I'm sad to hear you were this negative about the second trailer. I understand all negativity towards the first one, it was downright horrible, and when watching it I felt "have I been waiting for ten yeaars for THIS". But the gameplay reveal hit all the buttons for me. The gameplay is more like Mass Effect with swords, but I'm fine with that. I never played the first three DA games for the strategic gameplay. DA was always meant to be the spiritual successor of Baldur's Gate, and neither of the games have strategy on the level of the original BG games any way imo so I'm perfectly fine with a more direct gameplay style. As long as it's fun, I say!
My first BioWare game was Baldur's Gate 1 back in '98 (I'm pushing granny here soon enough) and as of this gameplay reveal I feel like this team continues to do the good they started back then. There's even plenty of people from that very first game, who wrote cultural icons like Minsc and Jaheira before Larian borrowed them for BG3, whose writing lives on in this game, along with writing of great talent BioWare picked up along the way through KotOR, previous DA games and the Mass Effect games.
I bought a new graphics card after seeing this gameplay trailer so that I'm ready and I just can't wait to return to Thedas. It's been ten years, Solas, and I remember the state in which you left me. I've never forgotten. Fall 2024 can't come soon enough. Leakers said in January that we'd be surprised if we knew just how close to completion the game was, so if the game was almost complete back in January I actually think fall 2024 sounds reasonable. If it's delayed, that's just for the better though, clearly they needed a bit more time if that's the case =)

Don't be sad about my feelings on the game, if you are intrigued, good! Be interested and excited! My opinions are not the truths of the universe, I am just a man, albeit an exceedingly handsome and charming man, but a man nonetheless. I am genuinely jealous that you seemed excited by this game. You are getting more value from this marketing than I am, but please note I have said I am excited for more Dragon Age in this video.
I hope you do return to Thedas and I hope it is a wonderful and joyous experience, I will be there with you.
As for any possible delays, if they occur, don't fall into the trap of "if it's delayed that means they need time to make the game better" please don't repeat that line and fall for that nonsense. It is never true. They need that time to make the game barely functional. I am not saying that's the case here, but it very well may be. I encourage you to be optimistic, but cautiously so. EA and BioWare are unworthy of your trust right now. Maybe this game will restore, but don't give it freely.
I don't say these things to talk down to you either, you seem thoughtful and intelligent so I will tell why I may be coming off harsh. I say it because I care. About you, your time, your enjoyment, and most of all, your wallet. I don't want anyone to capitalize off of your nostalgia of older games and use it sell you a possibly inferior product. You don't deserve that.
Take your time to make an informed decision. All that said, I hope I am wrong, truly.
I look forward to being in Thedas again and I hope to see you there, Rook.

@@ratedjentertainment I hope you will feel more hype as we are reaching closer to release! =) And I hope the game is really good too, of course.
Plenty of games get delayed to make the game work better, sometimes way better. Look how long it took Tears of the Kingdom to come out compared to what they were expecting, and thanks to the delays, that game's systems work together beautifully without any hitches. It's a programming marvel, really. I've written a fair amount of code myself and just imagining that code base scares me. Of course, not every game is Tears of the Kingdom, some are Cyberpunk as well. Sadly.
Thank you for your concern, but I'll get my preorder of the game in soon enough. I've been waiting for ten years, so I'll happily give them the benefit of the doubt. It's not like the Dragon Age team has let me down before. Anthem was what it was, and that was a Mass Effect team lead's dream after doing three ME games in a row. Andromeda was what it was, but that was also made by a very different company altogether (BioWare Montreal) who used to be a support studio to other EA studios before being handed Andromeda. Veilguard is the same team which gave us Inquisition, and while I don't think Inquisition is perfect by any means (I don't think either of the three are, though they amusingly all have very different issues) I see no reason to doubt their work here. I've been entertained, and after this gameplay reveal I feel safe I will remain so =)
I hope you will be wrong, as well. Means we both get to enjoy a better game ^^
I'll see you in Minrathous, Rook!
PS: I think the flying city thing you were referring to is the Minrathous Circle of Magi. It's a literal Circle, and a place of power and collected wisdom rather than a place where you hide mages in gallows or in towers surrounded by unbridged water ^^

Hot Ginger Dwarf. Its not that hard to fathom, you might disagree but most guys find her hot. I still think shes pretty.
I disagree with nerly everyone playing BG3 about Shadowheart but i still get why shes the most romanced character in BG3

Shadowheart is a High half-elf cleric companion in Baldurs Gate 3.
You should check the game out, it's a single player RPG based on DnD and is really fun.

