Here is a quick video for the 2023 Kawasaki Ninja 650. I put over 20,000 miles on him in just 2 seasons. As you will see in this video the Kawasaki Ninja 650 is probably one of the most dependable motorcycles ever built. I have enjoyed every mile of it and I'm really excited to continue to rack up the miles. While owning this bike I never had to do anything to it that wasn't regular maintenance...

Storm Chasing on a motorcycle: Heavy Rain.
Its a really good ender bike too.
subbed, good content brother. Not far from you either
These snow covered roads are probably too slippery for regular motorcycle riding, so good to see you had an option for a car that day!
I like this :) We have been getting real cold here too, but no snow yet, so thank you for sharing this :) I'll be keeping the audio running while i read haha.
Appreciate it brother. Yea pa has been getting pounded this year. Seems like every week there is a new storm. Today was -7 and tomorrow is supposed to be colder. Definitely going to ride that. I got to lol. But it’s crossing into the dangerous territory with those temps
agree 100% about the exhaust...makes no sense to by a different one
I just bought a ‘24 and I have absolutely no complaints. If I could only have one bike, it would be a Ninja 650. Very well rounded bike and an excellent value.
Congratulations on the bike. You are right. I own one and it’s my first bike. I’m with you. While I want a second (not getting rid of the 650) if I never get another I’d be ok. It’s that good of a bike
I'm starting to get seriously interested in this exact bike. I like this generation of it looks wise, I like white graphics because it's the most visible for safety, great ergonomics for a 5'6" person, and the essential (for me) ability to mount SHAD side cases. Frankly, I think a motorcycle without an easy way to carry some stuff (clothing, food, water, work stuff, hiking shoes, camera stuff) is just a really expensive toy. Working a 12hr shift I sometimes ride to work in a summer jacket, with my winter jacket and other gear packed in my side cases for my 40-minute commute home. You won't find another current full fairing sport bike that can take mounting brackets. It's all tall (ugly IMHO) ADV bikes now. Oh, ABS was not available with this color scheme in 2023 only the KRT edition, correct? I would want that.
@@garyives1218 that’s an interesting question. This specific ninja doesn’t have ABS. But other white ones do. I’m pretty sure the KRT will always have abs but isn’t exclusive to it. Other regular 650s will also have abs. It’s just mine didn’t.
I recall riding on cool fall nights, my fingertips and actually my kneecaps would get cold first. That was before I had knee guards, which I do now, and ofc riding pants would probably do the same thing. Could be something else for some people to consider who don't wear leg armor. I agree that the neck coverage is important since it is usually exposed.
Thanks for inspiring confidence. I am picking up a bike in a week, and although I could put it on a trailer, I am instead opting to ride it back in below freezing temps. I am athletic so seems like a fun adventure and also a good bonding experience with the bike. The dealer is concerned it might not be safe with the salt, but I will be riding slowly, and we haven't been getting many East coast winter storms this year, (as you know.. NJ here), so from what I see there won't be much salt, and the forecast is showing clear and 20's F.
I spoke a bit soon, big snow storm on the East coast today! Should be clear again in a few days...
We got lit up with snow again here in Pa. Probably the same storm you’re talking about. I’m glad to help inspire people when it comes to riding. It’s such a wonderful feeling and I hate to see people not do it out of fear. It’s dangerous and stressful sometimes in the beginning but once you get past that it’s super easy and stress free. That is probably for the best to just push it back. You got your whole life to ride. Definitely don’t wanna get off on a bad start.
4:58 I don't have this bike, but by seeing the clear view of the filter, it appears that you could be using a filter socket with a ratchet. Any auto parts store should have the correct size for this filter. Just bring the new filter in and match it up. It's like $8 and I guarantee you'll love it. I tried a cheap universal plier the first time I tried an oil change and it was so awkward it was impossible. Honestly, I chucked it in the trash, then went right out and got the socket which is literally a BFF now (unless I get A different bike with different filter).
3:02 It doesn't suck that you lost your car keys, it sucks that greedy a'holes decided to make it impossible to simply affordably replace a key. I think I'd love to have a Ninja 650, I've test ridden other bikes too (2014 BMW F800GT), but every time I ride my Royal Enfield INT650 I find it pretty perfect in its humble simplicity and want for nothing more. Replacing its key would probably cost like $30-40. Any other modern bike I could see them wanting $150 or more. I'll have to turn my brain off to deal with the issue, and cost of "more tech more problems" if I do get a lovely Ninja 650 (not that I've heard of any reliability issues). I love that you can put SHAD side cases on these, and the ergos. That's what may sell me on it. Yeah, fogging and prescription glasses are a deal breaker even if you have the will to deal with cold. Then there's the snot......
What, besides an additional disc and caliper, makes a 650 ABS retail for $3000 more than a 500 ABS?
...kinda nuts to hop on a bike now, don't you think? :D Its 33f here in Western Europe, enough reason to doubt as it is too close to freezing temps, which means that certain parts of the road might be slippery, especially bridges, some parts that had some dew and froze overnight. But if i see you i could call myself a big p#ssy as you just drive in snow situation.... Forget about being cold yourself, thats just easy to solve by layers and layers of clothes. Main issue is keeping these wheels where they should be, and it is just too much of a risk.
Man respect, ive done winter riding i want to stay 20deg. Is the coldest ive ridden and it was COLD. Hope you find the keys or work something out to getting them back. Blessings.
Thank you. I got the car in the shop getting a key made. Ready sucks but at least I had the funds to do it.
Hell no. A guy at work rode his Harley in 14 degrees. I was not. My limit is 40 degrees 😂
I just broke my record a few days ago (9F). It introduced me to some interesting problems lol. My face mask was freezing over and I couldn’t see lol. But the scenery was amazing.
