I had only been riding for a few months until I got caught in a rain storm on the highway. No rain gear at all. I thought I could beat the rain, but I was so wrong. Thankfully cagers were paying attention and didn't run into the back of me. Made it the 40 minute ride back to my place, my 650 did great on stock tires
@@trm3d1c that’s what’s up. I got caught in the rain a few times with the stock tires and didn’t die so they probably aren’t the worst. Yea sometimes you get those random pop up showers that can really be nerve racking. Especially in your case where it was on the highway.
Cagers lmao stop that cringe BS, 99%! Of bike guys drive a car, what are we part time cagers? I only had a bike for 3 years for transportation, I never called anyone a cager, that shit is beyond 🌽 y.
I'm also an all weather rider. I'm not concerned about finding myself on gravel roads or loose surfaces either because like you said here, riding in the rain forces you to be a smoother rider and I agree that it makes you a better rider al round.
@@NicksBikes for sure. And a more confident rider too. Getting scared in weird conditions to the point where you are white knuckling the handlebars can definitely put you In a bad situation.
Nice riding. Do you turn your face shield at an angle to slide off the rain drops better? Only thing missing is a windshield wiper. My stock tires were awful so I'm glad I have a different brand that grips better. The back tire would slide easily. Does your gear stay dry?
I do turn my head like you said. Don’t really do anything unless I’m too going over 30 mph or something. My gear gets pretty soaked but usually my clothes underneath stay dry. There have been a few times where it’s to much and I’m soaked to the bone lol
I definitely want to get a second bike. I honestly don’t think I would ever trade my 650 in for another bike tho. The 650 is too good of a bike in many aspects. A big one if I’m being honest is finances. Insurance on this bike is super cheap as well as the payment. Getting anything bigger is going to drive that cost up and I really can’t afford it right now (or rather really don’t want to put myself in that position again). There are several bikes I’m looking at now. I really want to get a Vulcan 1700 bagger. I’m working on getting one without financing it. It wasn’t a mistake financing the 650 but I really don’t wanna do it again. I also have been looking at the Kawasaki Verseys. Really I would want the 1000cc to get that bigger engine but honestly the 650 class would still be good for me. But to answer your question I definitely want an upgrade but I want to keep my 650. Again, it’s just to good of a bike for me. 20k miles and only regular maintenance. It’s that solid and reliable.

Don't hate on my Diablo's brother! 😂
@@adamemay I just hate them Because I can’t afford them lmao. No I would love to run those tires. I bet it’s such a crazy difference.
Do you think you'll ever upgrade?
