Creatures of the Night is one of the most discussed albums among diehard KISS fans. The 1/2 answered question; who played guitar on the album? It has been documented that Robben Ford played the session for I Still Love You and played down the guitar solos. Steve Ferris (Mr Mister guitarist) played on Creatures of the Night. Bob Kulick did some session work for the album, but it's not documented that any of his contributions were used in the final mix. Vinnie Vincent certainly was involved in the writing process, but did not play on every song. However, Vinnie did play the solo on Keep Me Coming. He played down some tasty guitar leads that show of his unique phrasing and style.
Creatures was not a big commercial success. The band was still trying to recover and win back fans after The Elder release. Most KISS fans agree, Creatures is in the top 3 best KISS albums, and definitely the heaviest.

Great lesson man. I remember the first time I heard this song on my first listen to the album, I thought "man what a heavy riff" I still love it. Great song, great job bro.

    Maaaaaate!!!!!!! 😃
What an absolute legend you are for doing this! 🙌 Creatures has always been my favourite studio album. While I love the Elder now, back then I hated it and I was thrilled when they returned to form with this killer record. This song always stood out to me and I can't thank you enough for taking the time to answer my request and you sure put a smile on my face just now as I was finally able to play along to it after all these years! 😃 🤘Love your work mate, thank you so much for this and all the tutorials you do. Legend. Fucking dead set legend! 👏

@@ChristopherCoxI revisited this earlier today and read the description (typo on the year btw 😃 says 1980) and noticed the link for tips. The Aussie dollar isn't doing too well lately so $20 only got you roughly $13 U.S. but I just wanted to do the right thing because that was really cool of you to come through for me and do this tutorial mate. Hope you have a great day 🤘

Good luck with the transorion to full time music. Are you still going to post some original material on your channel? I'm definitely keen to hear some, I played in a few bands back in the day and always try to support talented people.

@@Z_333_ Thank you so much man. I will eventually do lessons for all of the Creatures the Night songs. I've got so many different lessons planned for 2022. My goal staring in April is at least 1 new lesson per week.
I'm working on recording an all instrumental guitar CD, that I'm hoping will be finished by the end of this year. I'm going to do some RUclips short videos throughout the process. I'm really excited about it. It's something I've wanting to do for many years, but never felt confident enough to pursue. Hopefully, once it's finished I can do some RUclips live performances playing all the songs too.
Again, I can't thank you enough for your kindness.

@@stevenbruno2752 That’s a good point. I know Ace has been open on how he didn’t like the direction of The Elder. I like The Elder, but it was such departure from original Kiss sound.

@@ChristopherCox I read a book called Odyssey, which is about the making of Elder. Much of the early portion of the recording was done at Ace's home studio in Connecticut. I guess while the songs were heavy, they weren't thrilled with what they had and then Ezrin came in to help and brought up the concept album idea.

I think they were just getting too much outside noise during that time. I really like The Elder, but it took me a while to appreciate it. Under the Rose, The Oath…There’s some heavy stuff on there.

Chris... First of all, REALLY GREAT JOB on a really great tune! (As always my friend)
I have to tell you... Being from Vegas, I was, and am, blessed to call Mark Slaughter one of my very good friends! He's an awesome talent and an even better person! Aside from Mr. Vincent, I dare you to find an unkind word about Mark.
Some of his Vinnie stories, which I'm unfortunately uninclined to share, would have you in stitches! Lol! (Full belly laugh!) I know that Ace was "spacey", but Vinnie was an alien from another planet! And I'm not just talking about looks! Lol!
I'm sorry for coming off like I'm bashing the guy...
BUT I I'M! LOL! Although I can't take anything away from his talent...
I mean, it must really take a lot of practice to make your guitar sound like a bumble bee on helium! Oh Chris! I just can't help myself! Make me stop! PLEASE! ok..OK... I got that out of my system...
So really, Mark told me stories that you would think he was making up, but he was totally serious...
    But I digress...
Nice side notes on the album too. I think that record was a "make or break" record for KISS and they really brought back a lot of their fan base with that one. After Dynasty and The Elder, they really lost their "vibe" with most if not all of their all but most loyal fans...
Thanks Chris for bringing back those feelings of relief that KISS WAS BACK AND READY TO KICK SOME ASS! Also, you can't mention "Creatures" without mentioning the THUNDEROUS DRUM SOUND THAT ERIC BROUGHT TO THE RECORD! R.I.P. my friend!
    Eric was THE NICEST GUY...
    God bless and take care...

Just found the channel. :) Random factoid. Not sure if you know but Robben Ford played the guitar solos on 'I Still Love You' and 'Rock and Roll Hell' on the Creatures of the Night album. Keep teaching them classics. Just subbed. 30 year guitar teacher myself. Found you on Reddit. - Another strange guitar solo fact. The second half of the FLying high again solo was written by George Lynch. Randy asked him what he was playing and he showed him. 4 months later he heard it on the radio, lol. This part ruclips.net/video/qmkJSHp3GOs/видео.html Lynch talks about it on Tone Talks recently here on youtube. It is a great listen and very funny if you are a Dokken fan. For those that know about Metallica's And Justice For All Album not having bass....that wasn't the band. That was management. Dokken listened to their album and the bass was gone too. The management thought it was a better sound and was doing that to a lot of people. If you go listen to Dokken Under Lock and Key....great sound....no bass.
