- With the onset of higher prices at chain thrift stores, I'm diverting my interests even more with estate sale shopping (when I decide to thrift). We have similar taste, but unfortunately I had to place a moratorium on buying new knick-knacks and tchotchkes, my crib was starting to look like Fred Sanford's. You don't have that problem though, your home is beautiful!
lol... trust me.. i'm getting better at when something comes in, something goes out.. my kids definitely hum the theme song when they come home..lol.. I know once I'm gone, it's going to a major estate sale ,,,, uggghhhhhh!! lol

$350 is a steal for a Lane coffee table. Thats pure wood. Youd pay $850- $1,000+ at an antque store
I can understand paying more at an antique store because those items are purchased to fill the shop, but these are donated items at Restore and Goodwill. This piece though is a great item, but is in need of refinishing. I've seen this style ranging from $50 to 75.00 in previous years.. But that is by comparison as to where you live.. when I first moved south mid-century items were a dime a dozen because they were still collecting the older antiques, but as migration happens and younger people wanting mid-century, the prices increased a bit.. this is is really insane at a restore. Thank you so much for watching and leaving me your insight on prices.
I stopped Thrifting the year before Covid hit. The GW, SA, and all Thrift stores prices are ridiculous!
I quit GW too years ago, I noticed the small local ones still offer better deals and they're more supportive in the area.
