      Someone blessed us with a G10 for our lead guitar player. He loved it so they blessed us with 2 more. Like you we have one for lead, one for acoustic and one for bass. We have had nothing but problems with each one crossing over picking up the other's line and sometimes dropping out totally. We are searching for solutions because we really want to keep these units. Is there anything you have to do to prevent crossover or dropout?

    I recently ordered the U2 Xvive wireless system. Easy to use, has batteries on transmitter and receiver, can be synced with more than one receiver and has 4 channels, case you have other players using the same system.

    I share this everywhere i can, and it's important for ANYONE who buys this device (the G10). the micro-usb power port is EXTREMELY easy to break away from the board. If you push the cable into the port hard or at an improper angle the solder joints can separate (similar to old phones in which the micro-usb ports were prone to fail first). the G10 is a GREAT product that should have been designed with literally ANY other power port option

    • @worshiptutorials
      @worshiptutorials  6 лет назад +2

      The G10s is the one to get then. I personally haven't had a problem with the USB port, and I've been using it pretty consistently for a while now.

      Some of the newer ones had the port improved and hardened. I have owned one where I had to trash it cause the USB port broke. But you can buy a magnet connector for it for like 10 bucks to protect it from repeated use/abuse..

      Absolutely, that is my only complaint, micro usb and that is a BIG COMPLAINT. Little, delicate micro usb connected is NOT appropriate for a stage environment.

    The Canadian distributor, Yorkville Sound, is replacing Relay G10T transmitters even if they are out of warranty. They are defective. I don't know about anywhere else but don't accept any excuses or denial. I contacted Yorkville Sound directly and they told to me to contact the dealer I bought it from. In turn they talked to Yorkville Sound, and then told me bring the defective unit in to them.

    The G10 is great. I use mine at home all the time. Nice when you are sitting in an office chair because you don’t end up rolling over a cable all the time. When using it live, the auto shutoff caught me off guard once or twice. I wish they had a way to disable that if you wanted to.

  • @andrewshively6475
    @andrewshively6475 6 лет назад

    Cool unit. I personally wish the receiver would be identical to the transmitter (a la Boss WL-20) that way that’s one less brick to carry around, one less cable, and one less power supply. Not a dealbreaker by any means, but the beauty of using a helix is that it’s your all-in-one. Carrying around all the extra stuff and setting something else down on the floor kinda takes from that. Here’s to hoping they implement a wireless receiver into the Helix 2!

    Man such a great review. Today i had an issue with my G10 while doing soundcheck at church and then again during service. This G10 is brand new, i just bought it this week and got it on Friday and put it to charge for over 8 hours, then today it worked fine for about 30 minutes and then back to charger and back to cable because the guitar signal simply died. I'm not sure why if your receiver stops blinking and its green light stay put i would only be able to use it for about 30 minutes. Any tips? Thanks and God bless

      Nathan Thompson It can. It shuts off after a bit of getting no signal (guitar volume down). I had it cross over to our acoustic guitarist, and his to mine. I finally kept my guitar volume up and used a volume pedal with heel down so the G10 always got signal.

      I use the G90 guitar wireless system on stage every Sunday along with many other wireless systems. I have never experienced a problem. This G90 has a selection of 12 channels to choose from. The lower end models have fewer channels, however you should not experience any problems.

    • @andrewshively6475
      @andrewshively6475 6 лет назад

      What are your needs? What does your space look like? If all you’re doing is Sunday morning stuff and you’re staying fairly close to your receiver, the line 6 should be more than adequate. The majority of reviews are positive saying it’s very reliable. Especially with the new g10s being rated at 150’ which is close to the shure.

      Andrew Shively I primarily am leading Worship at church through an HX stomp, I also play summer outdoor festivals occasionally and play guitar in a country rock band in small pubs. I like the form factor of having the tuner integrated into the wireless, especially on my small pedalboard with the hx stomp. We also use an x air mixer onstage with a powerful dual-band router. Don’t know if that makes a difference or not.

    Reach out to Line 6 and see if they will give you the new G10s to do a head to head comparison
    Also ask Line 6 if they could make a simple in ear system that uses the same easy plug and play type of operation
    Preferably a 1 or a 4 user system that has the same channel selection options the G10s has.

    I bought a Relay G10 in December 2018 - not the G10S - and the power port is a real killer.
    I have moved the unit to different locations for practice sessions maybe a dozen times in less than a year. I was aware that the USB port was exposed and potentially fragile (also it never quite "clicked" in place), so I was careful with it. Not careful enough, it seems, as it now frequently cuts out as the connexion is loose. Everything else about the device is great. But if it has no power, it's irrelevant.
    Supposedly Line 6 improved the design to be more sturdy in 2017. Well, I bought mine a year later and this one ain't sturdy. I would discourage anyone from buying one of these unless the unit you are looking at is definitely improved to feature a sturdy power connexion.
    Massive disappointment.

      yup had the same issue 3 failed back to back , one in the middle of a paid gig. I had to think fast and plug in a quarter inch. Thank God I was not in the middle if a sol. I had a guy mod it .. opened it up replaced the usb jack to a regular 5.5 x 2.1 mm Barrel jack. opened the fucker micro soldered on the new jack ( was hard to find the ground ) . then keep the power supply wall piece, ( because it has 5 w negative voltage regulator in it . lol ) and bought another cable... not it is sturdy and solid as anything could be .. Im keeping mine now but whoa what a dam head ace, I will NEVER buy another line 6 wireless system because of this awful experience .. Boss has a better line out lx 20/50/60 units simlar in price, with 10 hour batter life..and I know boss makes sturdy products.

  • @RumbleFish69

    Here's the deal with this Line 6 wireless system... You pretty much get what you pay for. If you're gigging with other guitarists who have their own, wireless systems, it will get interference - PERIOD. Apart from that, it tends to turn off on a regular basis, for some odd reason. This wireless system is not reliable a all! Weather (wind and thunder storms) and even a tremolo bar will also effect how this unit functions, or doesn't function.
    Again, the bottom line here is that you pretty much get what you pay for. If you want a solid wireless system, then you'll need to spend over $1,000, at least, for something like one of the Shure wireless systems. Now, I should be clear...I do own this product and after my frustrations, I thought I'd keep it just for home use, but even there, it lets me down! I honestly thought about selling it on Craigslist, but I have too much of a conscience to screw over a fellow guitarist!
    Of course, if it's an affordability issue, just take the $250 bucks you were going to spend on the G10s, and get something in the $100 range. You'll be getting the same thing basically, but this way you can at least save $150 bucks!
