much. this was the hardest decision i made in my whole entire life. i had to find another sport but i knew nothing was like gymnastics. it makes me cry just thinking about quitting. i wish i could stay so bad. if you are wondering whether you should quit or not, it will be a regret later in your life. trust me. all i’m trying to say, is don’t give up. if you’ve made it this far, you are honestly a champ 🏅. please take my advice. i’ll miss gymnastics so much. thank you for your time.

I use to train with the goals of the Olympics, then I stopped for a year, because of personal reasons.
I started at the late age of 15 and was training with gymnastics, calisthenics, some powerlifting, and full on wrestling, to catch up to Gymnast 13-14 years ahead of me. It was working to.
Within 2 years, I was half way there. Now I'm here, coming back to the grind. The old Antione (me), as my coach. And it is motivational to look at your past self. Don't stop training, and God Bless You All!!!🙏🏽👑❤

I’m a ten year old competence gymnast. But my story isn’t all rainbows and sparkles. I love what I do very much, but I’ve been set back. In December I fell in the hallway when a girl walked into me and I have a scar on my face, but then in February I was at gym and i remember it was the day I would be finding out if I could go to the last meet I had to make it to state. It was three days after my last meet for that year. We moved to uneven bars and I did an easy squat on without casting... my foot missed the bar and I fell from about five feet in the air and put my hand out to catch my fall without having a mat on the ground. (It was soft, but not really the kind of 8 in her we train on) and it hyper-extended and dislocated, and my bone got separated from it’s legitimate. I stood up. I wasn’t crying, not screaming. I was in shock. I walked to my coach and said “I think I hit my arm on the bar.” That’s legit what I said. I didn’t want to tell her what i had done! I was scared! It swelled up almost immediately and they called my mother. I was so unhappy 😞.i was carried out on a stretcher into the ambulance. I was crying a bit now... I thought “ this can’t happen to me! I got hurt in December!” But we can’t change the past. I’m sitting here-almost 9 weeks later and still sad. I go to the practices and it shows I am committed. But it helps nothing. I can barely straighten my arm... I only drift apart from my bffs. But I will be healed soon hopefully. If things happen to you- you are not aloud to quit. Fear keeps us from many things, but we have try, try again. I have to do PT and can’t come back to gymnastics until I can straighten my arm. I am confident I will be stronger when I come back. This comment didn’t just help me with gymnastics and confidence, it helped me with life.

I’m currently 12 years old. When I had just turned 6 I started gymnastics and loved it. When I was 11 I won gold overall. Until one day whilst doing my floor routine I heard a crack coming from my ankle. A pain shot through it. But I carried on. I went to the doctors and they transferred me to the physiotherapist but my ankle was still no better. We still didn’t know what was wrong with my ankle. I was transferred to another doctor at the hospital to have x-rays and a mri scan. Then I had to make the decision to quit gymnastics. I loved gymnastics it was my life and I couldn’t remember being without it. I was devastated I cried nearly every night about it and was just so angry that my ankle stopped me from doing what I loved. After 18 months (this is what’s going on right now) I decided I wanted to start gym again and didn’t care about my ankle. I went for a trial at a new gym and got into the beginners squad. That is higher than what I was before I quit! I was over the moon and now can’t wait to go back. Never let anything hold you back, you are capable of anything. NEVER GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS. 💕

Gymnastics isn't easy, there are days where you can do a skill but cannot the day after.
It's okay, it's okay not to get a skill you worked on for so long. Don't let anyone get to you.
People DO lean differently, So someone might learn something but you didn't.
It's okay, you will get it.

