Your tractor is a great size for it. I'm going to include measurements for the pallet forks frame option so you guys can double-check before ordering that version.
You’ve got that wonderful rich black soil, all fluffy and soft... anything will grow there beautifully. I’ve got Georgia Red Clay. When it’s dry, a pick axe can barely penetrate it. The ripper has a hard time even when there’s no roots. When the clay is wet, it turn into a slimy slurry that will suck your tractor in like quick sand.
I've been watching every video I can find on stump buckets and yours was the most comprehensive. I think your design for the smaller tractor is spot on. Looking forward to seeing how your pricing compares to others I've looked at. Well done.
Very good demonstration. Perfect for taking out saplings with very little effort at all. I can see it moving much bigger stumps where the trees has already been cut.good job.
Nice bucket attachment. I like that it’s not a wide as some other stump buckets. All you need is a little hydraulic thumb on that thing and you will be the next landpride.
We had a huge ice storm last week and boy did that grapple I got from you save the day ! And it proved to my wife once again I need everything I buy for my tractor ! Should of got that stump bucket while I was there too ! Happy New Year !
Purchased one for my Kubota. Its fantastic. "Lets go look for something bigger to pull up". GWT shipped quickly and are very nice to work with. Can't recommend enough.
Love your videos. Occasionally I have a good idea. Here is one. Round the rear of your bucket so when you drive forward with it the dirt rolls forward. Only need to lift up when you hit an object. Saves time and effort
I need to remove a few trees and bushes this spring. Already started with hand shovel, bucket, and chains = a bit of work. I will need something to dig some holes for new plantings as well. I would like to see this stump bucket just a little longer (6-10"?) so you don't need to get so close and have just a little more approach with a slight angle. I think I would attach directly on my SSQA plate on my B2650 instead of using my Land Pride fork back plate. The weight of the stump bucket @ 100#s would be no problem either way for my FEL I think both my grapple and bucket are each over twice that weight and no problem for the tractor when picking up or scooping things. I've been shopping and looking for a solution. (meaning ready to buy soon ...)
Congratulations on your product! I would suggest a small 1.5"-2" hole in the middle of the SSQA and the JDQA, and the chain slot at the bottom of the hole. (Essentially a key hole). The pallet fork version has one, why not the others?!
I am continually amazed with the versatility of these machines. They are like a Shopsmith, radial arm saw, Kirby Vacuum, and Leatherman all rolled into one, modernized, then put on steroids.
Got mine and tried it today for first time. I absolutely loved it! Tore out a huge fat litered stump with it. And so it begins. Thank you sir for a great product! I call it the stump eliminator!!
Nice! Good to see stuff made in America still!! I built one a few years ago, love it to death, I use it all the time! I watch your videos a bunch, thanks!!!
Looks like your stump bucket design is working well. We have a lot of invasive trees that it could be useful for clearing the stumps after cutting them off and chipping them. We will keep watching your progress.
This video is the first I've seen where you are using the top portion of the grapple to manipulate the soil surface. I've been wondering why they were not being shown this way. For my wish list, I'd like to have maybe a spring tooth rock rake or landscape rake to put on the front of my John Deere 2320 so I can push rocks into piles to pick up with a skeleton bucket on my bigger tractor. I have surface rocks I need to pick up first, then go back over the same ground and dig up the buried rocks, then chase them into piles to pick up.
That stump bucket is exactly what I need. My property has several hundred saplings I need to remove, just like you showed in the video. I'm definitely interested once it becomes available.

The tiller will work just fine. I got a few truck loads of asphalt grindings a couple years ago that had several bigger chunks in it that made grading it nearly impossible . l had my tiller on and decided to try it very shallow at first since this was on top of a rock driveway. He could remove the staubs on the tower property. Is it sturdy enough for use on your 4066? If not will you be making one? Looks much quicker than a backhoe.
I almost did a 4066r, went for the 4720 used with old school hyraulics and pre emissions, and adjustable rear wheels. Sme size machine, short 8 hp. Good thing is the ground was not frozen solid yet. Rock hard frozen can slow construction class machines and break or hurt small machines. Ask me how I know.
