Today we're snowboarding in Cardrona, New Zealand and doing side hits. The terrain at Cardrona is perfect for side hits because there are many side banks and rollers. Side hits are a great place to learn how to get your first air on you snowboard. When doing side hits make sure the landing is free of other riders. Check TJ and David's RUclips channels who are also making snowboard RUclips videos. Thanks for watching!
Snowboarding literally looks perfect there. EXTREMELY open areas to snowboard with like no trees in your way, with tons of side hits everywhere which are SO FUN.
Mitchell Carson to be fair NZ gets pretty boring because of the tiny ski fields and the lack of trees etc. Japan is so much better to board in the powder 🤙🏼
Tree dodging is bliss. Riding through trees is a joy because it forces you to focus and be completely in the moment. I dunno why you'd want a resort with no trees unless you just haven't progressed far enough to have discovered why tree riding is so great. Wide open runs are certainly preferable during the beginner/early intermediate stages of riding, but once you feel comfortable enough to check them out they are one of the most fun types of terrain to ride.
@@Negentropy369 my comment was 4 years old and I completely disagree with myself now 😂
TJ makes it look so easy
(6:18 basically the while time I was there)
I'm not familiar with these guys, so is this like a beginner snowboard video type thing?
First
Guys it doesn’t matter if you’re first here Kevin looks at most of the comments anyway
Hi Kevin and TJ... first of all... I would like to thank u guys... I learnt snowboarding just from you guys... I m a Vancouverite, generally go to cypress mountain.. if u r in town, would love to catch up
Looking at this video... now I feel I wanna come NZ.... which resorts will u suggest?
You should go to Grouse or Seymour. They have better and more well-maintained terrain parks than Cypress.
@robfromvan I beg to differ. Seymour has no snow making machines. I hurt my knee there n had to skip whole rest of the season.
@@bhaveshbr it’s true that Seymour has no snow making machines than Grouse or Cypress, but in order to learn tricks you have to go to a mountain that has a well-maintained snowboard park. Cypress doesn’t maintain theirs. Every time you go it’s closed and all you can do then is just go down the runs over and over again. You don’t learn any tricks that way. Grouse and Seymour both have good parks. Grouse has a longer season also because they make snow and they operate the gondola for the tourists so can keep the ski area open also, just for that.
I definitely need to work on my switch this year.
Same
Same here
if you boys want to see a crazy view head up to the remarkables, catch shadow basin chair to the top and hike up to the lookout. about a 15 minute hike, on a clear day it is epic.
I've literally never put a pie in ketchup :P
Also, good to see NZ has meat pies like in SA :D I miss a Pepper Steak pie :'( Haven't found any in Japan.
another good vid guys!!
Dear SnowboarProCamp, since you guys are regularly at Whistler, you guys should check out my home turf, Mt Baker is Washington State! It's just south of the Canadian boarder and it's got some of the most intense runs you will ever find!
Come to Ruapehu! We've just had over a meter in three days! Not sure why the south is looking so bare.. Head up the the North Island my friends

You guys have progressed so much in the past two years. Yet, you guys are some really humble cool people.
Thanks for sharing tips on the side his guys! They are so fun, I treat them like a mini half pipe sometimes. And David is totally right about using them to get your first air!
That place looks amazing. Like seeing the lines you guys put together.
Looks super fun, one of my favorite things to do is launch side hits! Great way to spice things up and practice some air time. 🤙🏼👍