I'm 14 and I'm a level 8 gymnast. About 8 months ago, I was having a great day. I had gotten 2 new skills and had everything I needed to go 8. I finally felt like everything was lining up. I was on floor and went to go for my front handspring front layout to warm up and everything went in slow motion. I fell to the ground and a shooting pain went through . My whole leg. I have hyper extended and twisted my knee. I went to the DR and I had fractured my tibia (shin bone) up into my growth plate, bruised my femur bone, and had a few tears in the back of my knee. I went on crutches for 2 months and than started being able to condition in stretch. It took me so long to get back into all of it and to this day my knee hurts. I ended up only going 7 again that season but a strong level 7 I got a 9.475 on bars. 8.9 on vault, 9.4 on beam and a 9.3 on floor. Even if I only placed 5th on bars, I knew for me, that was the best meet I had ever had. I had improved through the injury and it had made me better. No matter the fall, no matter the set back, you can and will come back better than before. Stay strong and know you will always have a shoulder to lean on. Those days when you don't want to do anything at practice, remember this video, be the one who always tries the hardest and succeeds. Push through those moments and come out on the top. Remember those reasons why you stayed in that sport so damn long. 💕

Everyone says gymnastics is easy! It is not you fail, sweat, get hurt, and have many mental blocks. But you get up and try again. You work hard everyday! You are always sore after practice. It is a hard sport! I often think to myself, I’d like to see you survive a week of gymnastics! No matter what happens to you, know that you can do it! Stay strong!

    This is my story: lol
I was 6 and started gymnastics. I soon became a level 3 and I did great on all of my events. Sometimes there were hards days but I still pushed through.
I then went up to a level 4 and was at the same gym. My mom found a gym 4 hours away from where we lived but she said that I could still try it out and see how I liked it. I was 7 turning 8 by then and I loved that gym. So I finished my meet season and went to the other gym in level 5. It was the best gym I had ever gone to. My first gym wasn't very good. The coaches were young and the head coach was too old to spot anything so a lot of the girl broke bones. I never did which was a blessing.
Once I got started with the gym 4 hours away from us, I started TOPS training. I was with about 10 girls and it was the beat thing ever! After TOPs training, I would go to my aunts house and do school. I would then get ready and go back to the gym for my level 6 and 7 practice even tho I was level 5. I loved that class too!! Somedays I would to level 5's, and others 6's and 7's. 2 days out of the week, I would also go practice with the level 8,9, and 10 girls. The practice was hard but I loved challenges so I put in my best work ethic. The end of the meet season was coming to an end and my mom said that we couldn't keep doing this because my brother was graduating and he was failing. So in the last day of practice, I got my giant on bars and full on the floor. I was so proud but also devastated that I was leaving what I called my 2nd home.
It has now been 5 years since I have done gymnastics but I know that I will move THIS year and do it again. The Lord knows what is best for me even if it's hard. He has always been by my side no matter what. I still have some of my skills but a lot of my strength has gone away. I still work hard everyday trying to get my strength back and this video has helped a lot!! So please keep doing what you love!!😊

When I was 7 I started Rope Skipping. I trained very hard and almost got to the nationals. I was good enough to qualify, but I had a very bad injury at my right foot. I had to give it up for ever...
I couldn't do sport for a whole year and after two years I felt better.
At the age of 15 I started Gymnastics. It was only for fun and I enjoyed it so much. After a half years I got my backhandspring, aerial, fronthandspring, front tuck...
Every time when I was training my right knee or my right foot heart so much. So much that I take a break. Then I had an accident and I couldn't walk anymore. I really dream of coming back to Gymnastics, but my knee isn't even strong enough for running, jumping,... even not for swimming and sometimes walking...
I which I could do Gymnastics ever again...

“Fear can put you in the hospital” I really can’t explain how true this is. Last year, when I was still doing gymnastics, we were working simple drills on floor. We were doing things like backhand springs and back tucks, which I did ever day like it was nothing. But that one day I did a round off and was going to to a back handspring, and for some reason I held myself back and landed on my ankle. I convinced myself it was a sprain (I could not walk on it at all) I actually hopped/limped my way through school the next day. My mom said that I was ridiculous and brought be to the ER, where they confirmed I had an oblique fracture in my fibula (broken ankle.) I was in a cast and crutches for five weeks, and it was the worst time of my life. When I came back to gymnastics I was really weak and had a ton of mental blocks. I pushed through the last bit of the season before quitting after regionals. I miss gymnastics so much, but now I am so much happier and stress-free.

