We just got a priest from Poland. Once I came in early for the weekday mass and saw him prostrated before the tabernacle. I think in Poland the faith is very strong.
Stronger than it is today in Ireland, unfortunately. And in the United States. My Parish in Ironton, Ohio is conservative and very Catholic and also very strong! So is the Diocese of Steubenville.
Greatest pope ever in my opinion. As a millennial, I remember even as a child thinking of him as such a quiet pillar of strength. I remember exactly where I was when I heard of his passing. It felt like being an orphan as a Catholic. The world felt even scarier with him gone. It still feels that way sometimes but I know he has an even greater presence and influence now in heaven.

I had the privilege of seeing St. John Paul II up close just a few steps away from his pope-mobile in World Youth Day 1995 in the university i graduated from. It was surreal. I felt his holiness emanating from him. It was a feeling i can never explain and will never forget. JPII pray for us. 🙏

Thank you Father Chris for a beautiful reflection on St John Paul II. We are blessed to have lived during his time as the Holy Father. I saw him twice, in Toronto. The first time he came, I was a young teacher who lined a street in Toronto with a group of teachers and students to welcome JPII, along with thousands of other people. The motorcade slowly approached our group; I was standing beside one of the most troubled students in our school. The Holy Father was waving to all of us, one side of the street and then the other. As he arrived nearly in front of us, the Holy Father turned his eyes to the troubled student beside me, and held his gaze for 15-20 seconds. The young boy was hypnotized during those seconds. The the motorcade passed and the encounter was done. Then the troubled student turned to me and shouted ecstatically that Pope John Paul II looked right at him! Now I realize that that young student needed that personal encounter with the Holy Father more than anything, at that moment. And now that young boy who is now a man can say that he encountered a real Saint. What a gift to give someone. Praise Jesus Christ who sends us great and holy men to shepherd His people.
I had the honor of doing the landscaping of his statue in the garden dedicated to his honor because he was in the Philippines in the 1980s and went to that site to bless it.
St. John Paul II is very important to me because he was Pope when I came into the Catholic Church in 1987. So he will always be my favorite Pope and Saint!

By chance, I got to attend a mass he conducted in the Vatican. I didn't get to see him that well since we were in the nosebleed section, but it was a blessing to be in his presence.

I had a dream with Pope Paul II when I was student 27 years ago, he has a beautiful smily face and he ask me about my exam at school. That year I had an admission exam to a foreign country, after the dream a few weeks I had the admission test and I took it, such a miracle, from that time I loved him more, I dedicate my life more in prayers, he is a saint.
I had a problem last 2017. One night, I dreamt of him pouring holy water on me and i fell on the floor and he gave me his hand and pick me up. He said the devil is angry at me for praying. My heart was in constant physical pain from hurt and betrayal. He healed me of my heartache. It was gone the moment I woke up after the dream. Praise be Jesus! Thanks saint JPII.❤️
Unfortunately I was not able to see him when he visited Britain in 1982. However, as though to make up for this, I was able to see him a little over a year later when I visited Rome with a group from our Diocese, led by our Bishop.

My mother (rest in peace) and I saw SJPII in Rome in 2000. He blessed us and looked right at us. I could sure use his prayers from heaven now. I had a dream with Pope Paul II when I was student 27 years ago, he has a beautiful smily face and he ask me about my exam at school. That year I had an admission exam to a foreign country, after the dream a few weeks I had the admission test and I took it, such a miracle, from that time I loved him more, I dedicate my life more in prayers, he is a saint.
I had a problem last 2017. One night, I dreamt of him pouring holy water on me and i fell on the floor and he gave me his hand and pick me up. He said the devil is angry at me for praying. My heart was in constant physical pain from hurt and betrayal. He healed me of my heartache. It was gone the moment I woke up after the dream. Praise be Jesus! Thanks saint JPII.❤️
