This chanel is amazing, I've genuinely binged every video on here in about 4 days. I remember hearing you have a turntable so I'd love to see a video about headphone amps for a turntable (maybe including the fio)
Only dankpods to play hit me baby remixed to the soviet union national anthem while wearing oakly thump sunnies while his snake crawls into his hammock in front of hundreds of live viewers
Ever since I was a kid I’ve always thought about the idea of wireless earpieces connected to sunglasses or a hat. Maybe when the Google glass is actually good and apple eventually copies it my dream will come true.
China makes these, like exactly the same. I had a pair a couple years ago and they weren’t terrible.
Bose has a pair of bone conducting sunglasses that connect to your phone over Bluetooth. Also the new Ray Ban stories from Facebook have small speakers built into the frame.
I have the bone conducting shades from Bose. They're awesome and don't look as weird as these things. The future you wish for is already here.
i had wondered for many years and thanks to this video, i finally know what the weird mp3 sunglasses that my grandad wears are.
how does it feel to know this now?
@@eemeli7093 now i know my grandad fits into the category of 'cool 2000s dad'
I'm a dad and I would have been 13 when these were released. I think these are more for grandads now.
Your content is great mate, here in queensland sweating my arse off, still watching in this heat, love your work 😎👍
When he said "thongs" when dads mow the lawn, I was extremely confused, the I remembered they're just sandals
God, I miss the free drum streams. I will subscribe to Dank on Floatplane when I get a job.
I love the dad glasses. Garbage Time has some good content as well. I loved the you video your did about your metal friends. I am a metal head and I can really appreciate a decent music recommendation.
1:38 Now, I know just enough about Australia know what you mean, but as an American, thinking about dads mowing the lawn in a thong conjures up disconcerting mental imagery.
Bro, I don't know if you ever plan on becoming a father, but I think you'd be a great one. You've got some serious dad energy in this vid and your stories of teaching kids how to drum really hammered home how much you care. Also you're like the ideal model for this nugget. :D
OHHHH MAN! I worked at Circuit City when these came out and I would be one of the go-to folks to help customers with mp3 players back in the day. These suckers came out and the display we had to have out was one of those monolithic sunglasses case and it contained a single pair of those babies. I would mostly point people towards iPod or Creative because those were more stable brands, but yeah, I would get total dads going "WHAT ABOUT THOSE OAKLEYS? CAN I TRY THEM ON? GOTTA MAKE SURE THEY FIT LIKE MY OTHER PAIR OF OAKLEYS." and I'm like nooo, even I couldn't try them on so that just made suggesting them even harder.
Ah... good times.
so, ive been reviewing a modern reincarnation of these, the Soundcore frames, and as much as I hated the oakleys, I do kinda love the Soundcores, maybe because I got my actual prescription put in them so I'm always wearing some earbuds
Woah wtf? You can get your prescription put into em? I might have to check those out
@@FatCatCooper yeah, my opticians are "vision express" here in the UK, they charge £69 (nice) for custom frames, and then £30 more for anti glare coating, which seems like more that it should be.
Soundcore is great.
The USB logo was hidden as they used the ”high-speed” logo which means USB 2.0 but the thump only has USB 1.1
Mmm, that is scummy. :/ Well, companies were just as much as liars and manipulators in 2004 as they are in 2022, except much greedier nowadays.
@@thatguyalex2835 I don't think you're getting it. They made a mistake printing stuff out on the boxes, but didn't wanna just waste a bunch of packaging, so they slapped a sticker to conceal their mistake. If anything, it's the opposite of scummy. Just leaving it there in plain sight, that would've been scummy.
@@pvshka Well, they should have corrected it before making too many boxes, but I see. Nobody is perfect. :) At least the 2.0 logo was covered up, to be honest.
Lol I used to work at sunglass hut when they sold these. I wanted these so bad!
1:55 did I hear what I thought I heard.
I remember buying some random bootleg pair of these online at wish, it worked supprisingly well
I watched this with cc (auto gen english) and at around 9:12 when frank came in, the captions said applause
I just noticed THAT OMG WHY???
I love this man more than my own father at times he’s great
Either you dont like your father or you REALLY like dankpods
@@nuthin2du both
Another fatherless child with that anime PFP.
@@treett4268 I have a father, he’s just emotionally traumatic, but yeah, that’s fair
@@treett4268 Why are you insulting them and not the father for being shitty ☠
dankpods building lego is ironically what i needed in life
I remember those things. Plenty of people thought they were cool including myself. I would've never work them, I'm more of a Ray-Ban kinda guy but I thought it was a cool idea and awesome they were able to fit it all into sunglasses, as gaudy and thicc as they may be.
i would love it if someone could convert the headphones to run on aux and the lenses to gunner glasses. Perfect for dad gamers everywhere.
I’m ashamed to say I owned these, I remember thinking how cool it was to flip the lenses up but if I’d seen myself in a mirror I’d have looked like a dick lol they were cool though at the time
Oh boy, the mid 00’s are the best time for the worst crap
So true :DDD
8:47 I kinda vibe with that with the drums. it sounds kinda sick.
I showed them to my dad and he goes "they look nice!"
I like how it was full of music with absolutely no metadata, or even the artist in the filename.
This one didn't age quite so well. Love ya dank
what, how come?
Hey man, I know you've done videos about getting into audiophile stuff, but do you have any plans on making videos on getting into drums?
NO WAY A CRAZY BUS COVER !
I never thought you could be even more awesome
iPod Video, Nano, Touch, still by my side
8:14 "DadPods" -Nandobob23
7:58 *Chef's kiss* Perfection. 👌
I remember seeing this as a kid and thought it was just a pair of shades with wireless earbuds fused into it.
But holy shit, it's actually a nugget?
Dog the bounty hunter wears these in some of the older seasons of his show
I found this channel 3 days ago, and my life went way more happier since then. :')
oof this got me off guard 9:20
The 2000s literally had the most gimmicky items I’ve ever seen
7:25 use adblock..
pretty much opera has an adblock
Man, I wanted one of these back in 2004. They looked so cool.
What was so funny to me was I showed my dad this video and he laughed because he bought a pair In 2007
It's crazy how mp3 players are still being released and sony are charging about £199 for one that has 8gb 😂😂
first , never clicked faster
You want a cookie or something?
You actually are first
wow
nice
A pro
ive got myself some akg k72's, and i gotta say, they sound amazing. i even have a cheap amp i can plug in whenever i want them to have way to much thump. its great!
I thought I seen this video because you were talking about the headphones sunglasses but no these are totally different 😅
Shows you how much I pay attention.
It makes me happy seeing the list of stinky names get longer and longer as time goes on
