- We always enjoy our two days of shooting at Jackson County Junior Fair in Cottageville, WV at the end of every July. This year definitely didn't disappoint. The Friday night Mud Bog had quite a few entries from daily drivers to the high speed rails and trucks. The pit was challenging and kept the drivers busy till three in the morning. Saturday's Truck Pull was just as fun and also lasted late into the night. If you've never been to the JCJF we highly recommend it.

The classic Fords, especially the dentsides, make me proud. Love my 79 F150.
Too bad you can't lock the Cherokee in 1st. Never understood why they had 1/2 as the lowest
I think this pit needs more water and less cement, the Ford they couldn’t even get off the starting line was hilarious
Hilarious when that chevy got stuck
I should have entered my chevy s10 blazer in it🤣 I've went through deeper mud then that many times
All you gotta do is do it for Dale and you'd make it through
Manufacturers and their 3 wheel drives.. makes no sense
Most people blow their money on a lift and wheels/tires so it looks cool. Then don’t think about any sort of lockers or actual performance stuff.
Some newer vehicles are able to use individual brakes to simulate locking diffs. But, generally those systems don’t work well in conditions like this.
More of a clay bog then mud bog
I think some of these guys are not aware of 4 low
The tall Fords ripped thru the strip.
The old ford's are the shit I had one 78 f250 351m 4 speed 38.5x13.5 tsl swampers, truck was a beast with that 4speed almost unstoppable.
Seemed a lot more dry than previous years.
This is cleanly for lifted trucks
I busted out laughing at .60 seconds.
He's fucking wearing a helmet too
Ok where is the mud
I think the problem with most is not having it 4wheel Low if available " ..
Also most vehicles have opened rear , center, and front differentials so you really most get 2/3 wheels moving
4wd transfer case is 50/50, no center diff like AWD. But yeah, front and rear diffs are usually open unless upgraded. As for 4 low in the mud, I'm not sure if I agree. If you are underpowered or undergeared and need it to get the tires spinning, maybe... But some wheelspin plus momentum seems to be the best way through mud in my experience. Hard to crawl with almost no traction.
Plus, it's definitely more fun to just send it.
And the gas pedal is usually the answer. Can't just pussyfoot your way through life, can ya?
You don't do low range in mud or snow. You want high. Get the tires spinning to clean themselves out.
That completely depends on gear ratios in diffs , tire height , and gear ratios in t case. Many many times low is what is going to get you out
Yes hi is for low traction at higher speeds or with low demand .
Low range is for low traction at lower speeds and hi demand like mud or where you need the better gear reduction for better power utilization of what the engine can produce.
@@mconradb also most of them drive in d not manual or changing gears you want to stick with one gear (usually first or second) so you don't lose momentum and speed and tourq
3:58 was that a Dodge Journey and did the decal read tattooed white chick 😂
Yawn.
Weak ass pit for damn sure.
That one bricknose ford
You call that a mud pit?
Ford won!!!
And the moral of this story is..... Dodge still sucks
There are a few that needed to go back to the suburbs.
Go back to thier city homes, and tame the MOM'S MALL CRAWLER with them!!!!!
Not Tame but take
Ford's independent suspension is the most embarrassing thing I've ever seen on a 4x4 vehicle
Well it’s still better than the control arm suspension they put on Chevys, nothing but broken ball joints, CV axles, and tie rods.
@@GasGuzler well I still firmly believe that the new Chevy junky ass suspension is leaps and bounds better than the twin I beam ford ifs, because it is, but, for me, personally, ND this is just my opinion lol, the only real trucks ever made in the existence of human history are 73-86 (not 87 Because tbi is shit) Chevy trucks. Therefore, I'm indifferent towards all other trucks lol
@@hastyhillfarmand4x480 every pre runner truck uses it and has for years. Even GM bodied desert trucks. And Ford doesn't use 1980s ifs technology anymore like Generic Motors does.
@@hastyhillfarmand4x480 love my Twin Traction Beam