If you need another tractor for testing, I have an mx4800 with universal quick connect on front. I am a new operator but feel like I have a fair grasp on tractor. Tractor is fitted with rim guard in rear and I have 4 1/2 acres full of saplings to apply towards. I believe I am less than 4 hrs away
@@GoodWorksTractors well I f you need a tractor to try it out I am willing. Two tool and die makers here so we might be able to give some input if you would like if we see anything that might help you. Would be happy to help you out. Thanks for all the info you provide all of us
Looks like an awesome product, waiting for you to get one in the 40 hp range. Have an RK 37 HS Cab that has already lifted a 23 ft. two wing cultivator rated for a tractor in the 75 hp range completely off the ground and carried it from the back of a field where it sat for 25 years, tires rotted off and hydraulic wheel lift cylinder rusted and hoses rotted off, with my forks. It literally looked like an ant carrying an elephant. I know I've got a damned awesome tractor setup, put one of these stumpbusters on my SSQA loader and really see how much it could do. I have a backhoe already, but when clearing a woods of medium sized stumps and things, it would be quicker than getting on and off the backhoe seat for every stump.
I would put somewhere on there where you can put a spike in for trenching and back drag the bucket so the spike cuts the ground in the bucket just pushes everything to the side and shapes the trench for you. I like it, it’s never going to replace a skid steer or a bigger tractor but that’s a whole lot cheaper and more practical for most people. Looks like it’s holding up to the abuse and doing what it needs to do, it would be kind of cool if you could put the grapple top with that on the bottom of the grappler bucket also then you could just plow stuff up and grab it without switching implements
I'm curious about the welds. The stump buckets look to not be welded around the bucket's entirety, so I was wondering about the decision making process behind choosing to weld along the partial seam, rather than the whole thing.
Good idea. I hope it markets well. I do have a suggestion since you are still "preproduction". That is adding a "Bull Bar" near or at the top. This would aid in the "pushing over" of trees and shrubs. Just a thought. Good luck!
You mentioned it is a little bit hard to see what you were doing, I mounted a backup camera on the grill guard and the screen in front of the steering wheel of my 3203 it works great to see what bucket or forks are doing.
Great music choice, the grapple shows how heavy and dense our snow can get in Michigan. How frozen was the ground? That sure as heck did better at removal than a plain bucket; did a lot of that clearing an acre of woods this summer. Definitely on my radar to get for the other 3 acres of clearing, probably get something like this over a tooth bar.
Going to be ordering a 1025R from factory, but there are so many options! Think you could do a video where you walk through the John Deere Build/Configure website tool and explain all the options and provide your opinion?
Based on all the comments so far, I think you will have plenty of folks lining up to place their orders as soon as they hit the market! And I am pretty sure I will be one of them. Great video and can’t wait to place an order when available!!
Very nice design. Seems to work well on saplings under 6" which plagues many of us..Like the efficient use of the grapple (clear saplings and backfill/grade). Haven't tried backfill/grading with the BC...Great video as always!
Looks like this will be a great product. Up next, some sort of soil/rock pulverizer for subcompacts. Current ones in market require 80hp or more for 60+ inch passes. Surely one can be downsized to small tractors (18”?) for new gardens, flower beds, etc.
I really like this design with the skid steer style coupler. Would this be strong enough for a Kubota M6060? It looks well designed. The thing I like about the bucket it’s shorter then most stump buckets which is perfect for a tractor. Your definitely on the right track with this. If you need a tester for a bigger series tractor let me know!
That implement would work awesome for me, I have a large area of willow growth around an exist pond that needs attention. Good job on your modified version.
You should consider a rear end loader. Lots of us have more power than those small machines but don't have a front loader option. Need to dig out Russian olive, dig ditches etc. It looks better than a pond scoop.
Wish this would work on the 36” sycamore stump next to my driveway. It’s been a beast. Doesn’t help that it’s right next to the concrete (growing under it) on one side and 4’-6’ from my neighbors power and water lines. So needless to say, most of it has to stay. Just trying to remove the part on my side of the property line so that I can bury a 6” drain pipe.
