  • Our snow has finally all melted and it is starting to feel like spring. I love venturing out into nature and watching the wildlife.
I remember when I was little growing up on the farm, my mom made fresh churned butter. This brings so many memories for me. I love going back in time and reminiscing. There’s nothing better than homemade!
I hope you all enjoy this video, much love to you all.

    Nothing goes to waste.
    Miss Lisette,
I've said it before but you show so many how to do the self sufficient life style. Thank You.
Folks spend millions on physical fitness and all they need to do is live a " back to basics" life. Our elders are accused of living in an easier time, but it took real work and they built tools to last. Thank You for showing us the old ways.
Many are content to drive for the half hour to bring home a pound of butter. But they will never have the satisfaction of creating their own or the byproducts like buttermilk.
With much love and respect you are in my prayers
    Hoka Hey

Oh Lisette, Lisette !!!! Awake my soul to freshly homemade butter from cream. Nothing tastes better than fresh butter on anything. We used to churn butter in a tall glass jar as well, we would do 10 gallons of butter every month. I truly enjoy the many homemade things that you create, from fresh caught fish to homemade bread to salsa and marinara sauce. Next is cheese making. If you only knew how much your videos awaken the sleeping giant inside me for living a much simpler way of life. Yes it is what makes ones day long but the feeling you get when your hard work pays off with things you make and not need to go to a store and buy tasteless butter, yuck. So wish I was there with you enjoying butter biscuits and pancakes as well as meats fried in butter or browned butter and noodles along with homemade cottage cheese. Dang it Lisette I just gained 20 pounds thinking about butter on everything. Can I stay with you a while as I partake of all the goodness mother nature provides to us? You may need to wipe inside of the butter mold with a very thin coat of vegetable oil to make it slide easier. Al my love my friend. 🥰❤🐶🐕🐊

And my weekends at the cabin are always so busy gardening, landscaping, firewood, cabin building projects and taking care of my mom. I think I need to retire from my job. Lol. I love everything old school, that’s how I was brought up pretty well much. Oh, and I will do that to the butter mold next time I make more butter. Thank you my sweet friend and have a most fantastic day 😊😎❤️

When I was young, my Mom had a little Jersey milk cow, named "Tiny". She gave more milk than the family, many times could use. There would be 1 1/2 inches of cream at the top of each gallon jar. Mom made butter and her boys had cream on their cereal every morning. Needless to say, we had a dozen or so "barn cats" who took care of the rest.☺
Mom's churn looked like your Mom's. Her's was a "Daisy" brand. And we cranked it forever.
NOW, most people just make butter with a BLENDER.

Ever added honey into the butter while you're either churning or maybe when you fold in the salt? Not sure how it's made, but Land-o-lakes has "Homey butter", very delicious 😋. I'll volunteer as taste tester and hand crank partner if you decide to experiment 😛😁

If I could suggest, (my mother made the best butter ever), her secret was she would knead the butter under running cold water till the water ran crystal clear. I put a tiny drop of food grade mineral oil on my wood butter mold and rub it in. It really helps. My Mom, also showed me how to make butter. She was and still is a Saint to me. She also taught me to make different herb butters. All the best… PeaceY

The way you continue to share the old ways are lessons well taught and bring a greater sense of appreciation to what we all too often take for granted. I was smiling the whole way through this video. The opening scenes of the land waking up from it’s winter nap all the way to wanting to lick the screen for a taste of that caramel sauce at the end!
