I just got one to use with my 5 string Ibanez Ergodyne and various amps. Is such a relief to know I won't be tripping on cords and pulling out plugs...
great review. Also, near the end, that little burst from the intro of "The Look in Your Eyes" from the Vince Neil solo album (Stevie Stevens) was great! Love that song!
The Canadian distributor, Yorkville Sound, is replacing Relay G10T transmitters even if they are out of warranty. They are defective. I don't know about anywhere else but don't accept any excuses or denial. I contacted Yorkville Sound directly and they told to me to contact the dealer I bought it from. In turn they talked to Yorkville Sound, and then told me bring the defective unit in to them.
If they don't crap out on you, or fall apart in your hands, Ive gone through two of them in two weeks, I'm done. The power supply connection into the receiver is rattling around inside the receiver. Good luck!
Sam Bonz I agree, I think that the power connection is the weakest link of this device. Mine is now used as my practice connection for quick instrument change.
Does anyone know if its ok to charge the transmitter before the battery is mostly discharged. Some batteries would have some sort of memory that would shorten the use time if you charged it when not fully depleted......?
gbtayc that was the old nickel cadmium way. These new lithium ones want to be fully charged as much as possible as they have “ x amounts of charges till they die” So keeping them from ever running out is the best policy.
MadMadamba it’s hard to know for sure. Most actives will give it issues however there is a workaround. You can put an adapter between the line 6 transmitter and the guitar, with a short 1-3 inch patch cable. So it would go line 6 small dongle> TRS female to TRS female adapter> small patch cable> guitar input. This solves any active pickup issue.
I just got the spider v 30 amp and heard the g10 only works with the 60 models and up (wirelessly). But the plug setup you got to the amp answers my question if it would work with other amps. Thank you man! 🤘🏽
Guilherme Freitas yes. You just connect it (the G10) to the input of your current pedalboard rather than into the amp. Then the cable out of your last pedal in your chain, goes into your amp.
I have been playing live twice already and this thing died on me. However, i did the switch quick enough and kept going..5 minutes later , it start working again...i m not sure what happenend but i was wondering if you experienced any similar issue..
peruvianshaggy yes I have had that happen too. I’m beginning to suspect a signal interference. Do you keep your cell phone close or in your pocket while using it?
So the problems they were having with this unit I bought this for my grandson I'm a drummer but I design things at my job and when I saw this I said automatically all you need to do is buy a magnetic USB you plug it in the unit in the back of the base it stays there forever you just put your cord over and the magnet connects if you walked by on stage and kicked the wire you don't break nothing you don't bend nothing it just automatically comes off problem solved
Darren Turner I’ve heard good things about those but have not had a chance to try them yet. I did get the G30 however and I’ll make a new video reviewing that soon.
vaiisking a I think you'll be surprised how good it is. Both the transmitter and receiver are battery powered and rechargeable, so there's no need for a power supply on stage. I reckon I've played 50 gigs and countless rehearsals with mine. I love em!
vaiisking yes, we normally do 4 hour gigs. I think the run time is only about 5 hours, so it cuts it a bit fine. I used to whack them on the charger between sets when I first got them but I dont bother anymore cause they have never run flat on me.
2 things, first place your Marshall Code amp with an angle, you will hear 'more' things than before and because US houses are made from nothing, signal can travel easily, through walls. In Europe many houses are made from reinforced concrete so signal cant travel that easy through walls. For future European buyers...
This is the best review I have seen yet as no one else showed how the receiver is hooked up to the amp. Perfect review. Now time to buy one.
super agree with you
The Camera person is the silent hero in this video! Great job on production.
Thanks a bunch. My then girlfriend, now wife did that for me :)
@@vaiisking congrats!
In other reviews they just talk about the gear and don't show themselves using it. This was much more helpful, thanks

Sean McKeown thanks, I appreciate it.
I'm defintely considering getting one of these. I've never used a wireless system and this one looks like a good entry point.
Thank you for the review.
Can you show with classic guitar? I have Yamaha SLG 200n. Thank you!
Will the dongle (transmitter) fit inside the cavity?
This is the second USB port to falter on the G10! Line 6 needs to look into that!
I agree, mine is only used for practice purposes because I don’t think I can count on the flimsy micro usb design
Hey great video! How long should I wait until fully charged?
I been charging mine for an hour and still not charging
I’d give it a couple of hours.
Does the receiver (box) need to be connected to the power supply ALWAYS ?? What if the stage does NOT have power supply ?
It always must be plugged in, that is one of its weaknesses. Also the micro USB connection isn’t the most reliable.
I can’t mine to work for more than 10 minutes after a year of use. Lots of issues with the battery and charger if you go on their forums!
I can still use mine (it's only for practice) but to be honest, I don't use it often.
I’ve done all the hardwire updates to no avail…
How good is it with bass guitar especially 5 string bass. I've heard you really need a great system to do bass especially reproducing the low notes?
Sorry boss, I don’t have experience with a bass and this.
Appreciate the help thanks!!!

I think that I read something to that effect as well.

@@vaiisking I just took the G10 back and purchased a Sure GLX-D instead. I am happy to report that I am very satisfied with this change
Mine went red and shut off with no solid light. What does that mean?
That sounds like time to take it to the professional. Good luck
Is the battery changeable, or when it weakens, can be thrown away?
I know it is rechargeable, but is changeable too?
Cs K no I do not see any way to change that.

Will it work with the active fishman pickups martin guitars have?

thank you so much!
Will it work with active pickups that have had an 18 volt mod??
wookiee 666 it’s not likely. I have tried it with one of my schecter that aren’t active, but it has reverse polarity wiring.

Dan Sastoque it will work with any amp.
it is easy using with pedalboard?
Guilherme Freitas yes. You just connect it (the G10) to the input of your current pedalboard rather than into the amp. Then the cable out of your last pedal in your chain, goes into your amp.
Have yoy had any problems yet?

George Lyndall can you post a link of an example to this thread?
i got it yesterday and it’s still blinking red
it sounds like it isn't pairing tbh
I think the Xvive is better. When using it with a pedalboard, you don't have that huge receiver on the floor. It's also half the price.
Darren Turner I’ve heard good things about those but have not had a chance to try them yet. I did get the G30 however and I’ll make a new video reviewing that soon.

How long are the gigs? 4 hours? I will include in my new video the cons that I've discovered for this G10.
vaiisking yes, we normally do 4 hour gigs. I think the run time is only about 5 hours, so it cuts it a bit fine. I used to whack them on the charger between sets when I first got them but I dont bother anymore cause they have never run flat on me.
Music Islife xvive has huge issue with active pickups, this one doesn’t
Should be able to power and also charge with a USB powerbank
I have one línea that and doesn,t charge no more
Sorry to hear it :-/
You can get a battery operated transmitter and receiver on Amazon for $70 that works for 2 hrs.
I saw those too....haven't tried one nor heard about how good they work yet.
Are You Lionel Messi from the future?