@@GoodWorksTractors No Stump Bucket will be pulling this stump!! Gonna have to let it rot in place. Will be drilling lots of holes and adding salts to help decompose it over time. Fortunately only the very edge of the tree and it’s roots are on my side of the property line (which is bad enough). So as soon as I can remove enough root ball to bury my pipe, just going to install a privacy fence and the stump will no longer be my problem. Lol. I came home one day and my neighbor had decided to cut it down. Sure do miss that large sycamore though.I came home one day and my neighbor had decided to cut it down. It gave me lots of shade from the western evening sun. My electric bill shot up the year it was removed.
Depending on how you're using the stump bucket, the rear weights might actually be working against you. For many of the saplings, you didn't really need loader lift capacity so much as you needed more down-pressure. Weights on the 3 point actually reduce how much down-pressure you get with the bucket on the front.
@@GoodWorksTractors I know that it's been a couple of years since this video was done, but I was curious about the front weight myself. I've been struggling with the limited ballast information in my 1025R manuals in particular the whole Implement code thing that I see in the tractor part of the manual but no place else... but I digress.. Is there a reason for adding weight to the front rather that just decreasing the weight in the back? Perhaps sometime in the future .. if it's not already available ... you could come up with a video or two detailing ballast plans. Thanks for some great videos.
There has been a lot of discussion about ballast. The best solution I have found is a large trash can filled with concrete. I took a new plastic trash can around 50 gallon size and a new drawbar, cut a hole in the trash can and put the drawbar through the hole. I then filled the trash can with ready mix concrete. I think it took around 5 bags. BTW i mixed the concrete with water to make regular mix and filled the can with the concrete setting up around the drawbar which is about 8 inches from the top of the can. I'm not sure what the weight is but it fixed my problem on my JD990. I hope this helps. Its not very expensive but for me very practical.
This would work great on my cemetery repairs. We run into problems with yuccas having deep roots and knocking over headstones. This would also do good removing old rotted fence posts.
I wish it was mounted farther away from the bars. It would've been able to dig deeper. From what i can tell, it's the plate and mounting structure behind it that will strike the ground, preventing deeper cuts.
Is it possible to make the replaceable teeth fold in on tree trunk so it reduces the "slide" when bucket is not underneath. I just notice in video when pulling up the saplings it would slide along because it wasn't under. If there was a way so the trunk would wedge or be held so that you can pull up might be an improvement. Just a thought.
Great product, I have a BX2380 with the SSQA connection and I also have 900lbs HLA pallet forks so I guess I have options, can’t wait to see pricing and if you will ship to Canada. 👍🏻
At first I thought this was kind of a meh idea, then I saw it working and realized I have been asked more than once to clear out an area like you did and had no efficient way to do it. That is way faster than a bucket and chain. Would that fit a pallet fork for the Kubota bx?
@@GoodWorksTractors I have not bought the pallet forks yet. I bought a used 50 series and the route I am going to go for attachments is use the pin on style and then use the pin on quick attach system from AI2 bxattachments.com/product/quick-attach/.
Did you just hang the suitcase weights on the front box frame or is there an adapter required? I've checked with a couple of manufactures and they state that you can't use the front weights with the loader on. Thanks!
The ground was really well saturated, so digging was easier. Traction wasn't a problem with the doubled rear tires + lighter weight tractor (basically 'floated over'). I think if it was dry, it would have been much less effective. Prove me wrong. :)
These look great, but they need a grapple top! I see you got out all those bigger trees, then had to change to your grapple. I think next product is an attachment for your stump bucket, to make it a stump bucket with grapple!

Yeah it did very well. Thanks for watching!
Depending on how you're using the stump bucket, the rear weights might actually be working against you. For many of the saplings, you didn't really need loader lift capacity so much as you needed more down-pressure. Weights on the 3 point actually reduce how much down-pressure you get with the bucket on the front.
I have an extra 200 lbs of weight hanging on the front as well. I'll sacrifice some digging capability for keeping my butt planted to the ground 😂
You make a valid point BUT in my case I would use my counter weight box and just lower it to the ground if I need more down digging pressure.
I either use one pallet fork or siamese the two for this. Sometimes it is nice to have the length of those forks to really get under the stump.
I have a 2019 3025e I’m thinking of all kinds of fun for that attachment! Looks a great post puller, just need a piece of chain.
That thing really gets to the root of the problem!
