- Join me on a Relaxing London Canal Walk through the bustling East End. I start my walk at Victoria Park before heading down Regent's Canal to Limehouse Basin, passing through Mile End Park on my travels.
Regent's Canal is a canal across an area just north of central London, England. It provides a link from the Paddington Arm of the Grand Union Canal, 550 yards (500 m) north-west of Paddington Basin in the west, to the Limehouse Basin and the River Thames in east London. The canal is 8.6 miles (13.8 km) long.
Mile End Park is a park located in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. It is a linear park of some 32 hectares (79 acres), and was created on industrial land devastated by World War II bombing. Some of the park is within Limehouse and Bow, with the park lying on land to the east of the Regent's Canal. In the north, it is separated from the southern edge of Victoria Park by the Hertford Union Canal. It is open 24 hours a day.
In the medieval period, Limehouse was a large and important London port. It tended to focus on production rather than cargo handling and was well-known for shipbuilding, rope-making and ship supply businesses. By the time of Elizabeth I, Limehouse was a leading trade centre and, after her death, it was estimated that almost half of the 2,000 people who lived in Limehouse had some seafaring connection.

Hello Great walk
Thank you for your comment, Glad you enjoyed the walk😊
Very enjoyable and relaxing video. Always good to see the Limehouse Basin (though normally I only see it passing on the DLR!)
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it! To me, Limehouse has an untouched charm that I don't feel as much with other canals and basins in London
@@Londonechoes I don't know if it is of any use to you or not but there is an event on at St Katherine Docks marina from 24th to 26th. They are having a number of the Association of Dunkirk Little Ships (ADSL) attending.
That is really good to know actually! It’s something I’d like to attend, thanks a lot for sharing 😊
@@Londonechoes If you have a look at their web site, they have a "What's on" section which gives more information about future events.
@@ThamesShips Thanks! I'll check it out
