Only problem I see is that, GTA 6 might release the same year, and if it does, there is almost no chance that Prime 4 will win GOTY, just because of how insanely huge the name GTA is. GOTY contender though? No questions asked!
Publishers push the games out on serious deadlines, developers have to do the magic. This is super exciting combination of people especially knowing Retro or Nintendo has shown to give more time to developers finishing and perfecting the games.
You cannot overlook the animators who worked at naughty dog. Quality animation is so important to a games presentation. Animation applies to literally everything that moves in a game. You might want to get a deeper understanding of game development. Imagine if everything in Metroid Prime moved like Minecraft. I don't think you want that. Naughty dog has some of the best animation in the industry. That's why Nintendo hired them.
Based on the information I have read on the Metroid wiki and the credits from the Prime Remaster's credits, the Design Director seems to be Bill Vandervoort, he was a designer on Prime 3 and both DKC games.
I hope Prime 4 is BIG in scope, and ends up being a big contender for GOTY. AAA status would be great.
