You've got some of my favorite things here! I love to use old school Pyrex and look for them every time I buy second-hand
Yessss I've recently started looking for some of these items to use as a steam pot...great finds❤❤
Always, great finds! I do better when I visit family in South Carolina and Georgia than I do in the NY metropolitan area. I have found Le Creuset pots and Russel Wright dishes that would have cost five times as much if I purchased them in NY.
I have to agree with you about that.. things are far cheaper here than up there... and yes, those were good finds too. Thank so much for watching/
You have a nice collection. 🙂
I have vintage aluminum bake trays from my Mom, but don’t cook with them, or use aluminum foil because the metals are terrible for your health.
Hello Jamala!! My mom had some of the pyrex dishes. I think I may have one she gave me. Thank you for sharing your tips. Have a blessed day!
Hi Pamela! You are so welcome!
So do I! Love vintage Pyrex, and I use mine on the regular. Very interesting about your cut lemons in glass, which is a fabulously elegant idea in the refrigerator. I still use foil for baking, but I have eliminated all my plastic storage items and use glass instead. Jamala, is the annual miles long yard sale still happening? Thank you 💖
Yes, I love the lemon dish.. and yes, gives a nice swanky approach in the fridge. Yes, the annual sale will be happening in Oct .. i'll keep you posted.
@@jamalaw Oh, October? Thank you!
I have some small Pyrex but nothing as gorgeous as yours! Have you heard that some of the old Pyrex has lead in it?
Keep building your collection.. There are still great finds out there.. especially at estate sales. I did hear there is traces of lead in the outer paint but not in the glass itself..But i hope it's not harmful because I do love using this cookware.
@@jamalaw Thanks for all the great information and encouragement.
Steel wool on Pyrex?! No No No! Never! Just soak it for a couple hours in hot water and a squirt of dish soap if need be. Then Sprinkle in some baking soda, distilled vinegar and a squirt of Dawn r Ajax dish soap, And rub around with a scotch pad. Rinse well. Never use metal to scrub glass. Common sense says it will scratch the glass plus then food will stick later when you bake in it. .
Good catch and thanks for correcting me. Although I soak mine and use a scotch spongebrite sponges to wash mine and they come clean.. I appreciate your comment and watching.. thanks so much
