My husband is truly my best friend we goof around. Been together 20 years married 16. Been through miscarriages a still birth 😢. My cancer and mastectomy. We are parents to 4 children. 7,9,11 and 13 😀 we are getting stronger. I am seeing our peers 1 in 3 divorcing and it’s so sad. Love marriage Monday’s xxx
Love this. My Husband and I have almost been married 4 years. We never had the carefree "honeymoon" period. He is in Seminary studying to be a Pastor, 8 months into our marriage I was diagnosed with cancer. Praise God, He healed me. The first several years were very challenging with health issues. We love one another and our love has really grown through some hard circumstances. We never know how long we are with our spouse, so it is so important to love them and trust God in our marriage. Great video Alana. God bless you!
I understand my husband and I never had the honeymoon period either a month after marriage my husband got sick couldn't walk and I was working a very full-time job at the time 66 hour work weeks and taking care of him I honored my commitment and I took care of him after about 3 months my husband was healed and could walk again he told me that he thought I would leave him it never crossed my mind now almost two years later i'm having health issues and he takes very good care of me I love him so much I will never leave him he is the man that God designed for me
I am a young married woman. Year 1 was definitely the toughest. We say that God allowed us to go through such a tough season because he truly rooted us for the rest of our lives. I think a part of that was our naivety was thinking that we are Christians we are doing the will of God and marriage will be a breeze. We praise the Lord for being believers because if we married anyone else that did not have the same conviction we truly know it would have been a quick divorce within 6 months of marriage. Totally agree with everything you said.
What a beautiful reminder to try to live and love in all seasons and stages of marriage and life. Marriage truly is such a beautiful design. I think you are 100% right, I had never thought of it that way but I think it is very likely the things we want most will be the things our spouses struggle with. God uses it all just like you said.
Candy Renee I totally agree. I think if our spouse fulfilled perfectly those holes and longings what we want most we wouldn't trust the Lord and get that satisfaction only from Him!
I have been married for 7 years and I’m in the desperate years. I have 3 kids under 5 and I am thankful that I am done having children. Lol I am past the pregnancy stage, thank goodness! I am starting to feel good in my body again. Now on to getting the baby in his own bed haha
I just love your marriage videos! They challenge me in areas I'm being lazy in. They give me a Biblical perspective that I need to be reminded of. Some of the encouragement you give has helped make my marriage better. And I have always thought we have a good marriage. Thank you so much! Our families need to hear these Biblical truths.❤️
This video was a real encouragement to me. I have been married almost 11 years and we are definitely in the desperate years right now! 3 kids between 2 and 8 years old. My husband is a wonderful man, though not a believer, which didn't bother me when we first married because my walk with the Lord wasn't where it is today . You said it right that the things I want from my husband are the things he's weak in! I never thought of it like that. My sin has truly been revealed in that struggle, but I"m grateful that God will sanctify me. Thank you for the reminder/encouragement to continue to cling to Christ, trust in the Lord, and to be content, thankful, prayerful, and hopeful in all things and show the love of Christ to the people in our lives. What a blessing you are to me!
Hello! This was such a great advice. I am so glad I came across your channel. I'm finding all marriage and faith related videos and going to take notes while I binge watch. God bless you
Thank you for your videos, esp. marriage Mondays...I completely agree 100% with what you are sharing...thank you Father for the strength you provide in the hard times.
Were in the desperate years are children are 5, 3, 10 months and 15 weeks pregnant with #4. My husband and I have been struggling but Sunday night We had a huge wake up call. Our family was in a terrible car accident we were hit head on and pushed into a semi that hit us and pushed us into a ditch. After the accident my children and I were rushed to one hospital my husband to a different hospital. It made us realize how grateful we are to have each other and our lives wouldn’t be as fulfilled without each other.
We will celebrate 20 years of marriage in October. We are in the “parenting teens” stage and in just three years, our youngest will be 18! It’s been a wild journey with many twists and turns and I know that will continue. So weird to think that the empty nest years are in sight... the years fly by!
This is such a great video for me to see today... Thank you! I've been struggling today a lot being overwhelmed and behind with life. I'm in the desperate years and you are so right that this season feels like it's going to be forever, but it's not! I'm trying to gain patience and be more submissive to my husband. He is also having trouble in this season, but we are incredibly thankful for our family. Thanks for all these wonderful marriage videos!
I am so thankful for your channel! I'm in the 'desperate years' and really needed some affirmation today as I was making dinner and feeling overwhelmed with exhaustion after another full day and felt like it was never going to end... Best timed video! ❤️
Thank you Alana for this wonderful video! I laughed along with you while listening very carefully to your wisdom. I am in the the "desperate years" as you referred to them. God is using these years to sanctify me and my marriage, no doubt. I thank God for you, the work he has done in your life, and your ministry :)

I am in a crazy season of life I am at home with my 4 year old boy and almost 2 y.o. girl 😅 my husband is working 10 hours per day some days we don't even see each other 😔 I miss him SO much...it's SO hard right now...your words are truly inspiring 😍
Hey sweetie, I loved this video, thank you! My girl is 5 now and potty trained But my 2 year old boy isn’t yet and I’m thinking of tackling it. Seems like a huge deal this time around. Do you have any tips and tricks on that? Was it easy for you to potty train your boys?