This just makes me want to do gymnastics more. Who cares if you start late? You are putting yourself out there. Making a goal you can take and give out.
You will learn something. Trying new things, making a goal, doing everything in between. It doesn't matter about age, it matters about yourself and hardwork you put in it.
I want to overcome my fears of being in the air. I want to try new things and become someone that everyone can depend on.

Every time I came home from gym practice, I used to feel so sad and hard on myself, sometimes even cry myself to sleep. It felt like everyone was better than me. My coaches would get fed up and annoyed with me because I was the only one that couldn’t do the trick. Sometimes I would be scared to go to gymnastics. The fear of failing.
I suffer from depression and it’s so hard to keep going. I find myself giving up very easily. Not wanting to wake up every morning.
But every day I have started to watch motivational speeches and it has really helped me.
I may not be able to do all the things now , but I know one day I will be able to do them soon.
    God bless everyone 😊🙏🏿

in 2021 I quit gymnastics because the gym did the same things all the time and also because I had to wait to get into gymnastics then after a while, I forgotten all about gymnastics and continued to not sign up then I come across my friend that also used to do it. I think we both should do gymnastics again, and I'm like really? then I think to myself if I should do it and remember what gymnastics was. so, I started to look at inspiring videos until i felt like i wanted to do it again. And now since I have watched this video it encourages me to do it again. So next year i'm going to do it again after quitting it for longer than a year. So, thanks for this this motivational video

I've been a competitive gymnast since I was 8 until 2018... when my world and my life literally plummeted. I was doing well and had my life planned, out I knew where I was going and I was ready until, my mom told me that she was pulling me out of gymnastics possibly for ever because she had been fired. I was devastated I couldn't believe it. I left on my birthday without telling anyone. I'm 13 now and I'm joining gymnastics over a year and a half later and being honest I'm scared but I'm going after it and I'm going to put every single drop of energy i can put into this. here’s my lowkey heartbreaking gym story, i have done gymnastics my whole entire life, im 14 and have been doing this sport for 13 years. i had such a drive and passion for this sport, and worked so hard everyday. i had just finished level 5 and the summer working on level 6, backhandsprings on beam broke both my wrists. as many times as the healed, they broke again and again, both of them breaking a total of 3-4 times each. on top of that, my back was pulled and torn up. that was two years ago, and my list of injuries is: broken knee, broken wrists, broken ankles, broken toes, sprained ankles, broken fingers, osgood in my knees, hyperextended and torn elbow ligament, and a horrible black eye. but i work through that every day. because i don’t believe in failing, im doing the best i can because i want to be good. i’m doing it all for the 5 year old me flipping around on the carpet and doing split around the house. all for her.

I was in gymnastics classes ever since I was 3 years old. I loved doing gymnastics, but unfortunately I had quit right before I turned 11 bc my parents didn’t have enough money for me to be on a team (yes very stupid reason to quit) but then, I realized that just bc they didn’t have enough for me to be on a team doesn’t mean I can’t do open gyms or do some tumbles in my yard. I’m now 11 and a half and I’m trying my hardest to be the best gymnast I can be. I try to go to as many open gyms as I can.☺️
I guess the point of this was that you shouldn’t quit just because you and or your parents don’t have money or if it’s too hard. You should always try your best to achieve your goal.❤️😌

Go towards what you love and their might be obstacles in reaching success, so just keep going and let nothing stop you.

I was an elite gymnast. This brings back many memories. Training was often hellish . The big question is, is it worth the wear and tear on your body and the many sacrifices you have to make. It was for me but unfortunately because of severe injuries and emotional issues, I had to cut it short.
