Love the videos, so much information, THANKS. We moved into this home about one year ago and the water pressure is abysmal, i checked with a gauge and it reads 35. In your professional opinion what should we do? It does seem the houses around us have lousy pressure also. This entire neighborhood was built in the 1960’s so is it just the build quality or can something be done? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mark! Great question! I talked to a few of the plumbing managers and they mentioned a few things.
If everyone in the neighborhood has lousy pressure not much can be done. Call the city and ask what the pressure is or have them come out and verify.
A possible cause if city is providing more pressure than you are measuring is that the main line coming into and in home is 60 year old galvanized pipe. This pipe builds up rust and such and gets smaller and smaller.
New pipes inside and outside would take care of problem to get all the pressure and volume the city is providing.
Another issue could be a failed pressure regulator where water comes into home by the home main shut off valve.
Sometimes too it can be the faucet aerator that is plugged with rust and debris.
      Cleaning may help.
Our technicians see these things all the time and are able to come and check a variety of issues and causes and problems and provide possible solutions if the city is providing more than 35psi.
Repiping will also maximize what the city provides.
      Hope this helps!
