When shopping for a performance exhaust system for your Harley Davidson, sound and performance is key. Bolting up just any set of pipes may not give you the signature Harley sound. In this video Greg is back to showcase a set of exhaust pipes from one of the leaders in performance motorcycle exhaust systems. Performance and Sound. Every Harley Davidson owner wants a set of pipes that will increase both performance and sound. This Shortshot system from Vance and Hines use’s larger diameter piping from each cylinder head down to the muffler body. Creating a higher exhaust flow for more power and that signature Harley Davidson sound.
Blue Proof. If you have owned a motorcycle in the past, you may have noticed that over time your beautiful chrome pipes can start to turn blue. To eliminate that Vance and Hines equips this system with their 220-degree heat shields, also known as their blue proof system. This eliminates having to see that unsightly blueish color and you have the option to choose from either a chrome or matte black finish.
Removable Baffles. Piping diameter plays a huge role in creating that amazing Harley sound but that’s not all. The baffles in the muffler body are also incredibly crucial. This Short Shot system comes equipped right out of the box with Vance and Hines performance baffles. But if you’re the kind of bike owner that wants zero restrictions, these baffles are also completely removeable to turn these pipes, into straight pipes.

Vance and Heins are probably best in this business. Simply love it's sound compared to any other exhaust
Awesome system, awesome sound. Had them on my 07 Nightster, but I do have to mention that they may not be neighborhood-friendly for those folks who may be concerned about early morning startup noise levels. Some aftermarket systems can be stealthy at start up and low throttle but Short Shots have two levels; loud and louder.

They sure are loud- even short shifting they pop and bang and make a noise like I’ve got the devil’s pubes caught in my back wheel. I have a super quiet helmet and I still need ear plugs on the highway
That's exactly right. I'm swapping mine out; way too loud. Bought the bike with them, so didn't have much say in the matter.
I have these on my 2018 softail lowrider. The sound of it simply starting is amazing..

It really looks great... Small part of chrome can be easily seen on matte black gives it such an amazing look. Will going to buy at very reasonable rate from Motofever from Dubai. Loved the look and color combination of bike with exhaust...
OMG Short Shots Fucking ROCK, So putting them.on my Superlow 883 😇
Whilst this is a professional looking video, it misses two important steps of the install. Always replace the exhaust port gaskets to ensure a good seal - plus the standard ones are restrictive and better replaced with Screamin Eagle ones. And secondly, always use a torque wrench and the correct torque settings on the exhaust port bolts - you really don't want to strip/shear one of those.
I have unbaffled short shots on my 17 883 and damn they are badass sounding.
I have a 2020 883 with them on it seems to have lost some power any suggestions

Really good before and after comparison of the stock mufflers vs the Short Shots. Thanks for the video! I'm trading my 2018 Billiard White 48 Special for a 2019 Billiard Blue Softail Slim after ten thousand miles in less than a year :) gonna miss my sporty, but one day I'll get another one and I'll probably put on these pipes or the Radial Sweepers. Dealer installed mine.already had dealer do stage 1 when bike was new 2016. They said would be fine since already had stage 1 map. Also they said no longer do stage 1. Cause of some legal issue?

Did you have to tune the 48 after install ?
Will they fit on a 2019 street bob ? And so I have to do anything once they are on??
As per our fitment catalog they are listed for the 2018 Street Bob www.motorcycleid.com/vance-hines/short-shots-2-2-staggered-style-exhaust-system-mpn-47233.html , but the 2019 model looks to be the same. I have harley Davidson roadster. I didn't put air filter and I have installed vance and hince short shot.. is there any problem for bike engine? Please help me out
An air filter prevents dirt and other particles from getting inside the engine, so, for sure, it's not recommended to run an internal combustion engine on a car, bike, or a lawn mover without a filter. Some racing engines do run without filters to eliminate restrictions of the airflow, but they are not designed to last that long. I meant to say after installing a Vance and hince short shot exhaust I didn't change the air filter... now it's in stock air filter. Should i change the air filter or shock air filter is fine?

These pipes are terrible on producing power, unless you are just going for looks and sound.
Put torque cones in and you're good.

There is no exact number, but thanks to the improved fuel efficiency you may get up to 1-2 extra miles per gallon.
i went from averaging 48 mpg to 40 mpg on my 883