@@dr.calibrations7984 Ahhhhh BG3. The game I see that has hype levels to the very sun.
It's not a game I have any interest in nor do I intend to play it, but I am always happy to have my mine changed.
What do you like about it? Gamplay? Writing? Art style? What drew you in?

To give you context because I feel it's appropriate, I've been playing games since Sonic 2 on the Sega Genesis. As far as RPGs go, If you consider OG Fable then that's my first, if not, Star Wars; Knights Of The Old Republic (KOTOR) was my first RPG, at least the first that I played beginning to end. I've also played Mass Effect, Dark Souls, and, of course, Dragon Age.
My brother got me into it because he knew what games I gravitate towards and how I'd go on about KOTOR and how good it was. As for artsyle, I'm not exactly a great source on critiquing artstyle, as I've never found a style that repells or attracts me, I find graphics to be icing, if the cake is good, the icing (graphics) will enhance it, but no amount of icing can save a terrible cake, or ruin a great one. I'd say my favorite aspects are a toss up between the characters and the gameplay. Fighting enemies or avoiding said fights with a skill check that your character might be designed around, your class matters, a Bard isn't going to fight, or explore the same way a Druid would. Being able to have, say a cleric force a very strong melee combatant drop his weapon and then have your melee fighter take it so his previously insane DPS (I always do the encounter early because I know about this strat) into a very low punch or just pushing a giant beast off a ledge rewards creativity in combat by boosting power without actually boosting stats.
The characters are all well written as well. While fantastical they do generally feel like real people you could know. I won't say they're as great as Mass Effects cast, but I am VERY biased. For Christ's sake my profile name is a Garrus reference.
TLDR; I think the characters and gameplay are stellar and recommend it. By all means, watch gameplay here on YT before spending money, but as someone with relatively similar gaming taste, I think it's a really good game.

@@dr.calibrations7984 wow! I appreciate you taking the time to write all of that! I genuinely enjoy your passion and enthusiasm for BG3, that’s fantastic.
Also, I’m glad you said something because I was hoping your name was a Garrus ME2 reference.
The style of CRPGs in terms of gameplay has never really hooked me in. Even recently I tried to play Warhammer 40,000 Rogue Trader, as a big Warhammer nerd, I was hoping this would be enough to get me in, CRPG with a Warhammer paint job, should be a no brainer, even that couldn’t keep me invested. Maybe it’s just the game play loop? Maybe I’m just too engrained in the Bethesda style of gameplay? I don’t know. But it’s worth considering.
We have a discord in the link of these videos, you should consider joining and hanging out, while I feel you and I might disagree on a lot, I enjoy having my ideas challenged.
Even more than that, I think there are many great discussions to be had.

I am worried about the wokeness of new BioWare , I loved Dorian as a character because he was a well written character , all the DAI romances were realistic even the psychotic sara , DA2 had a lazy rushed feeling with them all being romanceable n now they are pansexual ?as in deliberately written that way

    • @ratedjentertainment

Yeah, BioWare does seem to be on the Activism instead of Artistry path with their writing and they have been trending towards that for a long time.

They killed the dragon age series. Dragon age died after origin.
Even tho i liked dragon age 2 with its faults but dragon age inquisition was absolute dog sh.
Nothing compares to the dragon age origin . Not even close.
This, this looks like an absolute joke.

Powerful feelings on the series for sure. I agree that none of them compare to Origins, I found a lot to love about Inquisition.
Is there anything you enjoyed at all about Inquisition or is there even anything you tbh k you may enjoy in the upcoming game?