That's good you were able to stay warm with all the layers. Back when I got my first bike in 2003, and had no other transportation, on the way to work, my eyes nearly froze in their sockets, or were starting to. What a weird situation, as I had to vent the windshield of my full face mask to not see blinding fog. I even used that anti-fog spray but it barely helped. Glad work was only 10 minutes away back then. I keep my motorcycle stored for the winter these days. Staying warm on the bike below 40 degrees is a challenge for sure. Enjoy the ride.
It’s interesting you say that about your eyes because I was actually kinda worried about that. Like can that actually happen? I honestly don’t see why it couldn’t
@@CityNinja650 Yeah, I remember riding up the city hill, and with the visor open to clear out the fogged visor, my eyes suddenly felt very rigid. I tried turning them but it was difficult. All the moisture in them too from the cold blast hitting them suddenly. That situation where breath turns to ice-crystals kind of situation that day I think. Rare, but seems possible if I kept going that way. Immediately I shut my visor and pulled over when it was safe.
@@BlackArroToons that’s a wild story. And it sounds like it happened really fast. Glad you were able to make it back ok. Extreme temperatures on either side can be really dangerous and bring up new risks we never thought of. I definitely wouldn’t think of my eyes freezing. That’s so insane
I just bought the 650!! Binge watching videos til it gets warm enough to ride. Appreciate your time and energy💯
@@ayiticheri7277 that’s what’s up. Congratulations on your new bike. I’m sure you will be staring and sitting on it till the weather breaks lol. Such an incredible feeling. Congrats
@@CityNinja650 Thank you 🙏🏿 I’m beyond excited 😆. I still can’t believe it. I got my license in 2015 and I’m now finally fulfilling my dream. It’s such an amazing feeling.
Bro, I'm in Beaver County! Just got a B200r, if you're ever in the BC area, we'll ride!
That's a cool miniature motorcycle. Hopefully the throttle can be adjusted. How is the steering? Looks like you were doing well overall before it slowed down.
@@BlackArroToons steering is pretty good. What I was doing when I was slowing down was trying to push the throttle open directly on the engine. With regular gloves it’s easy but not with these. Yea I should be able to adjust the throttle. I’m definitely getting new parts when I do the engine swap
@@CityNinja650 Thanks, good to hear it can be adjusted as needed. A fun mini bike.
@BlackArroToons yea they really are too. I got a few trails I can take it on. If I had a truck the possibilities would be endless lol
Yesssssirrr Jesus is King
Lol! 😂 I LOVE how this started, if you want to make janky mini bike content I'm HERE for it! 😆
@@itssanktime82 Im down for that lol. It’s crazy how much fun you can have on these things. I really wanna put another engine in it and put a stage 2 or even 3 in it. I would love to make this thing stupid fast. And do some off road stuff. That was actually the plan for this video but something was up. Almost behaved like it had bad gas.
@CityNinja650 it's so awesome, it sounds like rocks in a blender every time you gave it gas. That was fun, I'll have to see if I can pick one of those things up, I see them for sale pretty cheap. 👌👌👌
Layers in the cold weather on a bike are great, enjoy the cooler weather!
It's all about the layering!
@LD777saed for sure. I’m going to have my work cut out tomorrow. It’s supposed to be -10F. I’m actually excited tho lol
@@CityNinja650 Layers over the regular amount of layers to stay warm.
You talking about being overwhelmed with completing the goal I felt that it’s hard having such a big milestone. Can’t wait to get my first bike!
I can guarantee on your next bike you will take heated grips. My previous (and first) bike was a Ninja 650 and it's a shame they don't offer that from factory (although there are aftermarket options). Now rocking a BMW F900XR WITH heated grips 😉
Hell yeah been looking forward to this!
It’s better than a cup of coffee 🥶
Nice vid! I wear an extra undershirt and underpants if its less then 2 degrees and i ride for 20+ minutes. Thats it.
Right on time💯
Thanks for the information. I dress much heavier in the winter, so you're right, it depends on the person. Great video!
Love your content! Keep up the great work…Subbed!!!
I had a car going behind me with the Hazards on and did not take the Highway! Got my Ninja 500 yesterday.
@@NICKGAMER35 congrats on your new bike. That’s a really smart idea with the car and blinkers. Never even thought of that. Good stuff
Happy birthday, if the new lady is up to it maybe a 2 up tutorial would be cool. Convinced my girl to ride around neighborhood but was sorta uncomfy lol.
@@jaredanderson7494 thank you sir. I wish I could make that happen. She said there is absolutely no way. Which really sucks tbh.
Happy birthday. Good video. Looked like a nice morning ride.
@@BeardedBiker83 thank you. Yea it was a very nice start to the day that’s for sure
Happy birthday!
@@itssanktime82 Thank you. Now I’m an old ass man lol
Happy Birthday man! I'm on a DJI Action 4 cam and would recommend it. I won't say it's any better in low light than the gopro (depending on the model you're comparing to) but the DJI is definitely more reliable overall from my experience. Less issues capturing audio, and odd shutting down/over heating issues I've seen on GoPros. You would also need to look at the mic adapter for the DJI on top of new batteries, or the wireless DJI MIC that works really nice, but would be even more $$$.
@@mwaychoff thank you sir. Yea you guys got me sold on a DJI. That’s another big issue I was having too. The camera shutting down. Usually I have that happen when it’s below 20F outside. Idk if the cold is draining the battery or what. But it don’t do that if the camera is in an enclosure. So a DJI camera in an enclosure with a wireless mic should do the trick.
Loving your consistent uploads currently 🙌🏻 Motivating me to also upload!
@@KahoGeorg keep uploading bro. I’m excited because I just found out how to change the captions from German to English. Going to rewatch all your stuff.
