I had a 94’ cobra for 10 years. Built the motor - 331 stroker and pro charger. It had almost 200K on the body and still had the T5 in it. I beat on it til the day I sold it. Stayed in touch with the guy who bought it, he never changed the trans or clutch either and he had it for about 4 years.
@@captaincrustypants Yep, the car was 10yo when I bought it so there’s a good possibility it could have been replaced or rebuilt.

Glad to see another SN95 getting some love! I have a white 97 Cobra and I sure wish the white paint from that era would’ve held up like the other colors. These mods are pretty much exactly what I want to do for my car but I can’t make up my mind on what I want to do for boost. I’ve considered centri blowers from Procharger/Vortech, PD from Kenne Bell, and turbo from Hellion/On3. I feel like the Kenne Bell is gonna be the most fun for the street though…

That car has a lot of work into it . Nicely done. I had a low mileage laser red wingless 98 cobra with a Sean hyland engine and a vortech. 600 whp back in 2003 was swinging for the fences !
Lucky’s Redeye will easily clap it on the street doe 🙅🏽♂️🗣💯
@@PM-AMnobody cares about that overglorified boat and 600whp in a much lighter stang is around the same as 750 or more in a cat because of power to weight ratio so dont be so sure😂
@@PM-AMno a 600 wheel 98 cobra will wreck stock hellcats...they weigh 3400 lbs stock.

Dude those tail lights are freaking awesome. My favorite chassis is the 2013-2014 s197 and the tail lights kind remind me of that. This is probably my favorite sn95 now. Well done🤝🏻

Yes they are modeled to look like the 13-14. I was in the Facebook group that got the company to make them. I loved them at first they do look good but after seeing them on the SN-95’s for a while I prefer the stock jeweled tail lights. Those are for the 13-14 model. Also own a 14 GT but the SN is my favorite.

@cobraowners ONE THING I WILL SAY IS MY 97 COBRA SOUNDED AWSOME AND I LOVE THE STOCK HOOD AND JUST HOW THE MOTOR LOOKED BUT I WISH SVT BACK THEN PUT BETTER RODS IN THE 96 TOO 98 COBRAS.

Lol yeah I was waiting for this comment. It was hard talking to the camera on the fly without rehearsing anything. It did have the built bottom end because it was blown up before because of the supercharger. Besides that it had the axle dumps as mentioned along with springs and cobra R wheels. I’ve basically built the car around the motor doing almost every single supporting mod I can, next is upgrading the supercharger and I’ll be pretty much done with it.
It’s tough being on the spot just talking to the camera. I feel your pain on that.
Super sweet. Personally I prefer factory taillights, but I just like simple subtle body/exterior modifications… fantastic Cobra though!

Great looking car. I have a 96, same color, but mine needs to be repainted for sure. I watched this entire video just to get your tire/wheel info. I have some 18” Saleens but I have H&R sports and I feel like my combo looks too low. I need coil overs for sure.
I have almost the same exhaust setup, except I have dyno max ultra flows. I did a Modular Performance big bore for a rebuild. The motor didn’t actually let go, the head gasket did at 156k.
My compression is about 9.5 and I have an intercooled T trim going through a Viper spec T-56. I put down 414hp/440 tq at 7psi on an S trim with the GT impeller. I had massive belt slip, and that power figure was made with the belt starting to slip around 4200 rpm. No telling what it would have made at full psi. Should have been at least 10-12. Looking to make 14/15 if I ever get back at it…

Yeah it sounds fantastic. My 2016 with Corsa x-pipe sounds similar. I think nothing tops the sound of a Mustang, absolutely no other car on earth!

