Protect and guide your small band of settlers to forge a town from untamed wilderness at the edge of the known world. Harvest raw materials, hunt, fish and farm to sustain your advancing town. Produce crafted items for villagers to trade, consume, equip and fight with as you battle for your survival against the elements and outside threats (pacifist mode available for players who do not want to engage in combat).
What are your best tips for Farthest Frontier? I am constantly learning as I play so do give beginner tips and ideas that you have found!

When first starting ... BEFORE setting town center ...
F4 and F ... shows resource qualities and fertility.
Definatly set up near trees and food resources.
After you set Town Center... pause the game.
Get your Hunter, Forger, and fishing Shack placed.
Put a well (latest patch you will die faster from dehydration)
Firewood Spliter.
Lay out your road system. Villagers 'work' faster with roads to move on.
Remember Hunter shacks provide gold once you start your market. !
Unpause game.
As soon as town Center is done pause again.
Layout your Housing.
You can set the building sites. And then pause the building locations and start as you need them.
Unpause.
As soon as 1st 3 houses are then built then put up your Storage ..
Pause game is your best friend! In layout.

I spend a lot of time on the road and at 'night' to defragment my mind i start a new settlement nearly everytime for a few hours. So have learned its little things like the Hunter Shack in the market radius. And pause, building placement/with the stop construction button, (until needed) actually speeds up getting to tier 2 and tier 3. Also I dont even build my trading post until after my tier 2s are storing finished products. That way i can shift stuff to market before the 1st merchant gets there and can get ready gold for decorations and troops.
Oh once raiders start dont forget those towers w 2 guys makes a difference on loses big time. Ive actually killed all the raiders up to 50 a couple of times!

@@TheOnlyL0nzY Nope, they are 'blueberry bushes.' I don't have the button to relocate them. Could it be due to version (v0.9.1a, my version)?

Watched this to confirm I'm approaching the game right and I was surprised to realise I hadn't figured out the Exploration markers. I'd completely missed that detail. And that's quite a detail to miss. I also hadn't realised you can pick and relocate berries. Cheers!

I've done a couple of play throughs up to tier 3 and starting to get the hang of it. Been playing for the last week but keep the population to 200-300 due to computer constraints. However I still learnt some stuff with this video and its much appreciated.

You just get straight into it, no faffing.
Explaining your reasoning as well as tips and tricks makes for a very informative video, that verges on a review.

My favorite tip not mentioned: you can pre-place buildings then disable construction. Its a great way to do city planning without spending the resources/labor to build everything right away.

I have one exact spot on my map where hunters lodge works. Anywhere else and it produces zero. Any suggestions? Shoes are becoming a real problem.
Shoes are a huge problem. It took me so many in my latest playthrough!
@@TheOnlyL0nzY I alt+f4 that game and proceeded another save with your layout with carefully chosen location. Much better already with 3 hunting spots, I imagine it still becomes problem later but with your guide I'm now smooth sailing 200+ people.
I didn't know you could move the circle where fisherman forager and hunters can do work
Seems a lot like the old caesar games from back in the day with all the production and hosing appeal stuff

Ahh, to unlock some buildings, you need to build others.
have this on my wish list with the hopes i can afford it soon but i am still unsure as to weather its worth it but its good to watch replays to allow me time to think about if its worth the cost to playable ratio :D. Keep up the good work

OH MY GOSH HOW DO YOU ROTATE YOUR CAMERA VIEW? I thought that was impossible. wth. I have been wanting to rotate my damn camera for so long and couldnt figure out how.

Is it just me or is any body else having issues with town folk dying of dehydration. Constantly needing water even though I have 5 wells very close by. This hasn’t happened before the new update.
I do think all of the wells drained and houses of all stock since update! Thanks for watching
If too many wells are too close you lose water lvl faster. (Dont forget to add trees around your wells, that replenishs wells faster)
Seems like immigration is slower with the new patch even with enough housing and food anyone else having his issue?
It definitely feels less. I have a save running that is getting 1 at a time in the new year and that's it. Food surplus is like 10 months
10 years in and I’m only at 48 villagers with 18 months food 42 desirability with 20 plus extra housing
Pre patch 10 years in I was at 120 villagers

Food and wood is a pain to get.
It gets much easier as you progress :)
This guide is great, but it's a bit "clickbaitey" to call it "The Only Guide YOU Need". You didn't mention crops (which are decently complex), invasions, or any tier 3 stuff.

I like this game but damned if it isnt a borderline exact copy of townsmen-aKR.
Not played that tbh. A lot of these types of games are similar these days!
@@TheOnlyL0nzY townsmen a kingdom rebuilt and FF are virtually the same game. Only real difference is Townsmen is more cartoony graphics wise.

There are even mods that allow you to dig up and move other plants, such as herbs and willow.
I feel so dumb for not realizing you can press tab and turn the buildings haha
