Oh wow, I just found this tutorial online. So much information and so easy to do. I bought a bunch of your surfaces last year, will definitely get some more soon. Thanks.
Thank you so much for the suggestion, Oluwabukola Akinyemi! I'll see what we can do about a video on styling antiques & decor items down the line! I love that idea! 😍
This is PACKED with incredible information! The ideas you gave me for my product photography are just swooning in my brain right now! Gotta go try some shots out.....right now...lol...have a great day!
I've only been thinking of diaganols in the upright and not the flat lay! Game changer tip and looks so nice since the C is a little more difficult for me.
I always struggle with flat lay the most and you seriously just broke it down and made it so much easier. Thank you for this Mandy! Those tips and tricks truly help tremendously.
It's crazy how the simplest additions in flatlays lead to such a massive difference in the photo! Super excited to go try some of them out now!! Never thought of using layering with wedding invitations, genius!
Simplicity is the way to go! Our gal at @beatboxportraits is always creating the coolest flat lay scene with wedding invitations! Glad you liked that one! 🙌 Thank you so much for watching!
Absolutely love your flat lay instructional demos! Thank you for showing how to create visually appealing photos using your easy-to-follow steps. This is exactly what I was hoping to find! ❤
These styling tips are taking flat lays from blah to brilliant! I LOVE all the specific suggestions on how to layer with styling blocks, use diagonal and C shape arrangements, and add texture to help focus the eye, create interest, and make certain items pop.
I also want to add how I love your suggestions of stuff laying around the house - like coasters, etc. I am always going "why didn't I think of that?" and it really gets my creativity moving when I am photographing on Replica Surfaces and it's like a treasure hunt around the house to find things to use, lol.
Hi Debbie. Aw, that's so lovely to hear your creativity gets going after watching our videos!! That is such a cool way to think of it - A Treasure Hunt around the house for photography. I may have to play that game!! :)
Photography was my first love prior to starting culinary school. Unfortunately it took a back burner for a while but thanks to Replica Surfaces, I now have a beautiful way to enjoy both my passions simultaneously! Love the tips and tricks! Thank you!
Great suggestion! We'll see what we can do! Have you seen our clothing styling tutorial on our website? I'll link it below! www.replicasurfaces.com/blogs/replica-surfaces-blog/photographing-clothing-3a-folding-and-styling-for-sellers-and-resellers
Love your products and videos. I take photos of my watercolor paintings, and find this helpful as it's sometimes tricky to capture a beautiful seen. Would you and your team have any video ideas about styling and capturing paper (or in my case, art lol)? Appreciate all you do.
LOVE this channel so much!!! Can I ask for a huge favor? Can you do a video on camera settings - specifically, how and where do you determine the image size when you are shooting for your blog, Pinterest AND IG? Do you just shoot in the biggest size possible then crop for each platform and if so, how? If not worth a video, would still appreciate written guidance here - thank you!
Hey! Great question! I always recommend shooting in a RAW format on a DSLR for maximum ability to edit and resize. I also highly recommend Canva! It's a super useful site and they have all of the recommended sizes and exact ratios you will need to export for IG, Facebook, Pinterest and so much more!
I would love some advice and beginner tips on styling clothing and hand sewn items. I am the assistant to the editor in chief of a sewing magazine and part of my responsibility is styling items for photography shoots. I want to be good at this and I’ve got a good eye as I used to be a graphic designer. But I would appreciate any help you could give me. I subscribed to your channel and look forward to learning. Thank you.
Hey Robyn! That sounds like an awesome job!☺️ Thanks so much for watching the video, and foe the request! We’ll definitely keep that topic in mind for future videos!❤️
Words I never heard of before this video: charger rattan plate, ramekin, spice pinch pot. I currently have them in my amazon cart, lol. This has been really helpful - this video gave me a lot of ideas. I am still struggling with grouping things together that don't - like a product bundle that doesn't necessarily look similar with color schemes etc. Some large, small, different colors. Maybe it's just not do-able. But I absolutely love this community, the videos and all the help you offer. Thanks, Mandy.
No way!! Empty space can be so visually appealing! Especially when you have help from a gorgeous Surface... not that I'm biased or anything! 😉 I am so stoked that you liked this one, Rebecca! 💖
Thank you! Beautiful flat lays! I would really appreciate it if you could show us soap makers some great ways to showcase bars of artisan soap. Thanks so much!
Thank you for breaking down the concepts, showing exactly what you mean by each concept and also providing alternative prop ideas. This is very helpful to learning some tips to improve our product photos!
Love this and thank you! Super useful since I struggle with the styling side. Would you be willing to do a video on how to decide what to include and not in styling? Maybe hit on the mind thought behind it. Thank you again!
Flat lays have always been challenging and something I have always struggled with. I could never figure out what it was that I needed to really add that dimension and visual interest to a flat lay. I love that you explained, not only the technique but also the reason why it would help elevate the image! I am excited to try out some of these techniques!
Yenrue!! I am so happy that we could help de-mystify the tricks to flat lay styling! Can't wait to see you use some of these tips and tricks in your photos!! 🥰🙌
Yep! That is Mid-Century in the background (vertical) and Terra Cotta in the foreground (horizontal). They are joining the main collection on Friday! 🤩