I love Cobras, but nothing compares to the LFA exhaust note or the Ferrari 348.
@@signoresantinoburnett1169 I've not heard the LFA in person to make a comparison but the 348 does sound great.
Sweet car. Never put a Keene Bell on these cars. I need to make a good video of my 97 Cobra, i got a ton of work done to it. MMR 900 03/04 Cobra short block, Crower stage 3 S/C Cams, Magnafuel fuel system, Vortech supercharger, 4:10 gears, BBK full length headers and Magnaflow magnapacks, and most of the work was done by JPC Racing here in Maryland. I got a bunch of other things done to it, she dynoed on a safe tune 516hp and 511 torque. It sounds so good, i get compliments all the time.

I have a 94 Cobra, love it! I also have a 2015 SHO Taurus which is faster then the Cobra but the Cobra is so much more fun to drive!

I picked up a 96 laser red cobra with 94k miles a few months ago and have been loving it!
My first sn95 was my 98 GT which was my first car in highschool and ever since I sold it ive been wanting another one lol bought an s197 in between but finally found a good sn95 to buy!

When I was 13, my mom bought a '94 off the showroom floor. So I'll always be partial to the sn95. I've always loved the car, but the ride height and wheel fitment from the factory was atrocious. Slam em and put a fat wheel & tire on, and they look 🔥🔥🔥
The factory ride is definitely pretty rough but once these have the suspension and wheels dialed in, they look absolutely amazing!

Sn95 is the best looking in my opinion. Just wish they came with a similar motor and irs like the terminator. But if built I’ll take an sn95 over terminator any day.

Love your build, Colin! And great videography work as always to the Cobra Owners channel. I just purchased a KB 2.1 for my Bright Atlantic Blue cobra. Looking forward to the install and I'm looking forward to comparing it to my Vortech supercharged 97 Cobra.
Have you installed the Kenne bell 2.1 blower yet? If so how do you feel about it? How does it compare to your vortech cobra? How much power does it make? Does it over heat like everyone says?
I have not completed the install of the supercharger. I'm currently replacing the secondary timing chains on that car.@@petrolhead8851

They are definitely stiff, sometimes bouncy, just depends on the shock settings and type of road

Question for yoir 315s in the rear did you eliminate the quad shock or is it still there for those tires to fit?
There is no quad shock, I’m on coilovers and everything suspension is aftermarket. But all that’s needed to clear 315’s is removal of the quad shock with properly offset wheels

I forgot to talk about it in the video but I just used a caliper to measure the opening for the center cap and bought flat plastic ones from Amazon, then bought the stick on SVT badges and stuck them on. Way better than the ones that came with the wheels
Do you have any issues with 95lbs injector with drivability. I have 60lbs in my 03 cobra at 600 rwhp and have plenty to spare
Where did he get the rear brackets for gt500 rear brakes?
There was a guy on one of the auto-x mustang Facebook groups that made them and was selling them

Car is mint, i'd go 3.2LC or at least 2.8L KB..
I would have to swap heads. Only the non intercooled 1.5 and 2.1 were available for these
@@colinmitchell536 Really?? I'm about to call KB about the 3.2LC 2v blower but it says there it's definitely for the 2v n 4v engines.. I'll let you know what they say..
@@P71ScrewHead those are for C head 4v’s like the 03-04 cobra. 96-98 cobras had B heads. Completely different
@@colinmitchell536 Oh, ok, i didn't know there was a difference between them but i think that's what i saw with the Lightning 5.4L 2v, i tthink you're right on the 4v too.. i'm a 2v guy so i know their site says the 3.2LC is available for my 2v setup..

Hi. I'm purchasing a 97 cobra with a kb. Motor is blown, how do I know which kb is on it? Could be a 1.5, 1.7 or 2.1 correct?

Do the svt centercaps fit nice on the cp21 wheels? Wondering cuz I have the same wheels on my sn95 cobra aswell and hate the centercaps they came with

Did you do cop swap? Any ignition issues?
Yes I did I forgot to talk about that too 😅. No issues at all, it also still has an old Kenne Bell boost-a-spark on it as well not sure if that’s helping or not, just left it hooked it up and all has been good.