Looks really well made. Nice job. -Ed
I have a 3032 John Deere! In Oregon. Would love to be a tester!👍🏾😀❤️🇺🇸
Nice set up, for a small tractor that is a beast! You have some great ballast. Keep doing what you are doing ?
Thank you Harry!
Great idea! Do you have any pictures of it that you would share
This would work great on my cemetery repairs. We run into problems with yuccas having deep roots and knocking over headstones. This would also do good removing old rotted fence posts.
looks like it would handy for cleaning out a fence rows. digging out briar bushes ect.
Dude, that was awesome!! I'll test one out for you.... I'm right next door in WI..... Keep up the great work!
Haha thanks for watching!
This implement looks like it would be perfect to dig op old Xmas trees. I have 30 acres with a lot of Xmas trees to get pull up.
Looks like a very useful attachment, like the new style teeth!
I would like to see how deep a hole it would dig. Tree planting, animal burying and such. Very interested.
Great product, I have a BX2380 with the SSQA connection and I also have 900lbs HLA pallet forks so I guess I have options, can’t wait to see pricing and if you will ship to Canada. 👍🏻
Shipping to Canada is coming very soon!
I really need one of these for my 1025R. I've already tweaked my pallet fork frame from using the forks to dig up stumps :D
At first I thought this was kind of a meh idea, then I saw it working and realized I have been asked more than once to clear out an area like you did and had no efficient way to do it. That is way faster than a bucket and chain. Would that fit a pallet fork for the Kubota bx?
Glad you liked it. It will fit the ssqa if you have that system on your BX?
@@GoodWorksTractors I have not bought the pallet forks yet. I bought a used 50 series and the route I am going to go for attachments is use the pin on style and then use the pin on quick attach system from AI2 bxattachments.com/product/quick-attach/.
Looking good! Need to switch my tractor from pin on to quick attach.
Yes, that'll open up a world of possibilities!
You should consider a 3 tooth cutting edge like whats on dozer cutting edge blades, for the front 3 teeth? Just saying!🤠
Did you just hang the suitcase weights on the front box frame or is there an adapter required? I've checked with a couple of manufactures and they state that you can't use the front weights with the loader on. Thanks!
Very impressive,,,much faster than a backhoe. You would want to match it up with just the right power,,,,perfect for compact tractor.
The ground was really well saturated, so digging was easier. Traction wasn't a problem with the doubled rear tires + lighter weight tractor (basically 'floated over'). I think if it was dry, it would have been much less effective. Prove me wrong. :)
I've got nothing to prove. Stump buckets have been around for years. The concept has already been validated.
Ya...on big tractors or skid steers. ruclips.net/video/xgi5512baV4/видео.html this one almost as big as the 1025r.
Make a video trying to dig out stuff with the tiny stump bucket on a 1025r WHEN ITS DRY. DO IT :)
Neah
I like it and could definitely use one. Any idea on pricing and when will be available?
Ready with pricing and taking preorders within a couple of weeks, thanks!
I will be ordering one of these next spring!
I wonder how well the loaderhoe will hold up to mostly cobble? I have several stumps that need to removed and all we have around here is cobble.
Don't know, but if you look close, there's loads of rock in this soil.
@@GoodWorksTractors Yes, here is about 2-3x more rock to soil. It's horrible to dig, but makes a great base.
These look great, but they need a grapple top! I see you got out all those bigger trees, then had to change to your grapple. I think next product is an attachment for your stump bucket, to make it a stump bucket with grapple!
Yeah, maybe so. Will have to give it some thought. Thanks!
Good Works Tractors then it becomes the poor man’s backhoe with a thumb! I was thinking the same thing as I watched.
😂👍
These look great and I'll definitely look at adding one once I upgrade from my X728 and 45 loader!
Glad to hear it, thanks!
Great job...great product! Best wishes
I'm guessing there are a few variables: tractor weight, tire traction, sight view/angle to the tip of tool.
Yeah definitely
Great Video, I need this for my 3046!
kinda off topic, but I am really digging the music. Sounds a little like "Boards of Canada"
Haha thanks!
@@GoodWorksTractors i really like your digger, I could see buying one if I upgrade to a loader tractor. I also really liked the backing track, too! Who is it??? And what song?
I liked the music, also. My son plays the mandolin and I know he would love it, too.
